Chapter 480 Just an Answer, Is It That Hard?

However, she didn't have time to ask any questions; her mouth was covered, and the bodyguard Carl had called dragged her out.

Lynda was still in her pajamas, shivering in the cold wind, but no one cared.

In the back seat, she pounded on the doors and windows, but it was useless. The driver and the bodyguard up front ignored her.

Eventually, Lynda lost her strength and started crying into her hands. Compared to prison, going abroad seemed slightly better; she had no choice.

As they got closer to the airport, Lynda's hatred grew. She despised Sebastian and hated Isabella even more!

But what good was hatred? She couldn't escape, and she didn't dare to try.

Lynda's phone buzzed with messages.

[Do you know why Sebastian has always put up with you?]

[Your mom once saved Mrs. Lawrence.]

[With such a big favor, the Lawrence family will always protect you. As long as you don't leave, no one can kick you out.]

Lynda's eyes widened in shock. This message floored her! She thought, 'Who sent this? Is it true?'

A hint of madness flickered in Lynda's eyes, her last glimmer of hope.

In a Victorian house in Maple Valley, Samuel sent the message and toyed with his phone. He couldn't let Lynda leave; otherwise, he'd lose his leverage.

Willowbrook Estate.

Isabella's lips curled into a bitter smile. "Sebastian, there's no need to deal with Lynda anymore. Let me go."

Sebastian stayed silent, not saying a word.

Isabella bit her lip, clenched her fists, and pounded on Sebastian's chest. "How can you be so cruel, so selfish!"

Sebastian stood still, letting Isabella's fists hit him, his eyes deep and forgiving as he looked at her.

His gaze seemed to say: as long as you forgave me, you could hit me all you wanted.

Isabella was exhausted, her hands slightly red from the force she used.

With red eyes, she lowered her head, no longer struggling or hitting Sebastian. She let out a whimper, her slender shoulders shaking with her sobs.

"Sebastian, take a step back. If you take a step back, I'll take a step back. Let's separate."

Isabella said, "I'm begging you, give me a quiet place to stay for a few months. I need to be alone and calm down."

As she spoke, Isabella looked up, her once clear eyes now hollow, previously filled with joy, now entirely consumed by pain.

Sebastian swallowed, tasting the bitterness of heartache.

He had lost the woman who used to smile and play with him.

Sebastian wanted to grant Isabella's wish, but if he let go, would there still be a future for them?

Sebastian was clueless, his heart filled with confusion.

The silent hallway was broken by the ringing of a phone, shattering the deadlock between them.

The call saved Sebastian, giving him an excuse to delay answering Isabella.

"There's something at the company."

"Is it so hard to give an answer?"

They spoke at the same time, their voices intertwining, their gazes meeting once more.

Sebastian felt a sharp pain in his heart but insisted, "Wait for me to come back. Get some rest."

He left.

Isabella watched as Sebastian walked away, disappearing from her sight. Her eyes stung, and her mouth tasted bitter.

She thought, 'This relationship is just hurting both of us. Sebastian, why can't you just let go?'

Sebastian left Willowbrook Estate, his chest tight, struggling to breathe even with deep breaths.

He pinched the bridge of his nose and exhaled, answering the call.

"Mr. Lawrence, something's happened!" A panicked voice came through. "Miss Baker is missing!"

Sebastian cursed under his breath, hung up, and ordered a city-wide search for Lynda.

With Maple Valley's network, finding someone was a piece of cake for Sebastian. He quickly pinpointed Lynda's location.

A sanatorium!

He thought, 'Is Lynda planning to harm Janet?'

A chilling coldness surged up Sebastian's back, his heart in his throat.

He contacted the nurse as quickly as possible, but before he could speak, he heard the nurse's panicked screams. "Mr. Lawrence, Janet has fainted!"

Sebastian almost dropped his phone. He couldn't imagine the consequences if something happened to Janet. The consequences were not something he and Isabella could bear. Or rather, it wasn't something he could bear. If something happened to Janet, there would be no future for him and Isabella.

Sebastian tried to stay calm, contacting Janet's attending physician as quickly as possible, then swiftly called the police and ordered Lynda's arrest.

As he gave these instructions, Sebastian's car sped up, reducing the nearly forty-minute drive to twenty minutes. He was rushing to the destination, taking all risks to get there as quickly as possible.

When he arrived, Janet had already been taken to the operating room. The nurse sat on a bench outside, crying with her face in her hands.

Hearing Sebastian's voice, the nurse immediately stood up, choking as she explained, "Mr. Lawrence, I really don't know what happened. I went to the bathroom outside the ward to wash something, and when I came back, she was on the floor. Usually, she's in good health, always smiling. Even the doctor said she was recovering well."

"Stop crying; it's affecting the surgery." Sebastian stood tall, frowning anxiously at the operating room door.

His hands were tightly clenched, his palms sweaty.

He was stiff, his mind blank once again.

This was something he should tell Isabella, but Sebastian kept it to himself.

"Mr. Lawrence, we have apprehended the culprit," the police informed him over the phone. "Additionally, the video of the crime has been sent to your email."

Sebastian thanked them and hung up. Then, he opened the surveillance video in his email.

In the video, Lynda quietly entered Janet's room while Janet was looking out the window. She turned and said kindly, "Miss, you must have the wrong room."

Lynda smiled dangerously. "No, I'm in the right place. You're Isabella's grandmother, right?"

"You must be Isabella's friend," Janet said, looking at Lynda. Her smile became noticeably stiff, her face full of tension. "Where's Isabella? Why didn't she come with you? Did something happen to her?"

Lynda began to cry hypocritically. "Yes, something happened to Isabella. I had no choice but to find you."
