Chapter 326 Why Not Use an Umbrella in Such Heavy Rain
She stabbed herself, and instantly, the blade cut through her skin, causing blood to rush out.
The butler received the news and hurriedly rushed over.
Upon seeing this scene, he was shocked and exclaimed, "Madam! What are you doing? If you want to go out, I can let you out. Why would you harm yourself?"
Isabella remained composed and said, "Have the driver bring the car around to the garage and take me to the company."
The butler's face turned pale, and he nodded repeatedly, "Yes, I will do as you say! But please, put down the knife first."
"Follow my instructions and make the arrangements immediately," Isabella said calmly. "I only want to go out, not to harm myself."
The butler, fearing that Isabella might get hurt, dared not disobey and quickly sent someone to make the arrangements.
The two bodyguards wanted to say something, but the butler sternly silenced them, "That's enough! Be quiet! Make way for the madam! Are you all fools? Can you bear the consequences if anything happens to her?"
The butler couldn't help but think that these two were too foolish.
If she really did something foolish in her impulsiveness, would Mr. Lawrence turn a blind eye?
At that time, they would all face punishment. By releasing Isabella now, they could easily evade any questions from Mr. Lawrence. If something happened to his wife, they would all be in deep trouble.
The two bodyguards then withdrew their hands.
At that moment, a car slowly approached the gate.
"Madam, the car is here. Please come out," the butler bent down and coaxed, "The knife is dangerous. Please give it to me."
Isabella pretended not to hear and softly said, "Move aside," as she walked towards the car in front. The butler hurriedly walked in front of her, opened the car door, and shielded it with his hand. Isabella got into the car, closed the door, and then put away the knife and sheath.
"Let's go," Isabella said to the driver in front.
The car slowly left Willowbrook Estate, and in the rearview mirror, the estate grew smaller and smaller, finally putting Isabella at ease.
The butler stared at the departing car and immediately called Sebastian.
Isabella sat in the car, maintaining a stiff posture. Outside, it started to drizzle, and the fine raindrops blurred Isabella's vision. Finally, the majestic Lawrence Group building stood before her.
"Madam, we have arrived," the driver said, looking back.
Isabella gazed absentmindedly. She had always wanted to come and see Sebastian, but now, a hint of timidity crept into her heart.
She couldn't help but wonder if she had misunderstood Sebastian and he truly liked her. If so, what should she do next?
He said that the pain he had caused her was her fault, and it was a form of punishment, but it was still sharp and hurtful, and she cared about it.
Moreover, even if Sebastian was dominant, would he forgive her if she apologized? Would he stop punishing her?
Isabella clasped her hands together, pondering back and forth. However, she couldn't come up with a definite answer.
Outside, a thunder followed a flash of lightning, and the rain suddenly intensified. Pedestrians hurriedly sought shelter from the wind and rain.
The thunder startled Isabella, snapping her out of her wandering thoughts.
"Alright, thank you," Isabella said to the driver, expressing her gratitude before getting out of the car.
She crossed her hands above her head to shield herself from the rain, lowered her head, and tiptoed towards the company's lobby.
However, after taking only a few steps, a voice came from behind, "Ms Wallace, why aren't you using an umbrella in this heavy rain?"
Lynda's voice was warm and gentle, giving the impression that people with such a tone were pure and kind. But Isabella knew it was all an illusion. Lynda was a malicious person, a femme fatale.
Isabella glanced in the direction of the voice and saw Lynda getting out of the car, holding an umbrella, and walking towards her.
She felt unlucky when she encountered Lynda right away. Isabella felt disgusted at the sight of her and was about to continue walking when she heard someone greet Lynda.
"Lynda, you're here again today?"
Lynda smiled and glanced at Isabella, deliberately saying, "Yes, Mr. Lawrence asked me to come."
Isabella was stunned, feeling as if her feet were weighed down and she couldn't lift them.
During those days when Sebastian locked her up, Lynda came every day?
So, did Sebastian really love her? If he truly liked her, why did he call Lynda to come every day? Was it also a form of punishment for her?
Or was it that Sebastian had no feelings for her at all, as he claimed at the banquet, and it was purely to torment her and make Lynda happy?
Isabella couldn't take a step forward because she was more inclined to... believe that Sebastian didn't love her.
If that was the case, had she... fallen for it again?
"Isabella, run! Run away from her!" It was as if someone was shouting in her ear.
Rain fell on Isabella's head, wetting her hair and washing over her face. The rain was chilly, but Isabella was oblivious. She turned around, no longer heading towards the company but in the opposite direction.
"Ms Wallace, are you looking for Sebastian?" Lynda smiled, walking beside Isabella and holding an umbrella over her. "Let's go together."
Isabella caught a whiff of Lynda's scent, and in her mind, she pictured Lynda and Sebastian lying in a hotel room bed. Like a reflex, Isabella felt nauseated, unable to contain her anger.
"Do you have no shame?" Isabella coldly questioned, "Have you no shame at all?"
"Ms Wallace, let's talk, shall we?" Lynda grabbed Isabella's wrist, looking pitiful and innocent.
What was she planning to do now?
Isabella saw cunning and scheming in Lynda's eyes. She clenched her hand tightly, suppressing her anger, refraining from slapping Lynda in public.
"I have nothing to talk with you. Isn't it just about threatening me to give up the title of Mrs. Lawrence?" Isabella pushed Lynda away, narrowed her eyes, and stared her down. "Then you should find him, not me! I can't wait to get a divorce!"
"If Lynda, you can get Sebastian to sign the divorce papers, I will be truly appreciated."
The driver from Willowbrook Estate had already left, leaving Isabella standing by the roadside trying to hail a cab.
Unfortunately, in this weather, every passing taxi was full, and none stopped for her.
Lynda had succeeded in her plan to disgust Isabella and prevent her from entering the company to see Sebastian. Satisfied, she didn't want to linger with Isabella any longer. Holding the umbrella, not a drop of rain touching her, she appeared clean, pure, and aloof.
And Isabella... Looking at Isabella's disheveled appearance, Lynda felt a sense of satisfaction.
Just as she was about to deliver a final jab at Isabella, she caught a glimpse in the corner of her eye of Sebastian standing behind her, also drenched by the rain.
Sebastian stood there, letting the raindrops trickle down his sharp features, wetting his clothes.
His expression was unreadable, concealing his emotions.
