Chapter 80 I'll Call the Police If You Keep This Up!
"Alright," she said, "Whichever card you mention, I'll play that one."
Sebastian nodded and lightly brushed his chin against her shoulder, causing her to feel a slight tickle. She quickly composed herself.
But as the game progressed, Isabella started to feel that something was off.
Was Sebastian intentionally playing poorly?
Did he feel embarrassed by her winning streak and thus decided to cause some trouble?
While Isabella was grabbing a card, she happened to pick the exact one she wanted.
But...
Sebastian said, "Play."
Isabella turned her head to look at him and asked, "Are you really sure about playing this card?"
His expression was calm, devoid of any emotions, but he confidently replied, "Yes."
As soon as she played the card, her hand became all jumbled. Isabella was still staring at her cards when she suddenly heard Nick from across the table say, "I win."
Isabella was puzzled and looked back at Sebastian, only to find a faint smile playing on his lips. "Nick is quite lucky," he remarked.
The chips she had just won were swiftly lost, half of them now gone because of him.
But... Isabella understood.
On the surface, they were playing cards, but in reality, Sebastian was intentionally losing money to someone...
Anyways, Sebastian had plenty of money to spare. Losing a few million wouldn't even make his eyes twitch, and that money could still serve a purpose.
In this world of personal relationships, there was always something to learn.
If Isabella hadn't been following Sebastian for half a month now, she wouldn't have seen through this.
She suddenly lost interest in continuing the game. What was the point of a game where she was destined to lose?
Sebastian also had no intention of asking her to continue. He lightly patted her waist and said, "It seems like your luck has run out. Let me take over."
Isabella got up from him with a hint of weariness in her expression.
Sebastian glanced at her and calmly told her, "Go buy some cigarettes for me."
"Oh, okay," Isabella instinctively replied.
She had actually been thinking about going out for a breath of fresh air without a good excuse. Unexpectedly, Sebastian immediately ordered her to go, which worked out perfectly.
As she walked towards the door, she asked, "What brand do you usually smoke?"
She hadn't paid attention to the brand Sebastian smoked.
Sebastian probably wasn't too pleased as he only said, "Buy the most expensive one."
"Okay."
Leaving the chess and card room, Isabella felt a lot fresher in the air.
Sebastian probably didn't really want her to buy cigarettes for him. It was more likely a way to send her away so he could discuss something without her presence. Therefore, she could stay outside a little longer.
Once the matter was settled, the card game would also disperse.
Isabella planned to go to the convenience store across the street to buy a bottle of yogurt.
As she stood there waiting for the elevator, she absentmindedly intertwined her fingers.
Just as the elevator was about to arrive, laughter and the heavy smells of smoke and alcohol wafted in from the corner of the corridor.
"It smells awful."
Isabella frowned and looked up to see four or five men in their thirties or forties approaching and stopping next to her.
They seemed to be waiting for the elevator too.
Isabella moved to the side and thought to herself that she would wait for the next elevator.
"Hey there, pretty girl," one of them said, "Why are you hiding? Did we bother you or scare you? If you have any thoughts, you can speak up."
Isabella remained silent and didn't look in their direction.
"Hahaha," someone laughed at him, "Bob, she's ignoring you."
Bob also laughed, "Oh, she's a feisty one, interesting, I like that. Do you want to get to know each other? I won't treat you poorly."
Isabella still didn't say anything, and just then, the elevator doors opened.
The group walked in, but Isabella stayed standing.
"Hey, girl," Bob whistled at her, "Why don't you come in? The elevator is spacious, it can accommodate you."
Unable to hold back, Isabella finally glanced at Bob, and then...
She rolled her eyes at him.
"Oh, you have some nerve... you actually rolled your eyes at me!"
Seeing that the elevator doors were about to close, but Bob stopped the elevator and walked back out.
Isabella took two steps back.
"I approached you because I respect you. I'm interested in you, it's your good fortune," Bob said, "You're acting all aloof and innocent... rolling your eyes at me, who do you think you are? Do you think you're so great just because you have some looks?"
Isabella knew this person had been drinking, had some status, and with his friends around, her eye-roll had set him off, so they weren't done yet.
How annoying!
She coldly replied, "Mind your words, clean up your mouth. Just because you smoked and had a few sips of alcohol doesn't mean you don't know who you are."
"How dare you talk to me this way!”
"Why wouldn't I dare?" Isabella rolled her eyes at him again, "Who do you think you are?"
Isabella wasn't even afraid of Sebastian, who could make the whole New York tremble with just a stomp. When she was in a bad mood, she still provoked him, so why would she fear this greasy man who came out of nowhere?
Bob was immediately angered by her, "You don't know who I am? How dare you talk to me like this? Huh? Where did this arrogant woman come from?"
Isabella retorted, "You don't know who I am? You're just here to harass me like this?"
"Who are you? You're just a woman doing business here. How much for a night? You're so audacious!"
"Disgusting."
Bob grabbed her wrist and forcefully pulled her in front of him, "So spicy... alright, little girl, say one more word and see what I'll do to you!"
"Let go!" Isabella said, "If you keep this up, I'll call the police!"
"Hahaha, call the police, she-"
"Call the police," Bob turned around and smiled at his friends, "Did you hear that? Hey, oh well, I, Bob, have never been afraid of anyone!"
Isabella struggled hard, but it was in vain.
Bob held onto her, and she couldn't help feeling that her skin was tainted. She would have to wash it with soap thoroughly when she got home!
"Are you going to let go or not?" Isabella said, "In front of everyone, with surveillance cameras around, what are you planning to do?"
"What am I planning to do? You tell me what I'm planning to do! What's wrong with the surveillance cameras?" Bob stared at her, "The more you behave like this, the more I want to teach you a lesson!"
As he spoke, he quickly reached out his hand and grabbed for Isabella's shoulder.
Isabella dodged backward, but couldn't fully avoid it. Bob grabbed onto her clothes and forcefully tore them.
With a crash, her clothes were ripped apart.
Isabella was shocked. She hadn't expected that this Bob would actually bully her so shamelessly right at the elevator entrance!
