Chapter 471 Has Lynda Gone Crazy?
Lynda shoved Dominic away and plopped down on the blanket, feeling super embarrassed.
Meanwhile, over at Pine Ridge Gardens, Grace's painful screams echoed again.
Dominic jumped up, "Who's screaming? Where's that coming from? Why can't I see anyone? Is there something wrong with this place? Man, making money these days is tough."
He threw on his coat and headed out, "I'll come back tomorrow, babe."
The door slammed shut.
Lynda wanted to stop him, but he was too quick and vanished in no time.
All night, Lynda was a wreck.
Grace wasn't screaming non-stop. She'd scream for a bit, then stop, and then start again after a while.
Lynda figured Grace was being tortured until she passed out, then woken up, and the cycle kept going.
She thought, 'How do they wake her up when she faints?'
Lynda couldn't help but imagine all sorts of horrible tortures.
She scared herself silly all night, thinking if Sebastian ever sent her abroad, she'd have to endure the same.
Finally, in the morning, completely drained, Lynda fainted.
Over at Willowbrook Estate.
Isabella got up at her usual time, washed up, and went downstairs for breakfast.
Since she decided to keep the baby, she had to think about its needs and make sure she ate right.
Just as she sat down, Carl walked over, "Ma'am, your package."
Isabella took it and opened the box.
It was her phone.
She immediately knew Samuel had sent it.
The phone she just bought was smashed by Sebastian, so this was perfect timing.
Isabella put the phone away and saw Sebastian coming downstairs out of the corner of her eye.
He was in a sharp suit, face expressionless, making it hard to read him.
Isabella noticed his forehead. Today, Sebastian had combed his hair back, showing the bruise on his forehead.
She looked away, lowered her head, and felt a wave of panic.
She took a small breath, barely parting her lips.
The movement was tiny, and Isabella hid it well. From Sebastian's angle, it looked like she was calmly eating breakfast, as if nothing had happened yesterday.
Or maybe, she just didn't care.
"Do you not care at all that I let Lynda go?" Sebastian's voice was hurt and filled with suppressed anger, "Is that it?"
Isabella chewed her food slowly, swallowed, and took out a napkin to wipe her mouth, hiding the pain in her heart.
"There's no need to answer that. I've said it many times." Isabella pursed her lips, raised her chin a bit, and tried to look confident.
Carl quickly stepped forward to mediate.
She pulled out a chair for Sebastian and said, "Mr. Lawrence, please have a seat."
Sebastian sat down calmly, leaning back in the chair, a stark contrast to his violent demeanor yesterday. He said coldly, "Isabella, have you forgotten how many of your weaknesses are in my hands? How dare you keep provoking me like this?"
"The Wallace family's company, your grandma's nursing home fees, and your two friends' jobs," Sebastian said, tapping the table with a cold snort. "It all adds up. Oh, and Samuel, your lover. Almost forgot."
Those words hit Isabella right where it hurt.
Her brows furrowed, and she glared at him, gripping her fork tightly.
She thought, 'You bastard, how dare you bring those up! You bankrupted the Wallace family company, making Janet end up in the hospital because of the stress from the bankruptcy! And now you're using this to threaten me? Would you only be happy if the Wallace family completely fell apart and Janet died?'
Isabella slammed her fork on the table. "Sebastian, you've really mastered this trick!"
Seeing her reaction, Sebastian felt a bit more satisfied.
He nodded. "Yeah, this trick works best. See, it made you care."
"No, you're wrong," Isabella's eyes flashed with determination. "It's you who cares. You can't stand my indifference, so you threaten me."
"And me?" Isabella met Sebastian's icy gaze and chuckled. "I still live my usual life."
Provoking people was Isabella's specialty; she always had a quick comeback.
Sebastian was never good at arguing, and he was left speechless, unable to respond.
His face kept changing, growing paler by the moment. His eyes grew colder and colder.
"Mr. Lawrence!" At that moment, Kaine rushed in. Seeing Sebastian, he walked quickly forward. "Something's wrong!"
He was about to continue but noticed the tense atmosphere in the room.
Kaine opened his mouth, looked at Carl, who kept his head down.
Then he looked at Sebastian, who exuded an endless cold aura.
Finally, he looked at Isabella, who had a smile on her lips.
"Good morning," Isabella raised an eyebrow at Kaine. "Kaine."
Kaine's legs went weak.
He wondered what was going on!
"Speak," Sebastian glanced at him, sparing only one word.
"It's Miss Baker, there's a problem," Kaine scratched his head, choosing his words carefully. "The people at Pine Ridge Gardens said she had a mental breakdown and went crazy. She seems to only remember up to her college years and is constantly demanding to see you."
Isabella was stunned, almost thinking she was dreaming.
She thought, 'Lynda went crazy? What a joke, what kind of trick is this from Lynda? She must be doing this to see Sebastian! And Sebastian, he would definitely go to see her, right?'
Isabella thought this was already ridiculous enough, but there was something even more absurd.
"Is that so?" Sebastian said. "In that case, bring her here."
He was speaking to Kaine, but his eyes were on Isabella.
Isabella couldn't avoid it and met his gaze.
She looked into Sebastian's cold eyes, saw him squint, and then heard his voice continue in her ear, "Carl, arrange a place for her to stay."
Isabella's pupils contracted, and the fork in her hand instantly fell to the ground.
A satisfied smile finally appeared on Sebastian's face. "Mrs. Lawrence, do you care now?"
Isabella never expected Sebastian to say something like letting Lynda stay at Willowbrook Estate.
Lynda had almost killed her before, how could he do this?
