Chapter 368 I Saved Someone, But Also Harmed Someone
Sebastian was the only one who knew he wasn't as calm as he appeared to be. His palms were sweaty, and his heart pounded in his ears, struggling to keep up.
Every word, every sound from Sebastian trembled. But he always hid it; he never let those emotions show. Isabella, the only person who understood him and wanted to ease his burden, was in the operating room.
Showing vulnerability and panic would be a joke to everyone else.
This thought flickered through Sebastian's mind, distracting him for a moment. He had actually lumped Lynda in with everyone else.
Without realizing it, Isabella had taken the only place in his heart. Even Lynda couldn't compare.
It wasn't just physical between him and Isabella; it was spiritual, too. No one could replace her.
Only in front of Isabella did he take off his mask. Sebastian couldn't lose her.
His heart pounded violently, sending hot blood that seemed to carry his panic to his limbs.
Lynda hadn't left; she was still lost in thought, trying to process Sebastian's words. Her mind was a mess, but suddenly, she got it.
If Sebastian didn't believe she loved him deeply, it meant he didn't think Lynda had saved Isabella out of love for him. That's why he was investigating.
Lynda had thought Sebastian was moved by her words and chose to investigate instead of jumping to conclusions.
Now, she realized that investigating or jumping to conclusions were essentially the same! Both meant Sebastian suspected her of doing all this to Isabella.
Sebastian, who always trusted his judgment, wasn't Samuel or any other guy Lynda could easily fool.
Lynda looked up at Sebastian, watching his every emotional shift.
She could see that Isabella had truly enchanted him; Isabella's place in his heart was unique.
If Isabella had told him Lynda had pushed her on purpose, Sebastian would have believed Isabella in no time.
Lynda had planned to create discord with this incident, but she hadn't predicted that Sebastian wouldn't believe her.
In an instant, Lynda's face turned as white as a sheet.
What should she do now?
Everything had been ruined.
Lynda's mind was in chaos. She had calculated everything but missed a crucial detail, the most important link.
"Yes, by any means necessary, within half an hour, I need someone with RH-negative blood type." Sebastian's voice was heavy as he made a call.
RH-negative?
In a moment of panic, Lynda suddenly realized, her eyes lighting up. It was a godsend! She knew someone with it around her!
Lynda grabbed Sebastian's arm, applying slight pressure with her slender hand, pretending ignorance. "Sebastian, what babies? Is Miss Wallace pregnant?"
Sebastian had just hung up one call and was about to make another when he heard Lynda's words. He asked calmly, "You didn't know?"
"You never told me." Lynda bit her lip, tears welling up in her eyes. "I didn't know, really. The situation was critical at the time, and I didn't think much before I pushed Miss Wallace away."
"I was trying to save her," Lynda said, her hands trembling. "I saved her life but ended up harming her babies."
Sebastian was racing against time; he had no patience for Lynda's explanations.
He needed evidence, but that could wait. Isabella's life couldn't.
Sebastian turned away, making calls to other hospitals to find RH-negative blood.
"Sebastian, I love you. Whether you believe it or not, I didn't harm anyone this time. I'll do anything for you," Lynda said firmly. "As long as you're happy, I don't care. I promise you, Ms Wallace will be fine." She wiped her tears and hurried off.
Sebastian's brow furrowed even tighter.
Just then, Kaine rushed over. Sebastian signaled him to follow Lynda.
As Sebastian hung up, his phone rang again. For a moment, his heart almost stopped.
"Speak!" he snapped.
"Mr. Lawrence, we found someone with a matching blood type." Finally, good news.
"Who is it?" Sebastian asked.
"Samuel, Mr. Carter." The other end answered.
Sebastian's racing heart calmed slightly. "Have you contacted him?"
"We couldn't reach Mr. Carter." The answer made Sebastian feel a wave of frustration. Sweat beaded on his forehead.
He had already decided that he would find someone with the same blood type to save Isabella, no matter the cost.
"Sebastian!" Amber's voice called out, getting closer. She wore sunglasses and a mask, fully covered, and ran up to him.
Amber grabbed his arm, bent over, took a quick breath, and asked, "How is Isabella? Grandpa called and said she had an accident. What's going on?"
Sebastian didn't respond, moving her hand away. He told the person on the phone, "Send me his address." He hung up.
"You stay here; I'll be back soon." Sebastian loosened his tie, turned around, and left Amber standing there.
Amber stood blankly in front of the operating room.
She pursed her lips, clenched her hands, and began pacing anxiously in the corridor. With each pass, she glanced nervously at the door.
Sebastian descended the stairs, taking three or four steps at a time. Once in his car, he already knew Samuel's location.
It took him five or six minutes to get there, and he spotted Kaine reversing his car, raising an eyebrow slightly.
Upstairs in the restaurant, in a private room, Samuel sat across from Lynda.
"You texted me saying you ran into Mrs. Lawrence in an accident, saved her, but caused her to bleed heavily?" Samuel said, blinking his deep blue eyes, pulling out a tissue to wipe Lynda's tears.
At the same time, the image of the youthful and beautiful figure from the Silvercrest Golf Course flashed through his mind.
Thinking of Isabella's accident, Samuel felt a bit down. Samuel didn't like this feeling, so he clenched his fist after retracting his hand.
"I didn't mean to," Lynda held Samuel's hand tightly, crying. "It was a critical situation, and I wanted to save her. I didn't know I would harm her."
Samuel nodded. "I believe you, don't cry."
