Chapter 356 I am Mrs. Sinclair, Brittany, don't even think about it
Nicole didn't care about her fear of Sebastian and nervously tried to grab his wrist.
Sebastian coldly dodged her touch and left the room without a word, leaving Nicole behind.
Nicole got the message, lifted her dress, and stepped into the room.
Seeing the haggard Joshua on the bed, she froze.
"Joshua!" she cried, rushing to his side and grabbing his arm, tears streaming down her face. "How are you? I shouldn't have left you alone last night."
Joshua pulled his hand away and leaned back against the bed.
His relaxed expression was gone, replaced by a furrowed brow. "I told you, don't call me that."
Nicole's sobbing paused, she sniffled, and then the tears started falling again.
"But I'm your fiancée." Nicole stood up, lifted her dress, and twirled in front of Joshua with a stubborn look in her eyes. "Look, I was supposed to wear this dress today for our engagement."
"Go back; this isn't a place for you." Joshua closed his eyes. "The engagement is off. Stop bothering me. Find someone who loves you and live a good life. I won't mistreat you. I'll handle the rest."
Joshua's heart was cold, his blood icy, and he couldn't show any sympathy.
At this moment, Joshua felt it was time to end things. The goal was achieved, and there was no need to drag it out with Nicole.
Nicole stood frozen, a cold chill creeping from her feet to her limbs.
"No way!" She shook her head. "I want to stay by your side! Joshua, I won't leave! You promised I would be Mrs. Sinclair."
Nicole sneered, "Don't push me. I know what you're afraid of; I know everything!"
After threatening Joshua, Nicole turned and ran out.
She ran all the way to the elevator, randomly pressed a floor, and curled up in a corner, covering her face and crying.
Nicole's heart kept contracting, the pain continuous, with two voices constantly shouting in her ears.
One voice told her to persist, to hold on tightly to the Joshua she loved deeply.
The other voice said she should give up, that she should wake up.
Nicole wasn't happy, neither was Joshua nor Brittany.
It should end.
Nicole didn't know how to choose. She couldn't tell whether she was more upset that Joshua didn't love her or she was sad that Joshua was unhappy and unhealthy.
She wanted Joshua to love her, but that was destined to be impossible.
So, did she want Joshua to be happy and healthy? That seemed very simple.
She just needed to leave Joshua to Brittany.
Nicole didn't dare to think about it. What if Joshua's body recovered when Brittany returned to him?
By then, if Brittany and Joshua reconciled, what about her?
Tears flowed through her fingers. Nicole had to admit she was selfish; she couldn't do it.
But she was so conflicted. Perhaps, with Brittany's company, Joshua could recover.
Her phone kept ringing. Nicole wiped away her tears, stepped out of the elevator, and answered the call, "Dad."
Paul rarely used a pleading tone, "Nicole, how is Mr. Sinclair now? Is he seriously injured in the car accident? Has he woken up?"
"I heard that many people have complications after car accidents. If Mr. Sinclair has any issues, you two should break up. You're still young; you can find someone better."
"Also, Mr. Sinclair just called me. He was not in good condition. And your aunt and cousin..."
"No." Nicole quickly interrupted.
She didn't expect Joshua to act so fast, already notifying the Garcia family!
Nicole staggered a few steps, steadied herself, and shouted into the phone, "I don't agree! I won't break off the engagement. I am Mrs. Sinclair; Brittany can forget about it!"
After shouting, Nicole hung up fiercely.
The hospital was bustling, and passersby looked at Nicole with puzzled eyes.
Nicole just lowered her head and ran outside.
Isabella was initially planning to return to Willowbrook Estate. Halfway there, she remembered it was Saturday and she had a prenatal class to attend, so she turned back.
As she entered the lobby, she ran into the emotionally charged Nicole.
After Nicole left, Isabella came out from the corner, looking puzzled.
She felt there was something strange between Nicole and Joshua. But what exactly?
Isabella pondered.
Suddenly, she heard rapid footsteps, and someone came running towards her.
She looked towards the source of the sound and saw someone, wearing a baseball cap, running as if being chased, occasionally looking back and not watching his path.
Isabella, afraid of being hit, quickly moved aside.
She reacted quickly and avoided the reckless passerby. He brushed past her, bringing a gust of wind.
After steadying herself, Isabella thought how impatient he was. If she had moved a bit slower, she would have been hit, and worse, she could have been knocked down.
Thinking about the baby almost being in danger, Isabella glanced at the person who ran past.
David noticeably slowed down, turning back to look at her.
He had a rather handsome face, looking about eighteen, and had a bit of guilt in his eyes as he looked at her.
Guilty about what?
Most likely because he almost hit her just now.
Isabella didn't need to argue with a kid who looked like he had just come of age. She smiled slightly and then looked away.
David's hand tightly clutched a voice recorder. He looked at Isabella's back, a thought flashing through his mind.
He was about to throw the voice recorder to Isabella when she left.
A trace of annoyance crept onto David's young face.
Isabella turned her head, took a few steps forward, and suddenly froze. David's appearance seemed familiar now.
But where had she seen him before? Isabella couldn't remember.
She tried to take another look when she heard someone say, "Make way."
Isabella looked back and saw several doctors and nurses urgently pushing a stretcher forward.
Isabella vaguely saw a bloodied face on the stretcher. She gasped and immediately stepped aside, catching a glimpse of an old man with a cane beside her.
The elder man seemed to have some hearing issues. Isabella quickly supported the elder man's arm and helped him step aside.
Sebastian came down from the elevator, issuing several tasks to Kaine on his phone.
He put down his phone and looked up, unexpectedly seeing Isabella, who was supposed to return to Willowbrook Estate, smiling and talking to a stranger.
