Chapter 475 They Are Not Worth Her Anger
'Did he know he totally wrecked me? How could he be such a jerk?'
"Miss Baker, want something to eat?" Isabella looked up, a smile playing on her lips.
"No, really, don't worry about it." Lynda's eyes flashed with a mix of joy and pride, even though she tried to hide it.
Isabella caught it, though, and her hands balled into fists.
Lynda was definitely faking it!
Isabella stood by the table, fuming, for over twenty minutes.
Sebastian kept bossing her around the whole time!
She never realized he could eat so much!
Lynda, on the other hand, was super quiet.
But just dealing with Sebastian was more than enough for Isabella!
By the end of lunch, Isabella was exhausted, starving, and filled with anger and pain. It felt like her whole body and mind were being tortured.
What finally ended her misery was a phone call for Sebastian.
He grabbed his coat from a servant and slung it over his shoulder.
Before leaving, he shot a glance at Isabella.
Isabella kept her face blank, "Mr. Lawrence, take care. Safe trip. Good luck with work."
Sebastian's look was icy, but then he suddenly smiled.
Like he was saying, "let's see how long you can last."
Isabella blinked, her eyes curving.
She hoped he got the message: for a long time, until you divorce me!
Sebastian's chest heaved, his lips tightening into a thin line.
Then he turned and left.
"Sebastian, where are you going? Can you tell me about the part of my memory I've lost?" Lynda put down her fork and ran after him.
Once they were gone, Isabella finally relaxed.
She sat down and started eating, picking dishes neither Sebastian nor Lynda had touched.
"Ma'am, are you really gonna let that Miss Baker stay here so easily?" Carl leaned in and whispered, "Who knows if she's really dumb or just pretending? She's a potential danger to you and the baby."
Isabella almost laughed. Even Carl saw the danger, but Sebastian didn't.
Of course, given her current relationship with Sebastian, he didn't need to care about her safety.
As for the baby, Sebastian had said there were plenty of women who could give him kids.
If he wanted, he could have as many as he wanted.
"This isn't up to me," Isabella said slowly, "Stop talking, it's ruining my appetite."
Carl pursed his lips and went quiet.
Outside Willowbrook Estate.
Lynda had been trying hard to catch up with Sebastian but failed.
A female bodyguard stopped her.
"Miss Baker, Mr. Lawrence wants you to stay put. About your lost memory, he believes you'll definitely remember."
The bodyguard mimicked Sebastian's tone, stressing "definitely," making it sound ambiguous.
Lynda clenched her hands, her heart racing, her face pale.
She thought, 'Could Sebastian know I'm faking it?'
Lynda had lied to get Sebastian to Pine Ridge Gardens, hoping to see him and ask him to stop tormenting her.
She never expected to end up moving into Willowbrook Estate. Now that she was here, Lynda had no plans of leaving.
Playing the innocent card, she nodded and said, "Okay, I get it. I won't bother Sebastian. I'll try to remember."
With that, Lynda walked back to the hall.
After a few steps, she noticed the bodyguard trailing her.
Great.
Lynda didn't need to say a word; she knew the bodyguard would stick to her like glue no matter what.
She had no freedom and couldn't even lay a finger on Isabella.
Sebastian and Isabella were clearly at odds. He was using her to rile up Isabella, yet somehow still protecting Isabella!
Lynda entered the hall and saw Isabella sitting at the table, eating gracefully and methodically. Her anger flared up instantly, burning fiercely.
She sat across from Isabella, smiling innocently and a bit embarrassed, "Can you pass me that dish? I want to eat it, but I'm shy in front of Sebastian."
Lynda was deliberately trying to provoke Isabella.
Isabella saw right through her.
She wouldn't take the bait. Sebastian wasn't worth her anger, and Lynda even less so.
Treating them like strangers was the best move.
Isabella calmly pushed the dish Lynda mentioned towards her.
She put down her fork and extended her hand, "Enjoy."
With that, Isabella stood up, stretched, and headed back to her room.
Lynda watched Isabella go to the first floor instead of the second-floor bedroom, her eyes widening in surprise and delight.
She thought, 'Sebastian and Isabella must have completely broken up! I can seize this chance to take over! In this vast and luxurious Willowbrook Estate, I will be the mistress!'
Lynda's heart pounded in her ears, filling her with energy, as if she had been reborn, given a second chance at life.
At the Lawrence Group's underground garage.
Sebastian leaned back in his seat, smoking.
One cigarette after another, the small car was filled with smoke.
He felt a strong sense of fatigue, too lazy to move, unable to muster any energy.
Every time he fought with Isabella, it seemed like he was punishing her, but actually no.
Sebastian felt like he was opposing himself.
Isabella was so calm, seemingly indifferent.
Sebastian was fed up with Isabella's indifference. He couldn't wait to break her calm, to make her admit her mistakes and beg for mercy!
He wanted her to know that she belonged to him, body and soul, under his control. He wanted her to taste the pain, so she would never dare to make a mistake again!
Sebastian took a deep drag on his cigarette, the smoke obscuring his face.
Despite this, it couldn't hide his cold and determined expression.
Sebastian's heart was always soft, capable of feeling pain, how could it not be soft?
But he forced himself to be tough.
This time, he wouldn't go easy on Isabella! He thought, 'How dared she be with Samuel! It is trampling on my dignity as a man!'
Sebastian stubbed out his cigarette, rolled down the window to let out the smoke and smell, then stepped out of the car and headed upstairs.
As the elevator doors opened, Kaine was already waiting.
Sebastian glanced at him, his face stern, and walked forward in silence.
"Mr. Lawrence, there's news about Samuel." Kaine said, "It seems he came to Maple Valley to find someone."
