Chapter 474 I'm the one who had your child

Lynda was like an actress, loving the spotlight, but Isabella couldn't care less about joining in.

Isabella put on some music, pulled out her old study book, and tried flipping through a few pages to calm down.

It wasn't working. She kept turning pages, but her heart was racing with anxiety.

Lynda was right there in the same room!

Isabella couldn't keep her cool.

She thought, 'Is Lynda plotting against me again? Will she hurt the baby?'

All these thoughts made Isabella super cautious.

She was a bundle of nerves, feeling tense and totally insecure. It was like she was a fish frying in a pan, squirming around.

But no matter what she did, she couldn't escape the heat.

Isabella finally closed the book, grabbed her hair in frustration, and had an idea.

She called a lawyer to ask about getting a divorce and had them draft up the papers.

The whole morning was pure torture for Isabella. The only thing that gave her a bit of relief was finally getting the divorce agreement.

She just needed to print it out and hold it in her hands.

A loud knock on the door cut through the music and grabbed Isabella's attention.

She took off her headphones, stood up slowly, and went to open the door.

"What's up?" Isabella raised an eyebrow at the servant standing there.

The servant said, "Ma'am, Mr. Lawrence wants you to come out."

"For dinner?" Isabella asked, "I'm not going."

She was about to say she wouldn't bother them.

But then she thought, she had to go.

If she didn't, it would look like she cared, like she was jealous, like she was mad.

Even though she was, Isabella would never admit it to Sebastian.

It was like going to war. The drums had sounded, and this battle had to be fought. In war, there were always casualties.

Isabella changed her mind, "Got it."

With that, she headed to the dining room.

In the dining room, Sebastian sat at the head of the table, eating with his usual serious, calm demeanor.

To his left, Lynda's cheeks were flushed, like peach blossoms in April, all pink and tender.

She took a tiny bite of food, then glanced up at Sebastian, perfectly mixing her nervousness and affection.

If Isabella didn't know Lynda's tricks so well, she might've been fooled, let alone a guy.

Isabella fought back her nausea and the urge to flip the table, sat across from Lynda, and picked up a fork.

Just as she was about to eat, she felt two pairs of eyes on her.

Sebastian and Lynda were both staring at her.

Isabella got goosebumps, her body tensing up and rejecting their gaze.

"Sebastian, is this your wife?" Lynda's hand holding the fork shook, like she was heartbroken, her voice all choked up, "So, in the memories I lost, you were already married."

She looked at Sebastian, her eyes red, her gaze pitiful and shy, full of affection.

Isabella felt like throwing up. Probably the baby in her belly felt the same, a wave of nausea hitting her hard.

She took a sip of water to push down the nausea, put down her fork, and smiled, "You're his favorite, don't get it twisted. These days, being married or not doesn't matter. It's all about the feelings. I'm just the contract wife, you're the one he loves."

Lynda's eyes welled up, and as she blinked, tears started falling.

"No, don't say that. I won't be the other woman. I'm not his favorite. You've got it wrong. And you're pregnant. You can't be just a contract wife."

She held her head, covered her ears, and lowered her head, tears splashing onto the table, "What did I forget? Why can't I remember anything?"

Isabella gave her a mental thumbs up. One case of amnesia and all her bad deeds were wiped clean. Impressive.

"If you can't remember, I'll fill you in." Despite Sebastian's increasingly cold and piercing gaze, Isabella kept smiling, "I know everything."

When Lynda looked up, Isabella smiled and said, "You have a heart condition, and pregnancy is bad for your health. I'm having the baby for you. So, don't be too hostile. I'm like a servant here."

"Isabella, as a servant, you sure talk a lot, don't you?" Sebastian suddenly spoke, emphasizing "servant" with a heavy, ruthless tone.

Then, he glared at Isabella coldly, "And as a servant, who said you could sit at the table and eat?"

"Mr. Lawrence, you make a good point," Isabella nodded and stood up, "Should I be serving you?"

"Shouldn't you?" Sebastian retorted, "Why else would I call you out?"

The dining room was packed with food for lunch, covering the entire table. The table was fixed and couldn't rotate, so someone had to serve the food.

Isabella smiled, "Sure, I'll serve you both right away."

She signaled to Carl, raising her chin to indicate she should hand over the serving utensils.

Carl looked troubled, glancing between Isabella and Sebastian, holding the utensils tightly, unwilling and afraid to let go.

"Give them to her!" Sebastian ordered angrily.

Isabella calmly extended her hand, "Hand them over."

Carl felt like the cream filling in an Oreo, caught in a major argument.

Carl lowered her head and handed the utensils to Isabella.

"Sebastian, this isn't right," Lynda said, "This lady is pregnant, after all. She should sit down and eat."

She spoke like she owned the place.

Sebastian stared directly at Isabella, a mocking smile on his face, "She's not the only woman who can get pregnant."

Isabella's hand paused, and her smile froze.

Sebastian's words were like a fierce winter wind, cutting into her heart.

Her heart felt cold, so cold that even the blood flowing through her veins seemed to freeze.

Isabella really wanted to ask Sebastian, 'If I'm so worthless, so ordinary, why did you go to such lengths to choose me, to ruin my once peaceful life?'
