Chapter 289 Can I Borrow Your Tie
At this moment, in the cemetery in the capital city, just as Isabella had expected, Sebastian was indeed visiting his mother's grave.
This had been his unchanging tradition over the years. However, he had been extremely busy recently, so Sebastian arrived late today.
He had promised Isabella earlier that he would return to Willowbrook Estate today, so he didn't stay for too long.
Placing a bouquet of bright lilies, Sebastian bowed deeply.
"Mom, I have found the person who makes my heart move," Sebastian said. "Next time, I will bring her to visit you."
As he said these words, a faint smile curved up at the corners of his mouth, and his eyes softened.
The summer breeze was cool, with the sound of cicadas chirping incessantly, which sounded quite pleasant. Sebastian stood there for a while before turning to leave.
On his way back to Willowbrook Estate, Sebastian received a text message. It was from Lynda.
Lynda: [Sebastian, happy birthday. Although it's not your birthday, I have already sent you a gift, remember to check it. - Love, Lynda.]
Sebastian pressed his nose, thinking that he could no longer delay it. Recently, Lynda's health had been relatively good, so he had to find time to slowly explain this relationship.
After a long while, Sebastian replied with an unenthusiastic response.
Sebastian: [thank you]
The car stopped steadily outside Willowbrook Estate, and Sebastian looked up at the lights inside the house, feeling filled with emotions.
He opened the car door and the doorman handed him a small gift box, saying, "Mr. Lawrence, this was sent by Miss Tang."
Sebastian took it and said, "Hmm, got it."
He didn't think much of it, as the box was small, so he held it in his hand and brought it inside.
"Mr. Lawrence, you're finally back!" the butler exclaimed excitedly, taking his suit jacket from him.
Sebastian casually placed the gift box on the coffee table and looked around the living room, asking, "Where is she?"
The butler mysteriously said, "Madam is in the kitchen."
"The kitchen?" Sebastian asked.
The butler urged, "Yes, if you go in and see for yourself, you'll know."
The butler piqued Sebastian's interest, and he walked towards the kitchen.
Isabella was a person who always finished what she started. Even if Sebastian didn't come back, she would still finish her tasks.
After a brief moment of disappointment, she put the cake and pasta in the side room and went to clean up the kitchen.
Finally finished, Isabella stretched lazily. She had spent the whole day in the kitchen and her muscles were sore. She urgently wanted to take a good bath.
Little did she know, as soon as she opened the kitchen door, a shadow loomed before her.
Then, she collided with the person who was about to enter the kitchen.
Isabella fell back, but a pair of hands quickly caught her waist, giving her stable support.
"You're back?" Isabella asked. After regaining her balance, Isabella stared at Sebastian in surprise, her eyes filled with joy.
Sebastian looked at Isabella's face covered in flour and his lips twitched. "What are you busy with?" he asked.
His hand followed Isabella's jawline, lifting her chin, and slowly, his thumb wiped away the flour from her face.
"Oh my god!" Isabella finally realized and embarrassed herself again!
Isabella quickly pushed away his hand, and wiped her face a couple of times, feeling a bit embarrassed.
She cleared her throat and said, "It's nothing, it's nothing."
"Have you eaten?"
"Eaten?"
Both of them simultaneously asked each other in unison.
They looked at each other for a moment and then shook their heads.
Isabella's life had been dull and sad lately, she couldn't find anything that could make her laugh.
With Sebastian's understanding, it suddenly hit her strange sense of humor, and she burst into laughter.
She laughed genuinely and brightly, with a twinkle in her clear eyes, like precious pearls that would shine.
Sebastian was enchanted by her simple laughter, and only then did he realize where Isabella had been strange these days.
Her laughter used to be so ethereal, not genuine at all.
Unlike now, so bright.
Sebastian grabbed Isabella's shoulder and leaned down to kiss her.
Only then did Isabella realize her anomaly, pursing her lips and placing her hand on his shoulder, gazing at him with watery eyes.
Sebastian's eyes had already changed, and he reached back to hold her wrist, pulling her towards him, bending down, and capturing Isabella's lips accurately.
No more delaying, the pasta would be mushy!
Isabella pushed him away forcefully, before he could get angry, and said, "I really have something important, really."
"What?" Sebastian's lips glistened, "What is it, tell me."
Isabella reached out her hand, and asked, "Can I borrow your tie?"
Sebastian smirked, leaning against the door, lazily looking at Isabella.
That look... he clearly misunderstood, with a hint of ambiguity.
His slender hand pressed against his Adam's apple and slowly slid down, finally landing on his tie.
A tug and a pull.
His fingers were long and with each movement, his knuckles protruded.
Isabella's mouth went dry from his gaze and his actions made her tongue-tied.
Everyone has a sense of vanity, and she was not a person of simplicity, handsome guys are equally tempting!
She simply couldn't bear to continue looking.
"Here," Sebastian said as he handed her the tie.
Isabella took it immediately.
"Um..." Isabella decided to speak her mind, "Can you bend down?"
A smile played at the corners of Sebastian's mouth, he looked at Isabella meaningfully, as if to say, do whatever you want.
Isabella was speechless and a little shy.
But, considering that today was his birthday, she would go along with it.
She lightly bit her lip, stood on tiptoes, and held the tie in front of Sebastian's eyes.
"I'll lead you," Isabella grabbed Sebastian's wrist, "Don't take it off."
Sebastian straightened up and nodded, "Okay."
Not wanting to be stared at by Sebastian's piercing black eyes, Isabella looked at Sebastian several times.
Today, let's just consider it a dream.
Isabella's lips tightened, slowly relaxing, with a slight smile at the corners.
With that, Isabella led Sebastian to the adjacent bedroom.
Her hand trembled slightly as she grabbed the doorknob to open the door.
It was Sebastian's birthday and Isabella did not know if her impulsive decision would make him angry.
It was only now, at this point, that Isabella realized what she had done and felt foolish.
Oh well, let's just do it!
Finally, the door was pushed open. Isabella stood behind Sebastian, pushing his waist to guide him inside.
She took a deep breath as her toes touched the floor.
She wiped the sweat from her palm on her clothes and then proceeded to untie Sebastian's tie.
"Happy birthday," Isabella's voice was hoarse as she cautiously wished him.
When Sebastian suddenly moved away to shield himself from the intense beam of light, he reached out with his hand, but upon hearing Isabella's voice, he put his hand down.
Everything in front of him flooded into his sight.
