Chapter 210 Running with a Baby, Even More Unrealistic

The director looked at the test results in his hand, "At present, the examination shows that everything seems normal. However, a detailed and comprehensive examination is needed in a few days. Subsequently, various prenatal examinations should also be scheduled."
"Alright," Sebastian nodded, "I’ll make the arrangements."
" Mrs. Lawrence, it's important for you to focus on maintaining a balanced diet and ensuring good nutrition. Try not to be too picky with your food; you need to have a good balance in your diet. In addition, maintaining a happy mood and doing appropriate aerobic exercises will also benefit you and the fetus."
The director gave them a lot of advice, and Sebastian was listening carefully to every single word, almost to the point of taking out a notebook to write them down.
However, Isabella asked, "But, I haven't been feeling well recently. I always feel nauseous; I’m dry heaving, and whatever I eat, I vomit..."
"That's morning sickness, a normal symptom in early pregnancy," the director answered, "It's nothing; it will pass."
"Alright..."
Wasn’t throwing up whatever she ate a bit too uncomfortable?
Sebastian frowned as he looked at her, "Why didn't you tell me before?"
"You never asked me before."
His face looked a bit gloomy. He turned and asked the director, "Can we only endure it? Isn't there any other way? Medication or..."
"No," the director said, "If it becomes severe, to the point where she cannot eat at all, then hospital treatment is necessary. But in general, for milder cases, we suggest that pregnant women adjust and adapt on their own."
Sebastian's eyebrows were deeply furrowed, but he didn't say anything else.
Isabella stood up, "Thank you."
After saying that, she left without even glancing at Sebastian.
He turned around and followed her, looking as if he were pondering a deep problem.
Morning sickness... He realized he might need to seek advice from those with experience on how to alleviate it.
While sitting in the car, Isabella still didn't speak. She held her phone with a blank expression, ignoring Sebastian.
"What's wrong?" He asked, "Are you upset because I didn't let you meet Brittany?"
She didn't say a word.
"You've just confirmed your pregnancy; you should rest at home."
She still didn't speak.
In a soft voice, Sebastian tried to soothe her, "If you want, I can arrange for you to see Brittany tomorrow."
"No need," Isabella replied coldly, "Don't bother yourself with such a trivial matter."
"Isabella..." He frowned, " Now that your pregnancy is confirmed, we shouldn’t keep this good new to ourselves. It should be shared."
"Shared?"
"With the Lawrence Family."
Isabella laughed, "Whatever you say. After all, you control everything. Even if I have a different opinion, you won't listen."
She spoke so gently, so softly, but to Sebastian? Every word was like a knife to his heart.
He didn't consider her feelings at all.
Isabella wanted to see Brittany.
Ever since the last time, when she accidentally saw Joshua bullying Brittany at the elevator door, she hadn't seen Brittany again.
When she messaged Brittany, Brittany just said there was nothing wrong.
How could that be possible?! There must be something she was not telling her!
After so much effort, Isabella had finally managed to arrange a meeting with Brittany today after her check-up, but Sebastian quashed it.
Sebastian didn’t know what to say, and the car fell into silence.
After a while, he started the car.
Isabella thought he was going to drive towards the Lawrence family home, but then she heard him ask, "Location."
"Huh?"
"Where did you arrange to meet Brittany?"
Isabella finally understood, "You're going to take me there?"
"One hour," Sebastian said, "I'll give you, and her one hour to meet."
What was he up to?
Just a few moments ago, he was just reluctant, only talking about sharing her pregnancy news with the Lawrence family, and now, he was personally taking her to meet Brittany?
She was absolutely floored by his sudden change of heart. Oh how delightfully unpredictable he could be!
Isabella sighed, "Sebastian, you're always like this. You hurt me, then try to sweeten the blow..."
No matter how sweet the gesture, it didn't feel as good after he had just hurt her.
She paused, then added, "But when you think about it, it's probably better than receiving a sweet gesture, not even having the time to appreciate it, and then getting hurt. Either way, it seems the hurt is inevitable."
Sebastian gripped the steering wheel tightly, "In your eyes, am I really that kind of person?"
"Aren't you?"
His Adam's apple bobbed, and the corners of his mouth lifted slightly into a smile, "You're right, Isabella; I am that kind of person."
By the time Isabella arrived at the agreed-upon location, Brittany was already seated in a booth by the window, sipping a glass of lemon water.
Upon seeing Sebastian, she was taken aback, obviously not expecting the big boss to show up there.
However, Isabella turned to Sebastian and whispered something to him. Sebastian gave a slight nod and then, led by a waiter, walked to a single seat nearby and sat down.
Only then did Isabella walk over and sit down in front of Brittany.
After witnessing this, Brittany became somewhat confused, "What... what's going on?!"
"He initially didn't allow me to come, but then agreed." Isabella replied, "But the condition was that he would drive me here and that our meet-up should only last an hour. He's sitting there, waiting to pick me up when the time's up."
Brittany was dumbfounded.
She looked in the direction where Sebastian was seated. He had already pulled out his laptop and was resting his slender fingers on the keyboard with a steaming cup of coffee sat next to him.
"I never thought I'd see the day..." Brittany responded, "Has Sebastian become a henpecked husband? He can't even bear to be separated from you for a minute; he must want you in his sights at all times."
"I'm more like his slave; you should say he's keeping an eye on me."
"I think his posture suggests more that he's afraid you'll run away."
Isabella laughed, "Run? Where could I possibly run to? Now, running away with a baby is even less realistic."
"Run with what... what?" Brittany suddenly widened her eyes and stared at Isabella in disbelief, "What did you say? Say it again?"
"I'm pregnant," Isabella replied, "I just came from the hospital."
Brittany opened her mouth but nothing came out. She was at a loss for words.
Sebastian and Isabella's marriage had been quite sudden, and now her pregnancy was just as abrupt.
Both events had progressed so quickly, leaving no time for anyone to adjust.
After a long pause, she finally asked, "Are you sure you're pregnant? Did the hospital give you the test results?"
"Yes." Isabella nodded, "Why would I lie to you about something like this?"
"Isabella..."
"I know what you're thinking, Brittany."
"Your pregnancy won't change Sebastian's mind," Brittany looked at her, "You can't possibly use a child to tie him down."
"But this child... is what Sebastian wants."
Brittany was puzzled, "With a child, Isabella, it will be even harder for you to leave Sebastian."
"You were right, Brittany... I love him." She lowered her eyes, "Now, I finally have the courage to face my own feelings."
