Chapter 224 Love Me, Don't Dislike Me

Kaine scratched his head, "Mr. Lawrence, the contract that needed your signature this afternoon; you haven't given it to me yet."
Sebastian glanced at the piled-up files on his desk, "You can go home; we'll talk about it tomorrow."
"Yes."
Before Kaine left, he inadvertently glanced at his boss’ desk and saw that many contracts hadn't been dealt with. The only thing Sebastian was focused on was the tablet in front of him, playing real-time surveillance footage.
The person on the surveillance seemed to be... Mrs. Lawrence? It was footage of her in the room next door.
Did Mr. Lawrence neglect work because of Mrs. Lawrence? Had he been secretly watching Mrs. Lawrence all afternoon?
Was that his boss’ kink?
Kaine seemed to have discovered a huge secret. He took two quick steps and planned to go back to share this news with Emily.
The CEO's office fell quiet again.
Sebastian pinched the bridge of his nose, opened his email, and clicked on the hospital's surveillance.
He watched it intently.
It turned out that Isabella had not gone back on her word. The surveillance in Marcus' hospital room showed that Isabella never went to see him.
He... was wrong.
Sebastian's dark and dangerous eyes gradually lost their malice, and his clenched hands also slowly loosened.
In an instant, all his anger and frustrations were gone, and he began exuding a happy and calm air.
In the next office.
Isabella, who was thinking about the plan, inexplicably fell asleep on the table.
Her baby must be a sleep addict; otherwise, why would she love to sleep so much after getting pregnant?
She had even taken a nap at noon.
Sebastian came over as soon as she fell asleep and stood by her side watching her.
Her face was clean, pink, moist, and shiny, like a peach. She was white and rosy and emitted a sweet smell, which would tempt anyone to take a bite out of her.
Sebastian impulsively poked Isabella's face. However, he was not satisfied, and he pinched it twice more.
This didn't quench his thirst either. His Adam's apple rolled twice, and his thin lips pulled into a straight line.
Then, he bent down, landing his thin lips on her sweet face.
He was satisfied for a moment, but a few seconds later, his desires were stirred again.
Sebastian's gaze stayed on Isabella's moist lips.
He didn't notice at all that Isabella's eyelashes were moving.
Don't poke me!
Don't pinch me!
Don't lick me!
"Buddy!" Isabella dreamed of the mutt her family picked up when she was very young, who always loved to bother her when she was sleeping.
Without thinking, she slapped it.
Isabella was startled when she heard a faint smack sound; she was even more surprised b the sensation she felt in her palm.
Was it a dream? Or reality?
She sat up abruptly, fighting off sleep, and opened her eyes wide.
"Sebastian?" Isabella quickly stood up, "When did you get here?"
Did she... hit Sebastian just now?
If she really hit Sebastian; what was Sebastian doing at the time?
She clearly felt something licking her.
Sebastian stood straight. Although he seemed a bit unnatural, his awkwardness was well concealed; it wouldn't be noticeable.
He asked her lightly, "What did you dream about? I saw you slap the table, and you shouted, 'Buddy?'"
Thank goodness, Isabella exhaled.
Thank goodness she didn't hit him, and that he didn't do anything like secretly kissing her... It would have been a bit weird.
"It's just an old dog I took in when I was a kid; I named him Buddy. He was always mischievous; he loved to rub against me for fun; I guess I dreamt of him." Isabella picked up her bag, "Let's go, it's almost time for the baby's meal; we should go home too."
She walked ahead, naturally not seeing how strange Sebastian's face was.
Old dog? Always mischievous? Was she implying something?
Did Isabella know he kissed her secretly?
Sebastian had kissed Isabella many times before; he didn't understand why he didn't admit it this time.
Perhaps because it was secretive? Or was he... unbelievably shy?
Whichever it was, Sebastian would never admit.
Isabella walked ahead with her head down.
Suddenly, she felt her bag lighten - it had been snatched away.
Before she could even turn around, Sebastian stepped up to her; her bag was in one hand, and the other was wrapped around her waist.
Isabella stiffened, and her heart tightened. What was going on with him today?
Catching a glimpse of Sebastian from the corner of her eye, Isabella quickly averted her gaze.
She decided to consider it as him looking after a child.
Isabella didn't want to waste her brain power thinking about it. After all, Sebastian must have had a motive, and she was done trying to figure out his thoughts.
He was just a business partner; she couldn't control how he treated her. In any case, she wouldn't overstep her boundaries again.
The two of them got along without issue on the way back. They returned to Willowbrook Estate for dinner, each eating their own meal.
Suddenly, Sebastian, seemingly out of the blue, asked, "Do you like dogs?"
"I guess; I don't particularly like them, but I don't dislike them either," Isabella replied, "Why do you ask all of a sudden?"
"I thought you liked them."
"You're talking about that dream, aren't you?" Isabella said, "Buddy was just a mutt; he wasn’t cute or adorable, just not annoying, I guess. I wasn’t particularly fond of him; he was just an ordinary... family member... I suppose he was a family member."
As she continued, Isabella's voice grew softer, "Why are you looking at me like that? Did I say something wrong?"
There was a sharp pain in Sebastian's eyes that Isabella caught.
It was like a needle, pricking Isabella slightly.
Sebastian didn't answer.
Feeling awkward, Isabella shrugged her shoulders and quickly finished her last bite of food, "I'm done eating; I'll go upstairs first."
She was about to leave.
She had only taken a few steps, having climbed five or six stairs, when she was pulled back. The next moment, she was pressed against the wall.
A large hand protected the back of her head as a broad chest and another arm encased her in a small, hot space.
Then, a passionate kiss sealed her lips.
Isabella had no chance to resist.
The kiss was passionate, intense, and bitter.
"Love me, Isabella," Sebastian finally let her go after what felt like an eternity, his voice hoarse as he softly said, "Don't dislike me."
His voice was very low, "I don't want to be just your... family member."
This left Isabella dumbfounded.
What was Sebastian saying?
Love him?
Isabella's aimless gaze gradually focused, and she slowly became calm after that dizzying kiss.
She wiped her mouth with her sleeve, smiled, and asked, "Sebastian, don't you think you're being selfish? You don't love me, but you want me to love you. Mr. Lawrence, could you please know your place? We are..."
She pointed at herself, then at Sebastian, slowly saying, "In a transaction."
Sebastian's aura gradually cooled.
"No," Isabella frowned, "I was talking about Buddy just now; why did you suddenly do this? You're not Buddy..."
Something emerged in her mind.
Isabella's eyes widened, "You thought I was making things up? You thought you were Buddy?"
"So, when I was sleeping, you... kissed me secretly?"
"But why, Sebastian?" Isabella's slender body stiffened, and she shook her head repeatedly, "You don't love me, but you kissed me secretly? I don't understand..."
