Chapter 325 A Smal Knife Would be Enough
After leaving the company, Sebastian drove straight to the nursing home. Halfway there, he suddenly hit the brakes.
What was he doing?
He had already decided to extract all his emotions from Isabella, so why was he personally going to the nursing home?
Sebastian's face darkened, and a storm brewed in his eyes. He stepped on the gas, speeding up to vent his frustration.
Twenty minutes later, the car stopped outside the nursing home, and Sebastian got out. Coincidentally, he ran into Emily at the entrance.
However, he didn't know that Isabella had entrusted her to visit old Mrs. Wallace.
Emily was taken aback and instinctively took a step back, swallowing nervously. But she stood up for Isabella. Even though she was afraid of Sebastian, she couldn't help but curse, "Scum, jerk!"
Sebastian merely glanced at her indifferently.
Emily felt her scalp tingle.
"Your attitude towards me seems to have changed significantly," Sebastian said. "Did Isabella say something to you?"
"She... she..." Emily's little tricks were useless in front of Sebastian. He could see through her lies or silence. He used to find Emily somewhat likable, but now he felt repulsed.
At that moment, the nursing home director received the news and personally came to greet Sebastian.
He approached Sebastian with an eager smile. "Mr. Lawrence, the attending physician just reported to me about the lady. Her condition is very good, and all the data is normal."
"Why don't you tell me in person?" Sebastian said, looking at the attending physician next to the director, his tone brooking no interference. "I want to hear the most accurate situation."
Emily, seeing the situation, stood frozen in place, scratching her head in confusion.
"You, go and check on Mrs. Wallace," Sebastian ordered with a cold gaze.
Emily immediately ran towards the nursing home. "Yes, Mr. Lawrence. I'll go now."
As she went upstairs and entered the elevator, Emily felt bewildered. This wasn't right. She should be venting her anger for Isabella, so why was she acting like a caring employee again?
She even dared to curse at the big boss. Thinking about what she had said to Sebastian, Emily immediately regretted it. The two foul words she had uttered made her legs go weak, and a chill ran down her spine. When she was cursing, she didn't feel intimidated, but now, upon reflection, she was scared to death.
However, the words spoken couldn't be taken back.
After getting out of the elevator, Emily sent a text message to Isabella about Sebastian's visit to the nursing home to check on the old lady.
Then, she composed herself, grinned, and knocked on Mrs. Wallace's ward door.
Isabella had finished her lunch and, despite the objections, forcefully made her way to the yard to get a better phone signal. Right now, her biggest worry was Mrs. Wallace. She must be safe! And without any feedback from Emily, Isabella was restless.
In the yard, Isabella immediately took out her phone.
Emily: [Isabella, can you receive this?]
[I met Sebastian at the nursing home. He seems to have come to check on Grandma. It seems like he still has a conscience.]
[Isabella, I just left the nursing home. Grandma is in good spirits, so don't worry. I'll come by often these days. I'll be there for her.]
After the message, Isabella's phone kept receiving Emily's updates. Isabella's eyes fell on the last message, and the lingering anxiety in her heart finally dissipated. Her lips trembled a bit, and she finally managed to smile, replying: [Let's have a meal another day. You can have whatever you want! I'll treat you.]
At this moment, Isabella guessed that Emily was cooking. Although she hadn't received a reply from Emily, she wasn't too worried. Holding the phone with her slender fingers, Isabella's gaze shifted to Emily's messages.
Isabella's heart was in turmoil. What did Sebastian mean?
Did he really go to the nursing home to care for her grandmother?
But it was his strong-arm tactics that had prevented her grandmother from contacting her. Wasn't he punishing her?
Why would he go to the nursing home again?
Shouldn't he turn a blind eye and watch her suffer?
Everything was a mess. Isabella was on the verge of collapse.
If this was Sebastian's way of punishing her, then he had succeeded. She went back to the bedroom to rest for a while and suddenly sat up. She still had to go out. Isabella's gaze fell on the fruit knife on the bedside table. She had originally planned to start with the butler. After all, only the butler in this villa seemed somewhat human and had a bit of compassion.
But now, the slow and hesitant approach took more time. Who knew when she would convince the butler?
Isabella changed into different clothes, grabbed the small fruit knife, and walked out.
The attitude of the guards at the door was as cold and stern as ever. "Madam, please return."
Isabella didn't say a word. She unsheathed the knife, and the blade reflected a cold light under the lamp, pointing it at the guard.
The sky had darkened, and black clouds covered the sky. A thunderous sound came from the distance. The combination of the knife and the thunder made the situation even more dangerous.
Isabella lowered her voice and said, "Get away."
She had never thought of forcing others in this way, but now she was forced and had no other choice.
However, the two people at the door remained motionless like robots. "Madam, we only follow Mr. Lawrence's orders. We cannot betray his trust. If Mr. Lawrence doesn't allow us to move, we won't move."
"Are you going to sacrifice your lives for his trust?" Isabella's voice was hoarse. "This knife maybe small, but it is enough to inflict harm."
"Madam, Mr. Lawrence is our faith, and faith cannot be betrayed. So, if you insist on hurting us, we... have no way out."
Isabella took a disbelieving deep breath, her pitch-black pupils contracting.
Sebastian, what kind of person was he? She wanted to curse.
Her face turned pale, and her chest heaved. Was she destined not to be able to leave?
Isabella closed her eyes and remained silent, but her eyes kept moving.
"So, madam, please go back..." The guard's words were cut off when he saw Isabella's movement, and he exclaimed, "Madam!"
Isabella didn't open her eyes. She just moved her wrist, redirecting the direction of the knife tip towards herself, pressing it against her chest.
Harming the guard was useless, right?
Very well, then she would harm herself!
Hearing the guard's emotional voice, Isabella knew that she had won this time, using this method. She opened her eyes, determination shining in them, and her delicate chin lifted.
"Make way." Isabella's tone was calm, unlike before.
The guard looked conflicted. There was a price to pay for everything. Isabella endured the pain and pressed the knife handle downwards. Summer clothes were already thin, and Isabella's skin was delicate.
