Chapter 56 She's So Fortunate
"Yeah," Anthony agreed.
"What gossip could he possibly have..." Anthony waved his hand nonchalantly. "He's all about work, meetings, business trips. When he's in a good mood, he exercises a bit. When he's not, he scolds his subordinates as if he's some sort of lord."
"Is that so?" Isabella chuckled. "I thought he would have some romantic history."
"He always has this stern appearance, as cold as an iceberg. Women freeze just by being near him. I'm curious, Isabella, how did you manage to win over Sebastian?"
"Uh..." Isabella laughed awkwardly. "It was nothing special."
"Maybe he fell into your hands. They say one thing attracts another." Anthony put down his chopsticks. "Give me a nephew soon."
After finishing the meal, Anthony only ate a few pieces of beef and half a bowl of salad. Isabella had witnessed the appetite of a female celebrity.
Isabella didn't manage to inquire about the details regarding "her" from Anthony, causing her to feel a little frustrated. Did Anthony really not know about it? Or were Grace and Jarod lying?
She couldn't figure it out, and this question became a thorn in her heart.
When Isabella returned to Lawrence Group, she noticed something strange as soon as she stepped out of the elevator. Normally, there would be secretaries hurrying with files and other employees going about their work, but today... not a single person was in sight.
Did she got off at the wrong level?
Isabella glanced around, confirming that she was indeed on the floor where the president's office was located.
Just as she was about to check the time to see if it was still before work hours, she heard a loud bang coming from the president's office. It sounded like something had crashed and shattered into pieces.
Isabella approached and heard Sebastian's furious voice from inside the office, "Who's really in charge of Lawrence Group, huh?"
"Jarod is the general manager, but he doesn't have actual power, understand?"
"He tells you to change the plan, you change it. He tells you to change the schedule, you change it. He tells you to change the design, and you change it anyway!"
"Who are you working for? Did I approve such a major change with my signature?"
The yelling ended, followed by another "clap," as if a glass had been shattered.
Isabella shuddered and cautiously walked closer to the slightly ajar door, peering inside.
Sebastian was wearing a sky-blue shirt, hands on hips. From her angle, she could see the veins popping on his forehead and neck, which made him looked intimidating.
Although Isabella had angered him many times before, she had never seen him this furious.
Suddenly, she felt that Sebastian still harbored some tenderness towards her.
If Sebastian yelled at her like this, she would probably burst into tears right then and there, unable to utter a word.
Perhaps sensing someone at the door, Sebastian glanced in her direction.
Sebastian, without even glancing, turned his back and stood in front of the French window, "Just come in! What are you sneaking around for!"
She got busted.
Isabella lowered her head and slowly pushed the door open to enter.
A few executives who were being reprimanded in the office glanced at her but didn't recognize her.
Kaine immediately shouted, "Madam."
Sebastian's figure stiffened slightly, then he turned around and saw her, "It's you?"
"Yeah, it's me at the door," Isabella honestly replied, "You...you're so fierce."
Kaine nervously looked at Mr. Lawrence.
There was silence for a few seconds, and Sebastian's voice softened a lot, "I wasn't talking about you."
