Chapter 277 The Things You've Hidden from Isabella

She wrapped her arms around Sebastian's neck and nodded. "Really, I have no reason to lie to you. Look, I'm perfectly fine."

He stared at her for a long time before giving up and carrying her away.

In the distance, Marcus struggled to stand up with painful eyes.

His eyes were full of hatred; it was the first time he hated someone so much.

Isabella originally belonged to him— her tenderness was his.

That child should've been his!

He leaned against the wall and shouted, "Sebastian, don't you remember what you hid from Isabella? You sneaky man! I'll find evidence and expose your true face!"

His voice was loud, and even though Sebastian and Isabella had walked far away, they could still hear it clearly.

Isabella was stunned, wondering what Marcus was talking about. What was Sebastian hiding from her?

She secretly observed Sebastian's face, but he remained calm with no changes whatsoever.

Despite that, she knew he must be hiding something from her. When she asked him before, he only replied that sometimes ignorance is bliss.

She didn't bother asking anymore. There was no need to, since he wouldn't tell her. He had kept too many secrets, and this one wouldn't make much difference.

To be honest, she was disgusted with her current life. It was exhausting, always living in fear and sharing a man with that horrible woman.

It was absolutely sickening!

They soon got in the car, and Isabella sat next to Sebastian in the back seat.

It had only been two or three hours since they sat side-by-side like this, but Isabella's mood had completely changed.

Her heart had turned cold, and there was no way to warm it up.

She no longer dared to expect anything like love.

"Why didn't you contact me when something happened?"

Isabella was dozing off, but hearing Sebastian's words, she shook her head slightly and almost laughed out loud.

"I did call you, but you never answered," she tilted her head to look at him. "That's not my fault, is it?"

To say this so lightly, only heaven knew how much effort it took her.

She looked innocent as she knowingly asked. "Also, why were you at the hospital today? Are you sick?"

Sebastian stared into her eyes, then turned his face away and looked out the window. He replied coldly, "Hmm, just a slight cold."

Isabella bit her bottom lip, tasting the bitterness and sourness in her mouth. Her sharp nails dug deep into her palm.

She wanted to ask him if he knew about the lipstick mark. Did he intentionally turn his face to show her its complete form?

Who did he think he was, deceiving her like this? Was it just so he could bring Lynda to the hospital, staying by her side and never leaving?

"Are you feeling better now?" she heard herself ask.

After that, she shuddered. Why did it sound so disgusting?

After waiting silently for a few seconds, Isabella wanted to see what lies he'd come up with. However, he suddenly turned around and placed his hand on her neck.

His hand was cold, leaving Isabella with chills. She skeptically asked, "What's wrong with you?"

Sebastian didn't know what happened, but upon hearing her gentle voice just now, a scene of her entangled with Marcus instantly flashed before his eyes.

In his ears, he could hear what Lynda had said about Isabella not loving him.

Once he associated her not loving him and caring for Marcus as she did for him, he was infuriated.

His eyes were bloodshot, slight fierceness appearing between his eyebrows.

He approached her, his black eyes like an angry web. His hand was strong and ready to strangle her.

However, he couldn't bring himself to do it.

He was truly going crazy, tormented by Isabella's lack of love for him, and by his own love for her!

Despite that, her affectionate eyes seemed like a pair of hands that soothed him.

Sebastian's slowly inched upward, gently caressing her delicate cheeks as he whispered, "If you dare act soft and show care to other men, I'll kill you, Isabella."

Isabella bit her lip, trying hard not to tremble. Sebastian's current appearance scared her, and she could see murderous intent in his eyes.

She had no doubt he'd really kill her.

His possessiveness was terrifying, even turning jealous over acting; it was both funny and frightening.

Why did he go to such lengths?

She had no choice but to continue acting with him.

However, she couldn't continue letting him bully her like this, could she?

Thus, she raised her hand and fiercely punched Sebastian's chest.

It was purely an expression of her frustration.

Before he could react, she grabbed his tie and used her most disgusting, coquettish voice to say, "Why are you being jealous for no reason? If it weren't for you, why would I have run out? If I hadn't run out, why would I have stomach pain and go to the hospital? It's all your fault!"

His large hand enveloped her small one. He was stunned, gazing deeply into her eyes while asking, "Because of me?"

Isabella nodded, "Yes, because of you. You said you liked me, so I came out to confirm that."

A flash of surprise and disbelief quickly passed through Sebastian's eyes.

Later, he directly picked her up and placed her on his thigh, holding her chin tightly. "What do you think?"

She shook her head, "I don't know. I feel like I should believe you, but I'm also afraid it's only fake. From last night until now, my heart has been fluctuating."

As she said this, she stared at the lipstick mark like she couldn't accept it.

She kept reminding herself to keep acting and not to be fooled again. Doing dumb things once or twice was enough.

Sebastian observed her, seemingly trying to find something else in her eyes.

On the other hand, she wasn't scared of his gaze, pursing her lips a she looked at him.

This was everything Isabella genuinely wanted to ask.

Her sadness and pain were also real.

The play intertwined with reality, but it wasn't entirely true.

She was in pain, but at the same time, she was acting.

These two didn't clash together.
"Agh— What are you doing!" Her face suddenly stung, her eyes instantly widening in surprise before glaring at Sebastian.

She rubbed her face that had been pinched, "Sebastian, why did you do that?"

What a strange man!

The ferocity in his eyes disappeared instantly, and he looked like he was in a good mood. "Does it hurt?"

"Of course!" she repeatedly urged herself to endure, but her words still came out a bit harshly.

"That's good," he said, "Pain helps you remember better."

She couldn't understand what he meant. She thought to herself, 'Forget it.'

After all, Sebastian was clearly avoiding this issue.
