Chapter 54 Once we have a child, I will let you go
Sebastian leaned in and kissed her gently, "The Wallace Group’s company will be yours in the future, and yours exclusively. Even if we separate, Isabella, you will be able to manage it well and live a good life."
He kissed her from her forehead to her chin, his touch as soft as feather brushes.
He was making a promise, and he would follow through with his words.
However, Isabella's attention was fixated on the words "even if we separate."
Suddenly, her heart ached. For the rest of her life, she and Sebastian would go their separate ways, without any future connection. His true affection and tenderness would be given to someone else...
"Alright," Isabella hastily nodded and stood up, avoiding his gaze out of fear that he might see the sorrow in her eyes. "I understand."
Her attitude and tone made Sebastian sense something, but he couldn't put his finger on it.
He wanted to ensure that Isabella would live a much better life if she left him.
But his life without her …… it must be painful.
Sebastian didn't want to think further. He took out a cigarette, ready to light it, but upon seeing her silhouette in front of the coffee machine, he put it back down.
"Lunch with Anthony?" he asked.
"Yes, I promised her."
"You can refuse."
"Why would I refuse?" Isabella didn't turn her head. "I want to have lunch with her too."
Sebastian's tone suddenly turned sour, "And you won't have lunch with me?"
Isabella paused for a moment, "Why don't you come with us then?"
"I won't."
"Well, it's your choice."
Sebastian remained silent.
The aroma of coffee filled the entire office. Sebastian watched her bustling around the coffee machine, completely distracted from work. He only wanted to keep looking at her.
Isabella placed a cup of coffee in front of him, "Here you go."
Sebastian took it and before drinking, he said, "Starting from tomorrow, we will have lunch together every day."
It wasn't a negotiation, just an announcement.
Isabella jokingly remarked, "So, you even get jealous of your sister?"
"She's full of mischief, always up to something. Stay away from her."
"Even if I had thoughts of mischief, I wouldn't have the guts to act on them. Otherwise, you'd probably break my legs," Isabella pouted. "You're one to talk about awareness."
Sebastian's lips curled slightly, "Good to know."
Throughout the whole morning, Sebastian did nothing but drink coffee, answered a few phone calls, and made Isabella give him a shoulder and back massage.
Isabella was reluctant, but he used his position as the boss to pressure her.
She had no choice but to surrender to his demands.
Finally, when it was lunchtime, Isabella hurriedly left and called Anthony, "Where are you? I've made a reservation at the restaurant. Let's go together."
"I'm in Mr. Sinclair's office, Isabella. Please wait for me in my car; I'll be down in a moment. The license plate number is 818."
"Alright."
In the underground parking lot, Isabella easily spotted Anthony's sports car. Coincidentally, the trunk of a nearby car was open, and a girl was struggling to retrieve something from inside.
She walked over and offered, "Let me help you."
"Oh... thank you," the girl replied.
Isabella helped her take out a suitcase from the trunk; it was quite heavy.
Their eyes met, and Isabella said, "It's you?"
Wasn't she the elegant girl Joshua had been glancing at earlier this morning?
"Do you... know me?" Brittany smiled and added, "You don't seem to be an employee of the Lawrence Group, as you aren't wearing a company badge."
