Chapter 48 How Can I Bear to Deceive You
Sebastian put away his phone and stood quietly until he heard footsteps behind him, causing him to slightly turn his head.
Isabella didn't ask him anything, she just said, "Let's go."
"Okay," he nodded, "Let's bid farewell to grandma."
"Grandma has gone to sleep and there's a check-up in the afternoon, no need to disturb her."
Only then did Sebastian turn around and glance at her. "Alright."
Isabella asked, "What's wrong? It seems like something is bothering you."
"Nothing."
Sebastian started walking ahead, and Isabella stood still for a moment, bowing her head and looking at her own hand.
Just now...she wanted to hold his hand.
But it seemed Sebastian either didn't notice or deliberately ignored it.
However, he would use to hold her hand willingly.
Isabella's hand slowly dropped down as she watched his tall figure, and she followed along.
Sitting in the car, she asked, "You're going to the company, right?"
"Yeah."
"Thank you for what you did for Wallace Group."
"It's just a transaction." Sebastian's hand rested on the steering wheel, his tone indifferent.
"As I said before, as long as you willingly give birth to another child, I'll give you whatever you want."
Isabella fastened her seatbelt and lowered her head. "I really don't know if I've gained or lost."
"I can make you gain more."
"What do you mean?" Isabella asked, puzzled. "Are you going to give me a large divorce settlement too?"
"Instead of giving someone a fish, it's better to teach them how to fish."
She didn't quite understand.
Sebastian turned his head to look at her. "What major did you study in college?"
"I studied broadcasting."
"It's not related to finance at all..." Sebastian frowned. " You have no foundation in finance."
"I didn't plan on managing the family company back then, and besides...if I had studied finance, my stepmother probably would've been furious." Isabella replied. "So, I simply chose a major that I liked."
But just after she graduated, the Wallace family went bankrupt before she even had a chance to find a job.
Nowadays...she just does voice acting with Emily, takes on small gigs to earn some extra money.
Sebastian raised an eyebrow. "However, I couldn't tell that you studied broadcasting. Your diction and intonation aren't quite right."
"What's the use of you being able to tell?"
"Perhaps when you're calling out in bed...it creates a different feeling?"
Isabella nearly choked on her saliva.
One second ago, Sebastian could say such provocative words, but the next second, he could immediately go back to the main topic. "Your father's management skills are inadequate. If things continue like this, the company will eventually fail under his control."
"Have you noticed any problems?"
"Plenty. Your father’s thinking is outdated, he's conservative, and without innovation, he'll be eliminated sooner or later."
When it came to his area of expertise, Sebastian had a sense of guiding the world, even more so than usual.
Charming and captivating, he held her gaze. Isabella looked at him and asked, "So... what should I do then?"
"I'll cultivate you," he said. "Are you interested?"
"Me?"
"Come to Lawrence Group, be by my side, and learn," Sebastian met her gaze. "Although it may be challenging, managing your family's company won't be a problem."
This man spoke with such confidence and arrogance, even a hint of madness.
But indeed, he possessed the qualifications.
Sebastian was a rising star in the business world. Many people would beg to have the opportunity to learn from him, yet he handed this chance to her.
Isabella currently had no job. If she relied solely on voice acting, she could live carefree as the heiress of the Wallace family and choose what she liked.
