Chapter 47 He Inherits Everything Afterwards

Isabella paused while peeling a pomegranate. "News about the wedding?"

"Yeah, haven't you seen the news?"

She hadn't, unaware of what was happening. However, it wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sebastian was slowly fulfilling his promises.

As long as she agreed to have a child with him, he would bring her back to the Lawrence family, announce their marriage, and save the Wallace family company...

She would obtain everything she wanted. . Even if she left him, the Wallace family would continue to thrive, and she would still live a good life.

He had paved the way for her future, every step of it.

Isabella chuckled lightly, uncertain if she should be happy or sad.

Having a child had resolved all their problems effortlessly.

Yet she couldn't help but wonder, did he truly love her? Was there even a trace of love?

Or had there been a moment when he had entertained such thoughts?

Mr. Wallace was jubilant. "Mom, our family has made a comeback, all thanks to Mr. Lawrence... Oh right, Isabella, whenever you're free, bring Mr. Lawrence home. Although you're married now, you should still visit home once in a while."

"I can't decide his schedule," Isabella replied. "When he's here, you can ask him yourself, Dad."

"Alright, alright."

Sharon snorted. "What's so great about that? You are just putting on airs."

Isabella looked up at her. "The clothes you're wearing seem to be the latest luxury brand collection. Oh... haven't seen you carrying a new bag either. Did you just buy them?"

"Yes," Sharon said, "but they were just small expenses."

"The Wallace family doesn't have that kind of money to squander right now. Your mom surely wouldn't be willing to give it to you for such frivolous purposes. So, let me guess... Did your newlywed husband buy them for you?"

Sharon gritted her teeth. "Yes, older sister, thanks for getting married and solving my marriage problem in passing. I have so much to thank you for!"

"No need to thank me. We're family, after all," Isabella smiled. "That man suits you well. He's wealthy, and you're young. One’s a turtle, the other is a green bean, what a perfect match. He's smitten and willing to spend money on you."

"Isabella, you..."

Judy quickly pulled Sharon away, signaling her not to engage in a direct conflict with Isabella.

Judy did that because of Mr. Wallace’s presence. But more importantly, by marrying Mr. Lawrence, Isabella has become Mrs. Lawrence. Nobody could afford to offend her!

Mr. Wallace rubbed his hands together. "Isabella, Sharon's marriage... What do you think? Is there any way you can have a word with Mr. Lawrence? She can't possibly spend her whole life with a man older than me."

"Isn't she content with it? Why bother, Dad?"

At the corner of the corridor, Sebastian held his phone, his head slightly lowered, while his other hand remained in his trouser pocket. "What's the matter?" he asked.

The voice on the other end was filled with sadness. "Did you really get married?"
"Yes."

"Why her and not me?"

"Because only by marrying her can I marry you," Sebastian said. "Please stop making a scene and listen to me."

"You always tell me to listen, listen to you... But what have I gained in the end? I've even lost you."

Sebastian glanced at the hospital room, his throat tightening. He remained silent for a while before calmly saying, "You haven't lost me."

"You hesitated," she said. "For a good five seconds. I don't know what was going through your mind during those five seconds. Was it me or... her?"

"You should take care of yourself."

Before he could finish his sentence, the woman had already hung up the phone.
