Chapter 87 Is that woman infertile?

"Women are meant to be cherished," Sebastian's sweet talk left the old lady with a smile on her face, and she even held his hand for a while before they left, engaging in a long conversation.

By the time they left the hospital, it was already noon.

Isabella touched her belly, "I'm so hungry."

Lately, her appetite had increased, and she ate more than usual. However, she didn't think much of it, attributing it to exhaustion.

Every day, she acted as Sebastian's shadow, which required both physical and mental strength, naturally leading to increased consumption.

"The restaurant has been booked," Sebastian started the car engine. "How about Japanese food?"

She smiled sweetly, "Sounds good."

Sebastian felt a slight itch in his heart from that smile, and his throat rolled as he said, "Don't smile at me so sweetly in public."

"Huh?"

"I'm afraid I won't be able to resist."

Isabella quickly covered her mouth, unable to even smile... What a person.

Coincidentally, her phone began to ring, signaling an incoming call.

Sebastian focused on driving, his gaze fixed ahead, unaware of what was happening by her side.

Isabella picked the phone up and checked... It was Brittany calling.

"Hello?" she answered. "What's the matter, Brittany?"

Sebastian glanced at her only after she spoke, quickly turning his gaze away.

"Isabella, there's something... I think I should tell you."

"Go ahead, I'm listening."

Brittany remained silent on the other end for several seconds before softly uttering five words, "She is coming back."

The "she" in question was naturally understood without the need for explanation, all clear in their hearts.

A buzzing sound seemed to ring in Isabella's ears, and at this moment, her gaze became empty and absent-minded.

The happiness and contentment she had just felt in the hospital vanished completely.

Even a faint sense of helplessness and desolation emerged.

"Oh..." she said, "Is that so."

"But, it might not be for long," Brittany's tone seemed tinged with reluctance. "Very soon."

"Well, okay, I understand."

"I accidentally got this information from Joshua. Considering his relationship with Sebastian... what he said couldn't be fake."

Isabella forgot to reply and just held onto the phone like that.

She didn't know what to say, opened her mouth, but felt that anything she said would be superfluous.

"Isabella, Isabella?" Brittany called out. "I think you should mentally prepare yourself. She... she's very important to Sebastian."

"Thank you."

In order to not let Sebastian catch on to any clues, Isabella hastily cut the phone call.

However, her hand... was icy cold.

She tried her best to conceal it, not letting herself appear the least bit confused or panicked.

Sebastian's eyes were so sharp, and he quickly noticed something was amiss, asking in a casual tone,

"When did you and Brittany start getting along so well?"

"Huh? You didn't know?"

"What should I know?"

Isabella chuckled lightly, "The last time I went shopping, I met her there, and then we ran into Nicole.."

Sebastian raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Women's friendships, they build up quickly. With a common enemy, naturally, an unbreakable bond forms."

"Nicole is Joshua's fiancée."

"I know," Isabella replied, "But why does that concern me?"

Sebastian didn't ask further questions, and she managed to brush him off.

However, this news greatly affected Isabella's mood.

Unfortunately, she still had to play a role.

After finishing lunch and returning to the Willowbrook Estate, Isabella headed back to the master bedroom, saying she needed to study.

Sebastian went to his study, expecting to attend to several matters.

As they parted ways at the study door, he said, "Isabella, don't keep things from me."

She was startled inside but still smiled and replied, "What could I possibly keep from you? Besides, there is nothing I can really hide from you. If you really want to know, you’ll just have it investigated, then you'll know everything."

Sebastian merely looked at her, his eyes piercing, as if he could see through her soul.

Isabella didn’t dare meet his gaze and averted her eyes, saying, "It's nothing, just a bit tired. I'm going to take a nap."

She turned to leave but her wrist was caught.

Sebastian pulled her back, holding her wrist, moving closer, and pressed her against the corner of the wall before passionately kissing her.

Only when her lips turned rosy, and her breath became uneven did he release her.

Isabella's body weakened, needing to rely on Sebastian to barely stand.

"What are you doing..." she murmured, "You can’t just get animalistic at any time and place."

"I haven't claimed you yet, just quenching my thirst."

Isabella pushed him slightly, "Are you still thirsty?"

"A little."

She smiled, tiptoed, pulled his head down, and took the initiative to kiss him.

This surprised Sebastian a bit; she was rarely this proactive.

Isabella closed the door to the master bedroom, and the smile on her face vanished instantly.
Acting... is truly tiring.

She curled up in the wicker chair on the balcony, holding a book on finance, but her mind was filled with Brittany's words.

"She" is coming back...

Who is she, what is her status, and what kind of entanglements did she have with Sebastian? Why do all her friends know her, but Isabella has no clue?

Since Sebastian has a beloved woman, why did he marry her?

Just for the sake of having children?

Why not let that woman bear them? Could it be...

That woman is infertile.

Function?!

After thinking about it, Isabella could only think of this possibility, that in the future, her child would have to recognize another woman as their mother.

How cruel it is.

Isabella held the book, unknowingly falling asleep as she sat, with a slight frown on her forehead, filled with worries.

She had a very long dream, and when she woke up, she looked at the ceiling in front of her, the crystal chandelier, but it took her a long time to react.

Where is this? Wasn't she reading on the balcony?

"Awake?" Sebastian's voice rang beside her, "Don't sleep on the balcony again, you might catch a cold."

She got up and glanced out the window, the sun setting in the west.

She slept for so long during this nap.

Isabella rubbed her temples, "Why didn't you wake me up?"

"When I hugged you, you didn't react at all," Sebastian replied, "You were sleeping like a pig."

"I'm not a pig..."

“It’s time to get up and have dinner.” He walked over, standing beside the bed, “The housekeeper has reminded us twice already.”
