Chapter 359 Can You Have Some Morality?
"Of course, I mean it!" Isabella's cheeks were on fire, practically glowing. "What else could I mean?"
Sebastian just smirked, staying silent, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
"See, you can't even explain yourself," Isabella said, calming down a bit as she focused on her meal.
After a few bites, a deep voice broke the silence. "Isabella."
"What?" She looked up.
"Foot." Sebastian's eyes were locked on hers.
"Huh?" Isabella blinked, confused.
"Move your foot," Sebastian repeated, more firmly this time.
Isabella blinked again, still not getting it.
Isabella shifted her foot, suddenly aware of the warmth of Sebastian's leg under the table. When did she put her leg on his thigh?
Her face turned beet red, feeling like it could fry an egg.
Quickly pulling her leg back, she realized Sebastian had been tapping the table earlier. Was she following his rhythm without knowing it?
Oh no!!
His charm was just too much!
What was she doing? She wasn't some lovesick teenager!
And he was her husband. Did she really need to lose control like this?
If they were in bed, it was fine, but this was a public place!
What was she thinking?
Isabella wished she could vanish on the spot.
"I didn't mean to," she mumbled, looking down, giving Sebastian a sheepish smile. "My leg just moved on its own."
Sebastian's intense gaze made her ears and neck burn, her heart racing.
Before he could say anything, Isabella decided to face it head-on. "Why are you staring at me like that? It's your fault for provoking me."
"And besides, you're my husband. Is it too much if I touch you a bit?"
"Sebastian, don't make a fuss!"
Her voice softened, feeling utterly embarrassed.
She mumbled, "I like you so much that my body just didn't listen to my brain, that's all... um..."
Before she could finish, Sebastian grabbed her chin and kissed her hard.
Their teeth clashed, but neither cared.
Her face burning, Isabella felt the heat of his lips, oddly comforting.
"Alright," Sebastian said, his voice husky. "Have it your way."
His voice seemed to wrap around her, capturing her heart.
She met his gaze briefly before looking down again.
Unable to take it anymore, she worried that if she kept looking into his eyes, she'd lose control.
"Shall we continue?" Sebastian's gaze fell on her red ears.
Blushing, Isabella kicked him lightly. "Eat!"
Sebastian chuckled softly.
Throughout the meal, Isabella felt like a teenage girl in love, her heart racing.
As the car stopped at the Willowbrook Estate gate, she was still lost in her infatuation.
Getting out of the car, Isabella blushed and kicked a small stone on the ground. She took a few steps before Sebastian grabbed her wrist.
"What's up?" Isabella turned to him.
"I won't be going inside," Sebastian said, pinching her cheek. "Things are crazy at the company, and I might not be around much for a while."
"Also, Joshua's car accident was pretty bad. He needs to go abroad for treatment in the next week or two, and he doesn't have anyone else. I have to be there for him."
"So, I'll be busy for almost a month."
Isabella was surprised that Sebastian was sharing his schedule with her. It felt... different.
She remembered when she was little, before her mom Laura passed away. Her dad Rex would always tell Laura his plans before going to work or on a trip.
Those memories were fuzzy, but she remembered the warmth. Laura must have felt the same way she did now.
Rex hadn't even left yet, but she already missed him and worried about him.
Straightening Sebastian's tie, she hugged him gently. "It's okay if you're busy. I'll take care of myself. Don't worry about me, and don't feel guilty."
The hug was tender. Standing behind him, she patted his back, soothing him, telling him not to worry.
Then she looked up at him, her gaze intense. "Don't wear yourself out. I'll be worried."
She smiled and sighed. "With so much on your plate, how can you not be tired?"
Her eyes stung. "You even have dark circles under your eyes."
"But I feel so useless. I can't help you much, and I might even make you worry." Isabella felt powerless, her head hanging low.
Sebastian looked at her, the dejected figure in front of him, yet she shone like a rising sun, illuminating him.
His heart softened, filled with love. While he might seem aloof to others, with Isabella, his true self emerged.
He chuckled and pinched her cheek again. "Nonsense. Do you think I'm that fragile?"
Isabella stayed silent.
After a while, she bit her lip and looked up at him. "Sebastian, I've been drifting without any dreams. But now, I feel like I have a goal."
"I want to make myself stronger, step by step. I want to stand by your side, not just to pass the time, but to fight alongside you."
"I'll do my best. You may be tired for a while, but I can share your burden."
As she spoke, she grew calmer. She realized this wasn't just a passionate speech; it was a promise.
It wasn't a momentary whim but a lifelong commitment.
Just like loving Sebastian, a commitment for a lifetime.
Her smile widened, a playful glint in her eyes. "I plan to study financial management. I'll enroll in a course soon. Being pregnant at home is so boring. You can teach me practical stuff, and I'll make sure I know the theory."
"Wait for me a little longer," Isabella said. "Don't stop moving forward. I'll catch up to you. When the time comes, you can rely on me."
