Chapter 206 She's Only After Your Money
"But you returned to New York without my consent, even without telling me," Sebastian accused.
"It's because I felt threatened!" Lynda collapsed onto the bed, her tears falling like rain. "Ever since you said you were married, I realized that things were changing."
"I told you why I got married," Sebastian responded.
"But did you ask for my consent? You even let her get pregnant... You didn't tell me about this in advance!"
"I just didn't tell you every little detail, but I did all of this because..."
"No, no!" Lynda cried out, interrupting him. "Sebastian, you treat Isabella differently! You have feelings for her!"
Surprise crossed Sebastian's handsome face. This was the second person to say that he had feelings for Isabella. The first was Joshua, and now Lynda, two of the most important and intimate people in his life.
Lynda's sobbing echoed in the bedroom. "I know what kind of person you are. But your feelings for Isabella have surpassed that of a puppet wife. So, I got scared, and I panicked; I don't want to lose you! I can't lose you..."
"So, this is your reason for scheming against Isabella?"
"I admit that I schemed, but I deny that I framed her!" Lynda suddenly looked up at him. "I arranged all of this, but can I arrange her ambiguous relationship with Marcus?"
Sebastian's face changed slightly.
"I did all of this just to let you know... Sebastian, you have feelings for Isabella, but what about her? She's only after your money! The person she likes, the person she loves, is Marcus..."
"Enough!" Sebastian suddenly interrupted her sharply. "Don't say anymore!"
"Sebastian, can't you face reality? Can you say that there's nothing between Isabella and Marcus? Can you deceive yourself like this? Can you believe it?"
Lynda was pouring salt on Sebastian's wounds. And these wounds... were given to him by Isabella.
Yes, Sebastian could see through the whole plan, he could not be deceived, he could remain rational and clear-headed, he could only scheme against others, others could hardly deceive him...
But how could he deceive himself that Isabella had no feelings for Marcus?
At that time, Sebastian stood on Ivy Lane. Marcus was already injured, leaning weakly against the wall, covered in blood.
And Isabella was also covered in blood.
She was kneeling in front of Marcus, crying, panicked, and covered in Marcus's blood, but she didn't care; her eyes were only on him.
He also saw her moving her knees to reach for her bag and phone to call for an ambulance. Her panicked and frightened expression were burned in to his memory...
At that moment, Isabella's eyes and heart only had Marcus.
Sebastian saw it all.
Even when Isabella looked up and saw him standing there.
But she only glanced at him, just once, leaving him with a tear-streaked face, before turning her attention back to Marcus.
How could Sebastian not be jealous? How could he not be upset? How could he not believe it? How could he not be angry? How could he not go mad?
He was so mad that... he really wanted to go to the hospital and get Marcus out of New York, to never appear in front of him again!
With Sebastian's ability, he could totally do it.
But what then? Would Isabella obediently stay by his side?
No... she would only hate him.
And he... was afraid of her hatred.
Lynda cried out, "You can’t even answer me, Sebastian! I know you already have the answer in your heart. So, tell me, tell me, what did I do wrong? All I did was to let you know the truth, to stop you from investing your emotions in Isabella, to look at me more, to hold me more..."
With that, she stood up, threw herself into his arms, and held him tightly.
Sebastian's hands hung at his sides, never lifting.
Lynda didn't care, "Only I love you, Sebastian. From beginning to end, my love for you will never change. Can't you pay a bit more attention to me, invest a bit more in me?"
Sebastian remained silent and then raised his hand as if to push her away.
Seeing this, Lynda immediately held him tighter, "If you're angry, I can apologize; I can also apologize to Isabella. I'll accept whatever punishment she wants to give me; I admit it! I was wrong! I admit!"
She admitted defeat!
This time, she thought she had planned carefully, but she didn't expect that Sebastian's mind was not something she could contend with.
In the future... she would have to be more careful! She couldn't act rashly!
Ideally, she should catch Isabella red-handed!
Fortunately, Lynda was careful enough not to frame Isabella deliberately but just took advantage of the fact that Marcus was Isabella's ex-fiancé.
She should still be able to get Sebastian to forgive her.
Sebastian raised his hand and placed it on Lynda's hand.
But then, he forcefully removed her hand and looked deeply into her eyes, "You're not well; you shouldn't get too emotional. You should rest."
"Sebastian!"
Sebastian didn't say anything else; he just turned around and left.
Lynda watched his retreating figure and shouted, "Sebastian!"
His steps didn't pause at all, in fact, they quickened.
Lynda wanted to chase after him, but Sebastian had already slammed the door shut, not giving her any chance.
He was angry with her now, extremely disappointed in her...
Lynda gritted her teeth, chasing after him now wouldn't solve anything.
She never thought that her actions would backfire!
If Sebastian became indifferent to her, if he lost his feelings for her, if she lost this only support, what would she do?!
…
At the old house of Mr. Lawrence Sr.’s family.
Early in the morning, Peter came over.
Just in time, Mr. Lawrence Sr. was at home, seeing him, he said cheerfully, “You’re here to see Jarod again?”
“Yes, sir.”
Mr. Lawrence Sr. waved his hand, “You were the closest to Jarod before, so you understand his temperament. When you have the time, persuade him to move on from Joyce Raine."
Peter nodded, "I will, sir."
After Mr. Lawrence Sr. finished speaking, he patted Peter on the shoulder, took his birdcage, and went out.
Peter politely smiled, watched Mr. Lawrence Sr. walk away, then headed upstairs.
Just as he reached the second floor and turned around, he saw Amber coming out of her room, her hair messy from sleep.
And...
She was wearing a strappy nightgown, exposing her fair and smooth skin, her slender arms, and her curvaceous figure, even her ankles were enticing.
Such natural and lazy beauty was simply captivating.
