Chapter 394 Works for Grace

She gently kissed Sebastian's lips. "A proposal isn't necessary, but the fact that you designed a ring for me is already a surprise. I'm really happy."

Sebastian could feel that his heart was being cherished and protected by Isabella.

He wrapped his arms around Isabella's waist, put his forehead against Isabella's, and said hoarsely, "Why are you so obedient?"

"I can be even better." Isabella greedily inhaled Sebastian's scent, closing her eyes, loving him with all her heart and trusting him completely.

"Are you seducing me?" Sebastian struggled to get the words out.

"What are you thinking!" Isabella opened her eyes and playfully slapped his chest, creating some distance between them, and looked into Sebastian's eyes. "You designed a ring for me, so of course, I have to design one for you.

"Send me the address of that jewelry store and help me get in touch with them. I'll go out and do it tomorrow."

Isabella was super excited. She found Sebastian's ring finger and gently circled it with her finger, mimicking the shape of a ring.

Her eyes curved into little crescents as she softly asked, "Is that okay?"

Sebastian's breath became hot under Isabella's gaze, her eyes like little hooks that precisely captured his heart.

"Okay." He agreed.

Isabella smiled brightly.

"Close your eyes."

"Why?"

"I want to kiss you."

Isabella stopped blinking, her eyelashes still, and after a few seconds, a wave of heat rushed to her head.

She covered her face and nestled into Sebastian's arms.

"Stop teasing me!"

She thought, 'I've got to go downstairs for dinner soon, and I'm not in the mood for this.

'Otherwise, I'd definitely end up being the butt of everyone's jokes.

'Especially with Amber around.'

After calming down for a moment, Isabella lifted her head and changed the subject. "Were you arguing with Jarod just now?"

"Why do you think that?" Sebastian looked down, playing with Isabella's hand, avoiding her eyes.

"Actually, Jarod," Isabella said, "I don't think he's a bad person. Last time, he even told me that you liked me and asked me to think it through."

"So, you asked him to investigate the car accident?"

Isabella admitted honestly, "Yes, you're very busy. So I just wonder if I can relieve your stress."

"Okay." Sebastian responded with a single word, saying no more.

Seeing Sebastian's frown and silence, Isabella knew he was definitely unhappy.

"I was wrong. I won't ask him again. Don't be mad." Isabella pouted.

"Mr. Lawrence? Mr. Lawrence?" Isabella called out to Sebastian.

Sebastian turned his head to the left, and she tilted her head to the left, making sure he could always see her.

Sebastian was just pretending to be angry to avoid continuing the topic.

But with Isabella coaxing him like this, he felt both sweet and guilty.

She was so open and honest, but what about him?

He was deceiving her.

"Call me hubby." Sebastian immediately cupped Isabella's face.

"Hubby." Isabella obediently called out. Feeling it wasn't enough, she called again, "Hubby.

"Hubby, hubby, hubby."

Twice wasn't enough, so she kept calling until she was satisfied.

One call after another filled the void in Sebastian's heart.

Sebastian smiled and rubbed Isabella's head. "No matter what, don't leave me."

He gently caressed Isabella's lips, his eyes filled with tenderness and complex emotions.

"Isabella, if you dare to leave me, I will go crazy. You have to stay by my side."

Women in love were often a bit daft with passion.

Isabella was no exception.

Sebastian knew how to flirt.

And he was so handsome.

She loved him.

She couldn't see the underlying concerns in Sebastian's words and took them as sweet nothings.

Isabella shook her head with a smile. "I won't leave. Whoever leaves is a fool."

Her promise calmed Sebastian's heart.

He felt a deep sense of peace settling within him.

"I'll remember that."

"Are you happy now?" Isabella had come to understand that even the most mature man had a childlike side deep down.

A childish side.

She decided to change her Facebook note for him to "childish child" someday.

"Yes." Sebastian admitted with a bit of arrogance.

"Then you should tell me." Isabella paid extra attention. "Were you arguing with Jarod? The words 'truth' and 'culprit' seem related to my car accident."

Circling back to the same question.

Sebastian was on the verge of revealing everything.

But the last piece of advice from Moore before his death flashed in his mind.

Moore had suffered greatly during childbirth. If it weren't for Betty's heart, Moore might not have lived for a few days. He would not have had Moore's company in the later years, and there would be no Amber.

That debt of gratitude existed.

Now, only Lynda was related to Betty.

He couldn't bring himself to hand Lynda over.

"Yes," Sebastian admitted, "it is related to the car accident."

Isabella raised her eyebrows at him, waiting for Sebastian to continue.

Sebastian rested his chin on Isabella's head, his hand around her waist slowly moving up, gently patting her back.

"The driver works for Grace."

Isabella was stunned.

She was about to pull away from Sebastian's embrace, but he held her tightly.

She asked in his arms, "Isn't Grace in prison? How could it be her? Did Lynda get her out?"

"No." Sebastian closed his eyes. "It was a friend of the former mayor who got Grace out. It has nothing to do with Lynda."

"Right, Lynda probably doesn't have that much power." Isabella agreed, thinking for a moment before asking again, "So, did Grace and Lynda work together to orchestrate the car accident?"

Sebastian's heart ached.

But he still denied it, "No, Lynda didn't know."

"How could that be?" Isabella pushed Sebastian away, shaking her head. "The logic doesn't add up. It must have been a collaboration."

"The driver was Grace. Whether Lynda instructed her to do it still needs to be investigated. We also need to find evidence of whether Lynda pushed you."

Sebastian's hand slid down Isabella's back, silently comforting her. "Don't think about these things. I'll investigate. Just take care of yourself."

"Tomorrow, you have to design a ring, right? I'll find some materials for you to look at." Sebastian naturally shifted the topic to the ring.

Isabella felt that Sebastian was acting a bit strange but couldn't pinpoint why.

She didn't want to waste energy on Grace and Lynda, those two jerks, and said sullenly, "Okay, you find them for me. Anyway, I'm waiting for them to be punished."
