Chapter 83 Did I Cause Trouble for You Again?

"Mr. Lawrence..."

"I won't make things difficult for you either," he said. "Just stand here, wait, and watch closely to see what fate awaits him today."

Finishing his sentence, Sebastian glanced at Isabella and softened his voice. "I will help you reclaim what's rightfully yours, I promise."

Isabella lowered her head.

Sebastian gently placed his palm on her cheek, as if trying to alleviate the pain caused by the slap.

It was futile, in truth.

However, at this moment, Isabella felt that nothing could compare to him holding her, speaking in a gentle and caring manner.

"Did I cause trouble for you again?" Isabella asked. "But this time, I truly did nothing. It was him... he was the one who struck first."

"I know."

Isabella wanted to say more, but Sebastian silenced her with a finger on her lips. "Let's talk about it slowly when we get home, alright?"

She nodded.

Sebastian straightened her clothes with his hand, ensuring that nothing was exposed, finally feeling relieved.

At this time, the three others in the game room also arrived.

In truth, they had been there for a while, but they only witnessed the commotion from a corner, without intervening or saying anything.

It was only now, after things had settled down, that they appeared.

After all, Sebastian couldn't afford to offend. Bob was Watson's only son, the devil incarnate, and he couldn't be provoked too much.

Each of them was cunning.

"Mr. Lawrence," George spoke first. "I never expected such an incident to occur when Mrs. Lawrence went out to buy cigarettes. Ah... fortunately, nothing serious happened in the end."

Bob looked up, gazing at the three individuals in front of him. Suddenly, he got up and grabbed someone's trouser leg.

"Uncle Nick, it's me," Bob pleaded. "Please help me, I beg you. Otherwise... maybe you could call my father right now!"

Uncle Nick glanced at Sebastian's expression, then looked at Bob's predicament. He was also caught in a dilemma.

Both sides were not easy to offend.

"You, you audacious fool," Nick said. "Is Mr. Lawrence's wife just an ordinary person? Are you allowed to treat her as you please? Even if your father were here, I doubt he could save you!"

"Uncle Nick, you can't ignore me..."

"Bow your head, apologize in person another day, and visit Mrs. Lawrence to make amends. An apology should be sincere, and this matter is not trivial."

Bob also understood the implications. Ignoring the pain in his body, he quickly got up, respectfully and properly bowed to Isabella. "Mrs. Lawrence, you are a magnanimous person. Please don't regard me as scum."

Sebastian's aura remained powerful throughout.

His brows and eyes were full of solemn murder. Just the thought of the scene he witnessed when he arrived made his heart ache.

If he had only arrived a second later...

The consequences would have been unimaginable.

Isabella shook her head. “Don’t ask me for forgiveness. I won’t forgive you.”

She wasn't a saint, nor was she that kind-hearted to be able to let go of everything.

He was a person who had cursed her with foul language, teased her in every word, slapped her, dragged her into the elevator, and threatened to have her even under surveillance...
Why should she let him off the hook?

Some things can be forgiven and overlooked, but there are certain limits.

Moreover, she also knew that this Bob must have a powerful background, considering how arrogant and domineering he was, and he probably had been involved in many evil deeds.

Now he apologizes, but it's only because Sebastian's power is too strong, and he temporarily succumbs. It's not a sincere apology.

Bob was taken aback. He didn't expect this woman to be so unyielding, not giving him a shred of face. He hesitated for a moment, then looked towards his friend and Sebastian's three poker buddies.

George forced a few dry laughs. "Yes, yes, Bob went too far with what he did. We can't go easy on him... Mrs. Lawrence, what do you think? Or perhaps, let me teach him a lesson and slap him a few times."

"Yes, yes," Nick agreed. "Mrs. Lawrence, with your delicate and noble identity, let us take care of this matter for you. Bob truly deserves a beating."

These people were trying to smooth things over.

They pretended to fan Bob a few times, said a few nice words, and were attempting to brush this incident aside.

"In the future, you will continue to harm others," Isabella said. "If I were not Mrs. Lawrence but just an ordinary girl taking the elevator, and I encountered you... you would have ruined her life."

George and Nick’s expressions turned slightly ugly.

This Mrs. Lawrence was clearly not giving them any respect.

However, the final decision had to be made by Sebastian.

Isabella continued, "Even with the surveillance cameras filming, you're not afraid. You even boast that the surveillance won't stop you... Think of how many good people have been bullied by someone like you."

Bob knelt in front of her. “Mrs. Lawrence...”

She turned her head and leaned into Sebastian's embrace. "I'm tired. I want to go home."

He replied softly, "Alright."

Sebastian held her and glanced at Bob, calmly saying, "The son of Watson? Then come with me."

The others remained silent.

Mr. Lawrence was determined to make Bob pay the price, and no amount of persuasion would work, especially since Mrs. Lawrence didn't budge.

The outcome seemed grim.

Sebastian embraced Isabella and entered the elevator.

He left. Bob collapsed on the ground, his limbs icy cold, his eyes empty.

"You, you," George sighed, "Nick and I tried to help you, but as you saw, it was useless. Why did you have to go after Mrs. Lawrence? How could Mr. Lawrence not be furious?"

"I, I..."

Bob's friends quickly slipped away.

On the way, Isabella silently leaned against Sebastian's chest, motionless, as docile as a little kitten.

She still felt lingering fear.

Thinking back to those people, how they pleaded and spoke in defense of Bob, she felt even more sorrowful.

If Sebastian didn't care about her as much, if his possessiveness wasn't so strong, if Sebastian married her not just for a child, then... could today's incident be regarded as a thing of the past?

Sebastian lowered his head and looked at her in his arms, a furrow forming between his brows.

He liked it when she quietly stayed in his embrace, but he didn't want her to be sad like this.

He gently stroked her long hair.

Isabella shrank a little, then snuggled deeper into his embrace.

Back at Willowbrook Estate, she headed straight for the bathroom, wanting to take a good bath.

The torn shirt and Sebastian's suit jacket were all thrown into the laundry basket by her.

Sebastian stood in the corridor, looking at the butler knocking on the door, asking, "What's the matter?"
