Chapter 13 Unveiling Secrets
Marcus extended his hand and said, "Mr. Lawrence, hello, nice to meet you. I'm Marcus."
"Pleasure to meet you," Sebastian replied casually, his hands tucked into his trousers. "Mr. Yin, where should we go to have dinner?"
In disbelief, Marcus asked, "Mr. Lawrence... What are you saying? I seem to have trouble understanding."
Turning around, Sebastian looked at Isabella and said, "Care to explain? Hmm?"
"Isabella," Marcus anxiously asked, "Mr. Lawrence said you're his wife? You're married? When did this happen? What's going on?"
"Yes, I am married," she replied. "Mr. Cooper, you are my client, but this is my personal matter and I am not at liberty to discuss it."
"I don't need Mr. Cooper to worry about my marriage with my wife," Sebastian interrupted, then turned to Isabella and said, "Come here, by my side."
His large hand encircled her slender waist, and he whispered in her ear, "Had enough fun, Mrs. Lawrence?"
Isabella's lips curled slightly. "Almost. Are you here to take me home?"
"Indeed," Sebastian replied, "A day without seeing you... feels like an eternity."
Sebastian wanted to play the role of a deeply in love husband, and she played along.
"How could you marry him," Marcus's temples throbbed, "Do you know what he..."
Sebastian's volume completely drowned him out, "Mr. Yin, criticizing my marriage seems to be none of your business."
Isabella didn't want to stay here any longer, so she pulled on Sebastian's sleeve, "Let's go."
He didn't move, his gaze sweeping across the papers and POS machine on the table.
The manager understood his glance and immediately explained, "Mr. Lawrence, Mr. Cooper has bought a house in the southern mansion and has already paid a deposit of five million."
"From whom?"
"From... Mrs. Lawrence."
"Aren't I amazing?" Isabella intentionally asked, "You see, coming to experience the sales department, and incidentally sold a house."
Sebastian didn't get angry but smiled instead, lowering his head to look into her eyes filled with a playful glint, "Yes, you're amazing."
Isabella felt even more proud.
"However," Sebastian countered, "Do you know why Mr. Yin, who has a beautiful Yin residence, would come to buy a house in the southern mansion?"
Isabella shrugged casually, deliberately sounding calm, "What does it have to do with me?"
Sebastian slowed down his speech, word by word, "That is Mr. Yin's marriage home."
"Congratulations," Isabella said, "Let me congratulate Mr. Yin and Mrs. Yin here, wishing them a hundred years of happiness."
"Isabella..."
"Husband." She raised her head, her chin resting on Sebastian's shoulder, complaining sweetly, "Let's go. I'm hungry. Will you take me to have Western food?"
Sebastian's fingertips gently stroked her cheek, his eyes filled with an unfathomable emotion, "Alright."
The manager had been silent the whole time, trembling in fear. This woman, who was parachuted in, turned out to be... Mrs. Lawrence!
She was his boss' wife!
Do rich people play like this? Experiencing life? Or... have they had an argument?
Sebastian embraced Isabella and walked briskly, his steps fast and urgent.
Isabella could only jog, trying her best to keep up with his speed, "Can't you slow down a bit? I can't walk without eating."
Oh no, she thought, he's angry.
"Wow... the man in the suit..."
"Wow, he's handsome! So incredibly handsome, it's like he's walked out of a manga. Who is he?!"
"That's Mr. Lawrence! Mr. Lawrence! The top boss! The South City Mansion is just one project under his company."
"Rich and handsome! I never thought I would see Mr. Lawrence in my lifetime... Wait, isn't she the janitor who cleans the toilets?"
"Oh right, why is Mr. Lawrence putting his hand on her waist?"
"He's just too good to be true... I can't handle it..."
Emily listened to her colleagues' excited chatter before realizing.
Oh... so this is the CEO husband of Isabella. He's even more handsome in person than in the financial news!
Not only is he handsome, but he's also at least 1.85 meters tall, with a well-built physique and features more delicate than a woman's.
Damn, Isabella hit the jackpot!“A husband like him is hard to find even with a lantern!"
Just as Sebastian and Isabella were about to leave the doorway, a woman approached them head-on.
Isabella focused her gaze and realized it was the female manager who had been "entertained" by her cleaning rag and mop.
The manager also noticed her and perhaps due to excessive anger, she disregarded Sebastian standing beside Isabella, directing her fury solely at Isabella, and indignantly exclaimed, "Perfect timing! Now I don't have to go look for you!"
"What's the matter that you need to find me for?" Isabella smiled warmly, "Please, do tell."
"You, you...I must teach you a lesson today!" the manager angrily declared.
The female manager's hand was grabbed by Sebastian before it even touched her. He frowned coldly and said, "Where did this crazy dog come from?"
The female manager finally saw him and before she could say anything, she was forcefully thrown away. "Ouch!" She stumbled backwards, taking several steps before falling to the ground.
"You, a grown man, dare to bully..." The supervisor hurriedly rushed out and said, "Shut up, stop embarrassing yourself and go inside, stop causing trouble here!"
"He hit a woman, and you say I'm embarrassing myself..." "Say another word and you'll never succeed in life!" The supervisor forcefully pushed her and said, "Apologize quickly!" "Are you kidding me? I should apologize? I..."
Isabella cleared her throat twice and said, "As for me, I am not a broad-minded person, but rather a petty one." The female manager widened her eyes and asked,
"What are you going to do?" "Let me think, "Isabella said as she touched her chin, "Do I make you clean the toilet too? It seems like you're getting off too easily... Hey, Sebastian, what do you think we should do?"
She turned her head and looked at the dark and unpredictable man. Sebastian grabbed her collar and walked straight to the car, saying, "From now on, I don't want to see this person again." The supervisor responded.
"Understood, Mr. Lawrence!" Isabella was thrown into the car. He drove at high speed, constantly overtaking and braking. If it weren't for the seatbelt, Isabella felt like her forehead would've collided with the windshield.
"Sebastian..." she asked, "With such a good car, it must have airbags, right?"
"Yes."
"If they deploy in an accident and need to be repaired, it will be quite expensive..."
He glanced at her, "What did you say?"
Isabella screamed in fright, "Look at the road, ahhh! What are you looking at me for?"
Sebastian snorted coldly. "Even if you're mad at me, you shouldn't joke about our lives... Besides, we're both sitting in this car. If something happens, you..."
"The driver's seat has an airbag," Sebastian replied, a smirk appearing on his lips. "The passenger seat, does not."
"What?!?"
Finally, the screeching sound of brakes pierced the air. It felt like the tires and the ground were generating smoke. Isabella leaned forward heavily, only to be pulled back by the seatbelt.
Sebastian's voice came through, "Roll over within ten seconds!" Isabella quickly freed herself from the seatbelt at the fastest speed in her life, jumped out of the car, and ran towards Sebastian's angry figure.
Just as she was about to catch up with him, she didn't know what had happened, her vision went black, her body weakened, and she fell straight to the ground.
Hearing the muffled sound behind him, Sebastian's footsteps paused for a moment before he turned around. Hesitating back and forth several times, he finally ran towards her.
