Chapter 16 Sebastian, Let's Make a Bet
"You're going to find her? What do you want to do?"
"Getting nervous?" Nicole teased.
Joshua's entire demeanor suddenly turned cold. "Nicole, are you looking for trouble?"
"Worried, huh? Of course...Brittany is the one you care about the most. You love her intensely, treasure her like nothing else. How can you bear for me to go and provoke her?"
He grasped Nicole's wrist tightly. "I'm warning you, don't go and provoke her!"
"But you were the one who provoked me first."
"Do you hear me?" He repeated loudly, "Answer me!"
Nicole was startled by his reaction. "Since you love her so much, then go and win her back! Go and cry, kneel, repent, apologize. Use every means possible to make her forgive you. Why are you here bothering me when you're heart is engaged to her?"
"I'm telling you, Nicole, if there's a next time, I will not spare you."
Joshua forcefully shook her off and was about to leave with a grim expression. Nicole grabbed onto his clothes. "Where are you going?"
"To a meeting."
"What about trying on wedding dresses? You promised to accompany me." she said.
"No time." Joshua pried open her fingers. "Go by yourself, wear whatever you want."
He still loved Brittany, loved her to the core, loved her so much that even in his dreams he called out her name...

At six o'clock in the evening, Isabella took off her headphones and breathed a sigh of relief. She had finally finished dubbing this episode and successfully sent it off.

Isabella closed her computer and walked out to the balcony, stretching her muscles and relaxing.
A car slowly entered through the gate of Willow-brook Estate and parked by the garden. Sebastian got out of the driver's seat, slammed the car door with one hand, and held his phone in the other, making a call.
The sunlight spilled onto him, casting a golden glow.
Ending the call, Sebastian looked up and caught sight of the little woman on the balcony, who had always been on his mind.
"Missed me? Hmm?" he asked, "Isabella, are you my longing stone?"
She snapped out of her daze and instantly blushed.
Goodness... She had actually stared at Sebastian and lost herself in admiration.
"I-I-I-I, y-y-y-you... You're back," Isabella stammered, "Quite early, huh?"
Getting off work at five-thirty, considering the time stuck in traffic, it would still be past six o'clock when he arrived home...
Sebastian lifted his hand and glanced at the time. "Because I wanted to come back to see you," he said.
Her face grew even redder.
What kind of sweet talk was this...
"Get ready," he said, "At seven, we have to go to the Lawrence family's estate. The old man has given a strict order."
Isabella quickly rushed back to her room.
Sebastian's lips curled into a smile of helplessness, which quickly disappeared.
The Lawrence family mansion.
"Today is the daughter-in-law's first visit to our house," Old Master Bo said, "Jerome, don't always have a stiff face when the young lady is here. Be more polite to her."
Bo's father, Jerome, nodded. "Dad, I will pay attention. I don't have many requirements for who Sebastian marries. But regarding the Wallace family... I have done some research..."

"Grandfather, Dad," the wheelchair stopped, Bo Sisu spoke up, "Josh is here too. It's really lively at home today to welcome the new sister-in-law."

Isabella had always thought that someone like Sebastian, with a perfect family and successful career, wouldn't have such scars on his heart.
"I don't have a mother either," Isabella said. "Luckily, I still have my grandmother and my father. Look, you have a brother, a sister, a grandfather, and a father. You're much better off than me."
Sebastian's Adam's apple bobbed, and he turned his head to say stiffly, "What's so good about that?"
"At least you have a sister. She's so pretty and cute. Someone like you should have a brother like Amber to tease you."
"But it's not my place to discipline her. Grandfather protects her like she's his precious gem."
Isabella laughed, "So you mean, even with Amber, you can't do anything haha!"
"Are you happy?"
"I can team up with her to play pranks on you in the future."
"Stay away from her," Sebastian furrowed his brows. "She doesn't know her limits."
The car pulled up to Lawrence family mansion and came to a stop in front of the gate.
"Young Master Sebastian, Second Lady," the butler hurriedly greeted them. "Please come inside."
As Isabella walked into the living room, all eyes fell on her, drawing much attention.
"New sister!" Amber joyfully exclaimed. "We meet again!"
