Chapter 443 See Some Fun
She was totally wrecked inside, but she couldn't find the words to explain or comfort Sebastian.
Earlier, when she dodged him, that was her truest reaction.
She thought, 'How could this be?'
Isabella bit her lip. Sebastian had a legit reason for letting Lynda go, and he even got stabbed for his lies.
Now, he was all gentle and sweet every day, treating her like a queen, making her feel all warm and fuzzy. Just now, he even made her blush.
She even thought they could get back to how things used to be. So why did she suddenly feel so grossed out?
Isabella felt a bit anxious and frustrated.
She thought, 'It shouldn't be like this. I forgave him; I shouldn't be so grossed out. Can we really not go back to the past?'
"Here," Sebastian reached out again, pinching Isabella's chin, his deep eyes locked on her lips, "Let go, don't bite your lips."
Isabella slowly moved her teeth away.
The next second, a cool pair of lips pressed against hers, kissing away the tiny specks of blood on her lips.
Then Sebastian let go of her chin and stood up straight. "Do you feel grossed out?"
Isabella shook her head and honestly said, "No."
The tingling sensation was actually kinda nice.
"Do you feel grossed out when others kiss you?" Sebastian pressed on.
Isabella's eyebrows immediately furrowed, with a hint of anger, silently questioning him about what nonsense he was spouting.
Sebastian smiled and patted her head, "So, I'm unique, irreplaceable. You love me. Since there's love, we can go back to the past.
"It's just a matter of time. Little by little, the grossed-out feeling will disappear one day. I can wait. Besides, your repulsion isn't as strong as it used to be. The reason it's so bad now is that you remembered those scary scenes.
"After today, you won't feel this way. Enjoy the next scene. Trust me, Isabella, you'll feel very comfortable."
He almost read Isabella's mind, each sentence strongly comforting her.
His last words were suggestive but not fully explained.
Facing Isabella's confused eyes, Sebastian continued, "I'm not in a hurry. As long as you're by my side, I can wait for the day you completely forgive me. Since I can wait, and the outcome is good, that's enough to withstand all the pain during the process."
Besides, this was his self-inflicted punishment.
At his words, Isabella heard the sound of ice melting in her ears.
The ice that froze her heart and blocked her rapid heartbeat started to melt.
Isabella guessed that after this engagement, seeing Lynda's painful expression, the ice would completely melt, and this matter would be over.
She would become the Isabella who was loved by Sebastian and could act spoiled at will.
Suppressing the urge to hug Sebastian, Isabella nodded seriously and promised, "Okay, the outcome will be good."
Sebastian's eyes shone brightly, emitting a scorching light from his pupils.
These lights carried affection, satisfaction, mixed with guilt, but mostly love.
They intertwined into a large web, firmly binding Isabella within.
"The engagement is starting." Isabella quickly looked away, then forward.
Sebastian smiled contentedly.
No matter what, the one she loved was him, and she was always and everywhere infatuated with him.
If he could just be a little better, and then a little better still, he would surely win back the purest, the most trusting, and the most loving version of her.
Sebastian put away his smile and looked forward with Isabella.
At that moment, Lynda, rocking a pure white long dress with a trailing hem, walked to the second-floor staircase.
Someone was holding her dress from behind.
Lynda felt super satisfied.
Looking down from the second floor, the guests from Maple Valley attending the wedding seemed tiny, like they were crawling at her feet, totally feeding her vanity.
This made Lynda think, 'If Samuel could give her so much, then what about Sebastian? What an honor it would be to truly become Mrs. Lawrence!'
Thinking of Sebastian, Lynda unconsciously searched for him.
Seeing Sebastian standing in the corner with Isabella, Lynda was almost furious.
She thought, 'That bitch Isabella, still hasn't left even after knowing the truth! The spot next to Sebastian is clearly mine! Sooner or later, I will take it back.'
While plotting her next move, Lynda still kept a perfect smile, stepping elegantly down the stairs in her high heels.
It wasn't until she reached the bottom that Lynda remembered to look for Samuel.
Lynda scanned around, but she didn't see him anywhere.
A sense of frustration rose in her heart.
She thought, 'Where did Samuel go? Shouldn't he be waiting at the bottom of the stairs, holding my hand, and leading me to the center of the crowd?'
A trace of unease grew in Lynda's heart, and recalling Samuel's odd behavior yesterday, her unease deepened, her face slowly turning pale.
"Come on, everyone, let's give a warm welcome to today's star, Miss Baker!" Edward shouted right on cue.
Instantly, countless eyes focused on Lynda.
Lynda's unease vanished instantly, replaced by envy and jealousy.
She thought, 'Such a formal, grand wedding, meticulously prepared by Samuel for many days, won't have any mistakes.
'After all these years, from college to now, Samuel has been around me, finally getting the chance to be engaged to me. He wouldn't allow any mistakes.'
Lynda's smile was super confident as she walked slowly towards Edward.
Walking down the long red carpet, Lynda shyly stood in place.
"Now, let's welcome today's male lead!"
Edward shouted loudly, and Lynda was filled with joy.
She didn't notice that Edward only mentioned the male lead without specifying who it was, unlike when he introduced the female lead and added her name.
If she had paid attention, she might have noticed that throughout this luxurious engagement, Samuel's name was never mentioned.
Applause and cheers surged towards Lynda like waves.
Lynda had never experienced such a grand scene. Her heart pounded, and her cheeks flushed.
However, after the intense applause, Lynda still didn't see Samuel.
"Where's the male lead?" Edward shouted into the microphone, his puzzled voice echoing through the large hall.
The hotel was so big that it felt a bit empty, and the sound echoed back.
