Chapter 461 Sebastian, I just lied.
Isabella's skin was so delicate that even a tiny nick from the knife made her bleed.
Sebastian felt his heart ache seeing those tiny, almost invisible drops of blood on her forehead.
He tossed the knife aside, bent down, and scooped Isabella up.
The car accident had left Sebastian with a few bruises and scrapes. Isabella was pregnant and not exactly light, which made the hidden pain in his body flare up.
"Let go of me!" Isabella bristled as he picked her up, her whole face and demeanor screaming rejection.
She lowered her voice, clenched her fist, and punched Sebastian's shoulder.
His shoulder was already injured, and her punch made it worse.
He tried not to show it, but cold sweat appeared on his forehead.
Deep down, he hoped Isabella would notice his discomfort. Instead, she glared at him with hostility. "Don't touch me, Sebastian, put me down!"
There wasn't a trace of warmth in her eyes.
She didn't care about him.
Sebastian's dark eyes were turbulent, appearing calm, but it was the calm before the storm.
"Mr. Lawrence, why make things difficult for a woman?" Samuel leaned against the wall, smiling. "If Bella doesn't want you to touch her, then don't. Forcing a woman isn't your style."
Sebastian didn't want to believe there was anything between Samuel and Isabella, but was there really nothing?
He thought, 'Bella? Shouldn't he call her Mrs. Lawrence?'
Sebastian's remaining rationality vanished.
'Who allowed Samuel to call her by such an intimate and unique name! Did Samuel call her by this unfamiliar yet affectionate nickname when they were together?'
Sebastian racked his brain but couldn't think of anyone else who would call her that.
It was too unique, too different. How could Sebastian not believe it!
Sebastian's eyes turned red, and he smiled, holding Isabella as he turned around and kicked Samuel in the stomach.
Samuel, with his enchanting looks and tall stature, appeared thin. Sebastian's kick made him stagger back several steps.
"Sebastian! What are you doing!" Isabella was startled.
Only then did she realize she had made a mistake.
Sebastian's wild thoughts had made her feel humiliated, so she lied to make him taste the pain, admitting to something that wasn't true.
But she shouldn't have dragged Samuel into it.
Samuel was innocent.
She thought, 'How could I involve Samuel! Sebastian won't let Samuel off.'
"We have nothing to do with each other!" Isabella hurriedly explained, trying to clarify, "Sebastian, I lied just now!"
Sebastian looked down at her, his eyes extremely cold. His hands, which were holding her legs, tightened their grip.
"Do you think I would believe you?" Sebastian sneered. "Just now, when I asked you, you denied it. Now that he's hurt, you don't admit it? Feeling sorry for him?"
With that, Sebastian no longer looked at Isabella.
He dangerously eyed Samuel, who was supporting himself against the wall, pausing after each word, "The Carter family of Silvercrest is indeed a noble family with a hundred-year history, but Samuel, is the Carter family yours? The Carter family has plenty of adopted heirs with the Carter name. They don't need you. You dared to touch my woman? Fine, I'll let you live so we can have some fun."
Isabella heard Sebastian's words and started piecing together Samuel's background. 'Samuel was adopted? What does Sebastian plan to do to him?'
"Sebastian! I told you, there's nothing going on! I was just driven mad by your words!" Isabella's face turned pale, and she was visibly flustered. "Samuel is innocent!"
"And you," Sebastian looked down at her, his face as cold as ice, "you're really something. Let's settle this."
He tugged his lip into a cold smile. "Isabella, if you dare say one more word, I guarantee your Samuel won't live past today!"
"Sebastian!" Isabella was furious, her face flushed. "The reason I left was because I found out what you did."
Isabella hadn't wanted Sebastian to know that she had discovered the truth about that rainy night. She didn't want to endure the torment again. But now, she had no choice. Otherwise, Samuel would be killed because of her impulsiveness!
Without allowing any argument, Sebastian grabbed her waist and said to Kaine in the distance, "Take care of him."
Isabella cried out in desperation, "Sebastian, Samuel is innocent. Can you not be so arbitrary? Can't you listen to me?"
Sebastian felt his heart ache at Isabella's tears, thinking she was crying for Samuel. The woman he loved deeply was crying for another man, crying sincerely, crying her heart out.
Sebastian gritted his teeth, "Isabella, I said if you say one more word, I'll kill him. If you shut up now, I'll spare his life."
"I won't say anything, is that okay!" She started to shut her mouth, shaking her head continuously, not daring to utter a single word.
Isabella had never won when going against Sebastian, and she gave in. Sebastian knew Isabella too well. She had a stubborn personality and rarely admitted defeat. Now, for Samuel, she was compromising so much.
Sebastian carried Isabella and left in large strides. If he stayed any longer, he would really want to kill someone. Isabella's waist and legs were tightly restrained by Sebastian, making it difficult for her to move. She was completely at his mercy. She wanted to see how Samuel was doing, but it was impossible. Isabella felt hopeless.
In the car, she closed her eyes, feeling very desolate. In her heart, she repeatedly apologized to Samuel. She really didn't mean it. She shouldn't have let her emotions control her or gone mad and confronted Sebastian over his words. But at that moment, Isabella really couldn't control herself.
When Sebastian destroyed the Wallace family and schemed against her, pretending to be an angel while being a devil, it had already made her collapse. Then he said those sarcastic and accusatory words, calling her fickle. She really couldn't stay rational.
"It hurts!" A sharp pain shot through Isabella's wrist, as if it was about to be twisted off. Instantly, she opened her eyes and cried out in pain.
Sebastian didn't pay any attention to her or let her go. He dragged her out of the car. Isabella was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't realize they had returned to Willowbrook Estate.
