Chapter 381 You trust Isabella, but not me?

The sun had been brutal lately. Just a quick trip outside left Lynda's face feeling scorched.

As soon as she got back, she showered and put on a face mask.

When the door opened, Lynda was lying on the bed with her eyes closed.

"I've told you a million times. Don't come in without asking." She tapped her forehead, sounding both smug and superior.

Sebastian's eyes locked onto Lynda's face. Seeing her, he felt a strange sense of unfamiliarity.

Maybe it was Sebastian's cold stare or his strong presence, but Lynda's eyebrows arched as she slowly opened her eyes.

Their eyes met, and Lynda was startled.

Her eyes darkened, and then her pupils contracted. "Sebastian?"

Lynda's heart raced. She ripped off the face mask and grabbed a wet wipe to clean her face.

"Why are you here?" She forced a smile, but her lips were tight, and the corners of her mouth barely lifted.

Sebastian looked at her coldly.

Lynda got off the bed, uneasy. She walked over, smiling, "Sebastian, why so serious?"

Then, as if something clicked, her smile vanished. She grabbed Sebastian's arm. "Did something happen to Miss Wallace?"

"Aren't you tired?" Sebastian asked calmly, his voice low, almost like he was just concerned.

Lynda didn't know what had happened, but she had a guess. Something must have come out.

Her already fragile heart filled with anxiety, her heartbeat slowing, then speeding up.

"Me, tired?" Lynda shook her head. "How could I be tired? Even if I wanted to be busy, this frail body wouldn't allow it."

Disappointment filled Sebastian's brown eyes.

He scoffed and got straight to the point. "Grace was released with Samuel's help. The driver at fault is her. Scheming everything to this point isn't busy enough?"

Lynda was shocked, her eyes wide.

The room fell silent.

"What are you talking about?" Lynda kept denying it. "Grace? Released? I don't understand what you mean, Sebastian."

"Pushing Isabella to the ground, trying to make her miscarry. The child isn't gone yet. Are you disappointed?" Sebastian had no patience for her act, cutting straight to the chase.

He gripped his phone tightly, took a step forward, hooked the door, and kicked it shut.

Lynda stepped back, her legs weak. She shook her head, her face pale, shouting, "Sebastian, what are you talking about?"

"How could you slander me!" Lynda started to cry, her chest heaving like she was having a heart attack. "I knelt to Samuel to save your child and your wife, sacrificing my own marriage!"

Sebastian threw the phone into her arms. "Slander? The surveillance video is right here. See for yourself."

Lynda didn't understand why the video exposed her pushing action. She had been so careful!

She didn't dare to look.

She knew that if she looked, it would all be over.

Lynda's eyes were red as she refused, "I won't look! I didn't do it. Why should I look! Sebastian, you're only humiliating me!"

"Really?" Sebastian retorted. "That's exactly what I want to ask you. You deceived me over and over again. Do you think I am dumb?"

"I didn't!" Lynda shook her head frantically. "I didn't!"

Sebastian stayed calm, looking sharp in his suit and perfectly knotted tie, showing no emotion.

Lynda was falling apart, but he remained indifferent.

He walked over and pulled the phone from Lynda's hands.

She held on tightly at first, but her strength was no match for his.

Sebastian unlocked the phone and was about to play the video from Serenity Way when Lynda hugged him.

"Sebastian, don't. Don't be so cruel to me." She buried her face in his chest, trembling and pleading. "Give me a chance, please. I'll say whatever you want me to say!"

Sebastian stared at the wall in front of him.

The wall was white, but he saw glaring blood.

He spoke, his voice trembling, "Fine, tell me why you pushed her. How did you push her, and what were you thinking after you did it?"

"I..."

"All blood. No, not blood. It's the bastard in your womb." Sebastian struggled to repeat Isabella's words from yesterday. "That's what you said, right?"

It was so hard that his action of pushing Lynda away seemed weak.

Someone he could have easily pushed away, Sebastian had to push several times to get her off.

Lynda fell to the ground, looking up at Sebastian in shock. "You pushed me? You believe Isabella and not me?"

Sebastian was exhausted.

He briefly closed his eyes, and when he opened them, his brown eyes were deep, like an ancient abyss. Even the air around him seemed frozen.

"If I truly believed her, I would have come yesterday." He sneered self-deprecatingly, "Unfortunately, I came today. Your performance of begging Samuel for blood yesterday was too successful. I have to admit, I fell into your trap."

Lynda trembled, tears streaming down her face, dripping onto the floor. "I was sincere. I did it for you!"

"You still won't admit it," Sebastian said. "I could have gotten Samuel to donate blood without you. I know you never knew Isabella had RH blood type. But coincidentally, someone around you does."

Sebastian bent down, pinching Lynda's chin, forcing her to look at him. "You knew I would find Samuel, so you left early to find him and put on this show. Just so I would see it when I went to find Samuel."

"No!" Lynda's face showed panic and fear. "I didn't!"

Now, she didn't know what else to say except to deny it. She could only keep denying.

"What benefit do I get from doing this? None."

Sebastian's phone pressed against Lynda's lips. He shook his head and said lightly, "Lynda, I don't like being interrupted when I speak, remember?"

Lynda's heart ached, Sebastian's tone made her hands and feet cold, her limbs trembling, she was scared.

Sebastian was pleased with her silence, his thin lips curling into a cold smile.

After a while, he asked, "Benefit? Let me guess."

He paused slightly, then said, "At that time, I doubted your love for me, and you denied it. Now it seems, wasn't it to convince me? It was really successful. I was convinced yesterday."
