Chapter 114 She Rarely Asks Anything of Me

"Sometimes, you can be too straightforward," Sebastian remarked.

"I don't want to beat around the bush with you," Isabella replied.

Sebastian looked at her and said, "That's not a wise approach."

"Indeed," Isabella nodded. "A wise person like me should have sold Lynda this favor, allowing everyone to regain some of their pride and peacefully handle the situation. But I chose not to."

Not only did she not do so, but she also repeatedly exposed Lynda's true intentions and Sebastian's as well, unveiling all the awkwardness and concealments behind them.

No need for pretense.

Sebastian locked his gaze onto her eyes and asked, "You want a straightforward answer, don't you?"

"Yes," Isabella confirmed.

"Alright," he turned around and sat on the couch, crossing his legs with annoyance, and lit a cigarette. "I did consider changing my mind."

"Because of Lynda?" Isabella questioned.

"Yes," Sebastian admitted. "She rarely asks anything of me. This time, instead of asking me, she went to find you. But I have to help her."

Isabella chuckled, "Even when she didn't ask for your help, you still want to shoulder the burden. If one day... Lynda actually asks you for something, would you even be willing to give up your life for her?"

"She has no parents, no one to rely on," Sebastian said. "Her mother owes a debt of gratitude to the Watson family, and only she can repay it. And now, ensuring Bob's safety is her best way of doing so."

Isabella felt a sudden shock in her heart. She didn't expect Lynda's background to be so miserable.

But what right did she have to sympathize with Lynda when she already had Sebastian's wholehearted love and happiness?

She suddenly called out his name, "Sebastian."

He quickly responded, "Yes?"

"Let's stop arguing. It's exhausting and gives me a headache."

Sebastian flicked away the cigarette ash. "What do you want then?"

"I have only one thing to say."

"Speak."

Isabella's voice was barely audible, "Why should I have to bear the burden of her family's debt? Why should I have to sacrifice and be magnanimous to repay it?"

Smoke filled the air.

She looked at Sebastian's silent face, and her heart felt like it was being sliced open.

Lynda had just returned, yet she had already given Isabella such a blow.

Regardless of the outcome, Isabella had lost in this matter.

Sebastian letting Bob go meant a beautiful and dignified victory for Lynda.

If Sebastian doesn't let go... then in the future, he will show even more sympathy and favor towards Lynda.

And what about Isabella?

She had nothing, and no one would understand her.

After a moment of silence, Sebastian spoke up, "What do you want?"

She smiled, "I don't want anything."

As expected... she had guessed it right. Sebastian considered Lynda's feelings and wanted to let go of Bob.

And on her side, he’ll just dismiss it casually, offering her a small compensation.
Who is light, who is heavy, it's clear at a glance.

The cigarette in Sebastian's hand is almost finished, the long ash hanging there, ready to fall with the slightest movement.

He said, "Bob has already been punished, now it's just a matter ..."

“Enough, I don’t want to hear it.” Isabella interrupted him and walked towards the bathroom,

"You've made your decision, I'm going to take a shower."

She didn’t have the courage to listen to anymore...

Sebastian extinguished the cigarette, raised his hand to his forehead, his eyebrows and eyes filled with weariness.

Everything is in chaos.

As he listened to the rushing sound of water coming from the bathroom, Sebastian became even more agitated. He lit another cigarette and took several deep puffs.

Isabella stood under the shower, the water spraying down, drenching her body.

She tilted her head back, directed the showerhead toward her face, and closed her eyes.

Perhaps... it is only at this moment that she can quietly cry for a while.

And she can deceive herself, it's not tears, just water, simply water.

To have to hide her tears and only cry during a shower, how much difficulty and pain must she endure in her daily life.

Isabella is really tired. From the bankruptcy of the Wallace family until now, no matter what, she endured it all, not wanting to shed a single tear.

But now, she is truly heartbroken.

Let her cry quietly for a while. When she finishes showering and faces Sebastian again, she will pretend as if nothing happened.

She will still be the naïve and not-so-clever Isabella.

Although, she can be clever and sensible, adept at handling all situations.

Returning to the master bedroom, Isabella didn't see Sebastian still there. She crawled straight away on to the bed, turned the bedside lamp on her side off, and lay on her side.

Just as she was about to fall asleep, the large bed sank slightly, and a familiar scent wafted over.

Sebastian's hand reached over and rested on her shoulder.

As she was about to turn to look at him, the lights in the master bedroom went out.

He pulled the covers over her.

But Isabella turned her head away, avoiding his kiss: “If we’re going to do it, then do it quickly.”

Sebastian's body visibly stiffened, then he raised his hand to tilt her chin upwards and kissed her deeply.
There was no trace of tenderness.

This passionate encounter didn't stop until midnight.

There were no words exchanged between them, no affectionate gestures, no tenderness, only release.

Sebastian continuously demanded, while Isabella remained silent throughout, except for the times when he pushed her to the edge and she couldn't help but make a sound, the rest of the time she remained silent.

This didn’t seem like the love between husband and wife, but more like a task.

Yes...the task of getting pregnant.

Sebastian turned over and got out of bed, heading towards the bathroom.

Isabella squinted for a moment, heard his footsteps as he came out, and then reluctantly sat up.

But Sebastian had already approached the side of the bed, holding a towel in his hand. It seems like he intends to help her wash up?

"No."

"Not used to it." She sounded weary. "I can do it myself..."

Before she could finish her sentence, Sebastian was already seated beside her, lifting the blanket and without a word, began wiping her down.

The towel had been soaked in warm water, and its scorching temperature made Isabella shiver all over.

She resisted a little...

Sebastian held the blanket down over her legs and calmly said, "I've already done everything, is there anything left to be ashamed of?"

"I, I..."

No one had ever done this before, Isabella wasn't used to it, it was only natural!

Who was he to be like this, with such thick-skinned audacity, seemingly lacking any concept of decency and morality?

Isabella turned her head away, she refused to look at him, cheeks flushing with embarrassment. In an attempt to hide from Sebastian, she took a pillow and covered her face.

Sebastian once again pushed the boundaries of her modesty!

Seeing her like this, a faint smile appeared on Sebastian's stern face.

"Alright," he retrieved the towel, "go to sleep."

Isabella immediately pulled the blanket over herself, wrapping it tightly.

She even turned over, rolling up the blanket to prevent Sebastian from uncovering her.

In the process, she thought she heard Sebastian's laughter.

But Isabella couldn't care about that anymore, she was exhausted and sleepy.
