Chapter 218 You, Have No Right to Challenge My Bottom Line

Sebastian could see through her facade, but instead of getting angry, he just chuckled and playfully tapped her nose.
Isabella couldn’t help but think that the world owed Sebastian an Academy Award for Best Actor. Despite his feigned emotions, there was a hint of genuine affection in his eyes.
Sebastian moved quickly, and in no time, the butler brought over a variety of cameras.
Amber whispered to Isabella, "Sebastian had a phase where he liked photography. He never wanted to part with these beauties. Isabella, he must really like you."
Isabella pursed her lips, her heart skipped a beat, and she quickly pinched her palm while forcing a laugh.
She couldn't bear to tell Amber that it was all a ruse, and that the truth would come out in nine months.
"Let's take a family photo first, then individual ones." Amber, a veteran of the entertainment industry, found posing for photos far too easy.
Under her direction, several family portraits were taken in short order.
She ran off cheerfully to check the shots and nodded approvingly.
Then she waved at Isabella, "Come closer to Sebastian. It would be best if you gave him a peck on the cheek for a lovely couple's photo."
Isabella wasn't too keen. There was no point; Sebastian wouldn't keep the picture.
But upon seeing Mr. Lawrence Sr.'s contented look and Amber's excited smile, she couldn't bring herself to refuse.
If this was all an act, she might as well go all out. At least someone watching the show was happy.
She tugged on Sebastian's sleeve.
Sebastian raised an eyebrow at her.
Isabella winked at him, cleared her throat, turned slightly, and raised herself up on her tiptoes.
Originally, she intended only to touch his cheek, but to her surprise, Sebastian turned towards her as well.
Their lips met.
"Click."
Amber captured the moment.
Isabella's face flushed a deep red; she faced away and swallowed hard.
"Look at this, showing off your love in front of an old man like me," Mr. Lawrence Sr. said, truly happy, looking years younger with his laughter.
Amber rushed over and hugged Isabella's arm, "It's too much, Isabella. You and Sebastian are outrageous. Everyone else in the family is single and look at you two!"
Isabella felt confused, and her heart was pounding wildly.
That intense gaze belonging to Sebastian was fixed on her, making her heartbeat even more erratic.
She swatted at Amber's arm, feigning annoyance, "Didn't you say we should take a few pictures with Grandpa? Let's go."
Isabella dragged Amber toward Mr. Lawrence Sr.
Sebastian leaned against the sofa as his gaze inadvertently drew itself towards Isabella.
She and Amber played around with Mr. Lawrence Sr. They were free from restraint and looked genuinely engaged and lively.
He seemed... unable to take his eyes off her.
Seeing Isabella's smiling face made Sebastian smile as well.
With a child involved, their entanglement would never end.
As her relationship with Amber and Grandpa deepened, she would find it harder to leave.
Sebastian's eyes grew dark and inscrutable, like he was pondering something.
After taking a few pictures with the two girls, Mr. Lawrence Sr. let them go.
He glared at Sebastian as usual, let out a couple of disapproving snorts, and took his place in the main seat, lowering his voice to instruct him, "Take good care of Isabella. She's a good girl."
"I know."
"You better do it," Mr. Lawrence Sr. kicked him lightly, "And clean up things with Lynda sooner rather than later."
"Some things can't be cleaned up," said Sebastian cryptically.
"Nonsense, how can they not be cleaned up? I swear you're going to be the death of me!"
"I'll handle it. Besides, I'm not your only grandson. I have my own child now, so there's no need for you to worry. Just relax and focus your attention on others."
Sebastian's phone rang, and he got up, "I need to take care of something."
He took a sip of coffee, his gaze lingering on his eldest grandson who was talking with his son, as his thoughts whirled.
"Jarod," Mr. Lawrence Sr. called out.
Anticipating what Mr. Lawrence Sr. wanted to say, Jarod slowly stood up and leaned on his cane.
"Grandpa, I’m going to check on the kitchen. My sister-in-law is pregnant, and we need to be particularly careful with her diet. Some ingredients aren't suitable for expecting mothers."
"The butler can handle that, sit down."
"Grandpa, I can only do these small things now, so don’t worry about me."
Mr. Lawrence Sr., after listening, glanced sideways at his serious son and chided, "Look at your two good sons."
Byron looked innocently perplexed.
After hearing the report from the branch manager, Sebastian put away his phone, turned around, and saw Jarod coming out of the kitchen.
He knew Jarod was deep in thought. What was he planning to do by going to the kitchen at this time?
Pondering for two seconds, Sebastian waited until Jarod had entered the bathroom before he followed into the kitchen.
After inspecting all the ingredients and finding nothing out of the ordinary, his brow remained furrowed.
Upon exiting the kitchen, Sebastian encountered Jarod again.
He passed by Jarod coldly, continuing forward without even the pretense of cordiality.
"In broad daylight, there’s not much I can do," came Jarod's voice from behind.
Without turning his head, Sebastian replied, "Even if you want to do something, you have to have the ability. Let me advise you, as you are now, you better not cross any lines."
Jarod remained gentle, "Sebastian, what exactly are these lines? The child? Lynda? Or my sister-in-law?"
"You can't touch any of them."
Isabella and Amber were happily taking photos when they saw Sebastian and Jarod seemingly talking about something.
By the time she looked directly at them, the two men had already parted ways.
At the dinner table, Isabella paid extra attention.
Although Sebastian and Jarod were still at odds, it wasn’t anything new to her; she was accustomed to the Lawrence brothers' way of interaction.
The rest of the Lawrence family didn’t pay much mind to their conflict either.
The family dinner was harmonious and full of joy.
"Isabella, don’t leave tonight. The housekeeper here is very experienced in dietary matters. In the morning, she'll prepare a special nutritional meal for you," Mr. Lawrence Sr. said with a beaming smile, "We can’t neglect my granddaughter-in-law and great-grandchild."
Isabella chewed slowly with a sweet smile, "Okay..."
"No," Sebastian interrupted her, saying to Mr. Lawrence Sr., "She's particular about where she sleeps."
Was she that delicate?
He probably disagreed because the Lawrence family treated her too well, and Sebastian was probably setting up a poor image of her because he was worried about Lynda's situation in the future.
She had seen right through his actions.
He wanted her to be obedient and court Mr. Lawrence Sr.'s favor while also preventing the old man from getting too fond of her. She really had a difficult road ahead of her!
Unexpectedly, after leaving the Lawrence residence, Sebastian still held her waist.
His deep voice reached her ears from above, "I won't let any danger come near you."
Huh? Why did he suddenly say such an inexplicable sentence?
Was the Lawrence family not safe? Was Jarod planning to harm her?
