Chapter 280 Man's Possessiveness
Isabella didn't know what kind of disaster her provocation would bring her this time.
Around the corner, Lynda gritted her teeth and said to the person on the phone, "Follow her whenever you have the chance. Report to me everything she says and does! Money is not a problem!"
On this side, Isabella absentmindedly spoke to Sebastian, and she wasn't very happy inside.
Even if Sebastian was just acting, she didn't want to use him to provoke Lynda.
Sebastian... was not her pawn, even if Sebastian treated her like one... Isabella silently apologized in her heart and followed Sebastian into the elevator.
Since returning from her business trip, Sebastian's behavior in the company had become impulsive, without any effort to hide their relationship.
Over time, Isabella had gotten used to it.
When they arrived at the top floor, Isabella went to the lounge to take a nap.
After waking up, her alarm clock rang.
Isabella tapped her head and suddenly remembered that she had promised to accompany Brittany to the airport last night to pick up an old friend.
Brittany's old friend was a man, Brittany was worried that Joshua would cause trouble, so she asked Isabella to go with her.
Isabella had no reason to not help her.
Moreover, this old friend of Brittany's was a gynecologist, a well-known expert in treating gynecological problems according to rumors. Isabella had heard Brittany mention it before.
Isabella had a faint feeling that this person would be useful. So, she had to meet him.
Pregnancy made one forgetful, and Isabella could feel that her memory was not as good as it used to be. She even forgot such important things.
She patted her abdomen and smiled indulgently.
Isabella sent a message to Sebastian, took a leave of absence, and then quietly slipped away with her bag.
Sebastian had been acting strange lately, particularly in restricting her interactions with Brittany. It was as if Brittany was going to abduct her. Isabella couldn't help but feel dumbfounded.
Knowing that Sebastian would certainly come up with various reasons to stop her from meeting Brittany, Isabella wasted no time and went straight into the CEO's private elevator, heading downstairs.
In the lobby, Brittany was sitting on a bench, waiting.
The two of them hadn't seen each other for at least two weeks, and their only contact was through WeChat messages. Isabella was excited and raised her hand high, saying, "Brittany!"
Brittany had a cool temperament and rarely showed her emotions in public, but Isabella was not just anyone, so Brittany immediately revealed a beautiful smile.
"Let's go, hurry up," Isabella said with a smile, "or else I won't be able to leave. We can talk on the way."
Isabella's phone buzzed as soon as she finished speaking. She opened the message.
The Great Demon King: [No.]
Isabella stuck her tongue out at the screen and replied to his message.
Isabella: [I will be careful.]
Observing Isabella's expression, Brittany furrowed her brows and said, "You two seem to have a good relationship now."
Isabella didn't need to hide anything from Brittany. She forced a bitter smile and said, "I'll tell you at the airport. There are too many people here, and it's not convenient."
Brittany understood most of what she meant. She smirked sarcastically.
On the top floor of the Lwarence Group building, Sebastian stood by the window, vaguely seeing two tiny figures with his brows furrowed. However, before anyone knocked on the door, it was pushed open.
In the Lwarence Group, only Joshua had this privilege of this habit.
"Can't you control your woman?" Sebastian didn't even bother to look and spoke directly.
"What's wrong with my woman?" Joshua, who cherished his woman, said, "My Brittany is so good. Sebastian, why do you despise her? To be close with your wife is her honor, isn't it?"
Sebastian couldn't be bothered to argue with a sick person. He turned around, glancing at Joshua, and his expression instantly darkened. "Have you looked in the mirror before leaving the house?" he asked.
There was almost no color left on Joshua's face as if he was seriously ill.
Joshua sat on the sofa, hands resting on the chair, leaning back with a tired expression, and said, "I missed you. Otherwise, why would I come all this way?"
Sebastian chided, "If you have something to say, just say it. Don't come here to disgust me."
Joshua teased playfully, "I missed you, missed you, missed you."
Kaine came to deliver some documents and heard this because the door was not closed. He was stunned, with a dumbfounded expression.
He cleared his throat, got Sebastian's permission, placed the documents on the table, and quickly turned to leave.
Just as Kaine was about to gently close the door...
"Arrange a few bodyguards to go to the airport and accompany the lady," Sebastian commanded. "Find her and bring her back. Don't let her come into contact with random people."
Joshua sat up straight. "Sebastian, I'm still here. Who are you calling random people?" he questioned.
Kaine hurriedly ran away, afraid of getting scolded.
So complicated, a love square?
After the door closed, Sebastian glanced at Joshua and calmly leaned back in his chair. "I didn't mention you. I just think that Mrs. Lawrence and I will be together for a long time. I have no intention of separating. Therefore, I must prevent her from getting involved with other men."
Joshua was taken aback, and asked, "What do you mean? What man? What airport? Isn't it just going shopping with your sisters?"
Sebastian shook his index finger but didn't say anything. Instead, he asked, "What's the matter with you coming to find me?"
"Let's talk about it another day." Joshua knew he had been deceived by Brittany. He held his hand tight, clenched his fist, and got up to leave.
Sebastian advised him, "Why hide it from her? If you're so worried that she's with another man, you should tell her the truth and keep her by your side."
Joshua's footsteps slightly paused.
"Since you're in love, it's unreasonable to let her go," Sebastian's voice was cold and powerful, "She belongs to you whether she's alive or dead. Even if you pass away, she should think of you for the rest of her life. She can only have you as a man. She can dream of remarrying or having another man."
Joshua's throat tightened, he closed his eyes and sighed.
After a while, he turned his head, "Isabella is really pitiful. Your possessiveness is something most women can't resist."
Sebastian neither confirmed nor denied it. He tapped the table lightly and said, "I'm just reminding you that if you love her, you should tell Brittany about your situation. There's no need to bear the pain alone."
"Also, I've seen the chat records between her and Isabella," Sebastian said. "They had a conversation before, Isabella and I made things clear. Brittany tried to instigate Isabella to divorce, which shows how much she wants to leave you."
Joshua stiffened his back, his heart was like a sieve, his face remained unchanged but his dim eyebrows and eyes revealed his emotions.
"Don't tell her," Joshua's lips trembled, he lowered his voice and repeated, "Don't tell her anything about me. She can't lose the ability to pursue freedom and happiness. I'm only keeping her with me for the time being."
Sebastian had nothing to say, he couldn't understand Joshua's approach.
If it were him, this would never happen.
Sebastian replied, "Up to you."
