Chapter 58 The Whole Company Views Her as They View Me
She nodded, "Okay. I have to settle the books with her after all these years."
He responded with a grunt, pulled out a cigarette, glanced at her, and lit it.
Clearly, Sebastian was in a very bad mood.
"Jarod... what did he do? Did he challenge you privately?" she asked.
"He is the general manager of Lawrence Group, but he doesn't have any real power. He's just a figurehead. Dad gave him the position to sit in," Sebastian flicked the cigarette ash, "But now... he can't sit still."
Isabella felt that Jarod was a mysterious person whose mind was difficult to read.
He was always calm, devoid of emotions, unlike Sebastian who expressed his indifference and decisiveness on his face.
She sat beside Sebastian, "I thought he was physically disabled and had no more desires."
The more such a person appears, the more they want to gain. Besides, his mother is instigating him from behind."
Isabella sighed, "You live such a tiring life."
Sebastian's hand, holding the cigarette, paused slightly.
"The company, the Lawrence family, employees, friends, and even emotions and children... you want to gain control over everything," Isabella said, "Isn't that exhausting?"
He reached out and lifted her chin, "Being trampled upon is what's exhausting."
The two were standing very close, she could smell the strong scent of smoke, she held it back, but still couldn't help coughing.
Sebastian stood up, walked to the desk, and pressed the speed dial button, "Bring the person in, now."
"Yes, Mr. Lawrence."
"Your so-called sister will also want a share of the Wallace family company," Sebastian said, "I won't help you deal with her, and you'll have to handle it yourself."
Isabella looked at his tall figure from behind, "Who?"
"The person who left you stranded in the wilderness."
Her body trembled slightly, and the emotions of fear and despair crawled up his heart once again.
The person who entered... was around forty years old. He had a pale complexion and dark skin. His hands were tied behind his back, unable to move. From the appearance of his eyes, he didn't seem like a decent person at all.
As soon as he entered and saw Sebastian, he immediately knelt with a thud, "Mr. Lawrence, Mr. Lawrence, I've confessed everything, I've said everything I should, I haven't told a single lie... please have mercy on me, I'm willing to go to jail... anything."
It was clear that being in Sebastian's hands was even more chilling than going to prison.
Sebastian spoke indifferently, "It seems like you've knelt in the wrong place."
Upon hearing his words, the man seemed to understand and immediately stood up. Without hesitation, he knelt down directly in front of a pile of debris. He did not even flinched or blinked his eyes.
Isabella was so frightened that she closed her eyes, as if she could even hear the sound of the shattered fragments entering his flesh.
"Mr. Lawrence, please spare me... Your time is precious and not worth wasting on scum like me. I surrender myself, I admit my guilt, I admit everything, I'll sit in prison for however long you desire, no objections!"
Sebastian maintained his indifferent tone, "You've asked the wrong person."
Isabella abruptly stood up, "I... I don't want to see him!"
Just the thought of that person following her into the stairwell, covering her with a black bag, made her feel suffocated and icy all over.
Sebastian walked over, holding her hand and feeling its chill. He squeezed it gently and asked, "Tell me, how should we deal with him?"
"Let's hand him over to the police."
The man immediately kowtowed, "Mrs. Lawrence, yes, I've made a mistake, I admit my guilt, I'm willing to pay the price!"
Sebastian had only tried his methods once and would never consider trying them again. Besides, he didn't go overboard with him. He simply taught him a lesson which would also serve as a warning... to the people behind him.
