Chapter 466 If I die, she will also become the Lawrence family widow.

Man, it wasn't that easy.

They kept drinking and thinking, and before long, empty cans were scattered all over the place.

Sebastian leaned back in his chair, twisted his wrist, and spilled his beer.

"You love Isabella more than I thought," Joshua said. "But she's probably the same way and wouldn't do anything to betray you."

Sebastian stayed quiet for a while, and Joshua sighed, "Maybe, as an outsider, I see things more clearly. Or maybe you're just too wrapped up in Isabella, making you impulsive and jealous, which leads to misunderstandings."

Sebastian drank with his eyes closed, not even bothering to open them.

After a bit, he let out a mocking laugh, "Kaine, that assistant, can be fired. And you, if you're really better, come back to work. If you have enough time to poke around in my business, you must be too free."

"You're too stubborn, too domineering. I've never seen anyone more domineering than you," Joshua commented. "I've always wondered if Isabella being loved by you is a blessing or a curse. Now, it's even harder to say."

Sebastian opened his eyes, "Any misfortune she has is her own doing."

"But," Sebastian found it strange, "didn't you two have a conflict? Why are you speaking up for her today? Did the closed treatment mess up your brain?"

Sebastian had made fun of his closed treatment twice. Someone as smart as Joshua couldn't miss the oddity.

He thought, 'Could it be that Sebastian knows there was no such thing as closed treatment?'

Joshua coughed, his eyes darting around, "I'm just being selfless. Okay? The reason I'm speaking up for Isabella is for your sake. If there's always a misunderstanding between you two, with Isabella's personality, she will definitely run away."

Sebastian opened another bottle of beer, the white mist rising from the bottle mouth, making him seem even more unapproachable, "She doesn't have the ability or the guts. If I don't let go, where can she run?"

Joshua's face showed pain, "I used to think the same way. I would never let go of Brittany. But sometimes, fate is so cruel that it forces you to let go."

"No," Sebastian stared straight at Joshua, "I will never let go. Even if I die, she will be the widow of the Lawrence family."

Joshua was deeply shaken by Sebastian's belief.

Every time Sebastian said it, Joshua was shocked anew.

After a while, he said, "You're too overbearing. Have you ever thought about it?"

He thought, 'Maybe you'll live a long life, and Isabella will be driven to death by you?'

The latter part sounded like a curse, so Joshua quickly shut his mouth and shook his head, "Forget it, drink."

"No," Sebastian stood up, "there's a project I need to follow up on."

He spoke normally, but after taking a few steps, he staggered.

Drinking too much too quickly, combined with a head injury and previous anger, made Sebastian's vision go black.

Joshua jumped off the table and quickly went to support him, "How can you work like this? I'll take you back to Willowbrook Estate."

"No need."

"Don't be stubborn," Joshua said angrily, supporting Sebastian as they walked out, "If you keep this up, you'll really make Isabella a widow."

"Kaine," Joshua called out, "get in here."

Sebastian's head felt like it was being pounded by a hammer. He raised his hand to press on it, but the pain didn't go away. Now wasn't the time to be stubborn, so he didn't argue anymore.

At Willowbrook Estate, Isabella had lunch under the watchful eyes of a bunch of bodyguards. Instead of going upstairs afterward, she stayed in the living room. At first, the constant surveillance was annoying, but she eventually learned to ignore them, keeping her eyes glued to the front door.

Finally, a delivery truck pulled up. Local deliveries were pretty quick. Isabella got up and hurried outside.

"Ma'am," one of the bodyguards immediately followed her.

"Just picking up a package. If you're worried, follow me," Isabella said coldly, not even slowing down.

At the door, the delivery guy handed her the package. He was already stunned by the mansion, and the row of bodyguards behind Isabella made him even more nervous. After she signed for the package, he quickly left.

Isabella wasted no time, rushing upstairs to her bedroom. She sat on the bed, hurriedly installing the SIM card and starting up the phone. Once everything was set, she got busy. Logging into Facebook required verification from her old phone number.

She couldn't remember Samuel's number. She had a phone now, but how could she contact Samuel? It was still a big problem. Isabella frowned and decided to call her old number.

Nervously waiting, she felt her palms get sweaty. Just when she thought the call would hang up, Samuel's cheerful voice came through, "Looks like turning on the phone myself was the right move."

Hearing his voice, Isabella suddenly stood up, letting out a long breath, her worries melting away. She humbly apologized, "Samuel, are you okay? I'm really sorry about this morning. I was a bit impulsive and got you involved. I'm really sorry."

"It's just a kick. Besides a bruise, I'm fine," Samuel laughed. "We're friends. No need to be so formal."

Isabella felt genuinely guilty, staring at her toes, embarrassed.

"Samuel, do you have surveillance footage?" she asked. "I want to clear your name as soon as possible. Dragging it out affects you too much."

"No need. Reputation doesn't matter," Samuel said, sitting on the sofa at Victorian House with a sinister yet charming smile. "You need to provoke Mr. Lawrence. Just do it. No rush to clarify."

Isabella couldn't be so shameless, "Samuel..."

On the other end, Samuel interrupted her, "I said you don't need to be so polite to me. We're friends."

Isabella couldn't refuse him, "Samuel, it's not necessary. The matter between him and me shouldn't involve you. If you have the footage, just send it to me."

"You know I'm adopted by the Carter family and worried I can't withstand Mr. Lawrence's pressure, right?" Samuel laughed, "Don't worry. The Lawrence family can't choose the heir of the Carter family. Before the heir is officially determined, the Carter family is still under my control. I can stand up to Mr. Lawrence for a while for you."
