Chapter 324 Who Was the One He Truly Loved

"Alright, Emily," Isabella said, "go back and focus on your work. I'll take care of things here and then come find you."
"You're not leaving?" Emily wiped away her tears. "You need to go see Grandma."
"Since you've already told her that I'll go on a trip and then visit the nursing home, she must be looking forward to it. I'll give her a call later to let her know I'm safe. So," Isabella said, "I need you to help me check on her, Emily."
Emily nodded continuously. "Alright, you handle it. I won't cause you any trouble. I'll go to the nursing home right away."
No matter how much Isabella pretended to be strong, her eyes were still a little red. She sniffled and said, "Thank you, Emily. Thank you so much."
Emily patted her arm. "Don't cry. I don't want to see you cry."
The butler witnessed this scene, and a hint of heartache flashed in his eyes.
She was truly a kind person, always treating the servants with gentleness. What unforgivable mistakes had she made to warrant such a punishment? Mr. Lawrence was too much.
Thinking this, the butler walked to the corner and called Sebastian to report the situation. Unfortunately, Sebastian didn't answer the call.
The butler had no choice but to call Kaine. From Kaine, the butler learned that Sebastian was in a meeting.
Isabella watched Emily leave, and as she turned around, she keenly noticed the butler sneaking around to pass on information.
Why could the butler make calls with his phone, but she couldn't?
Isabella couldn't be bothered to look at these grumpy bodyguards and walked towards the butler.
Meeting the butler's gaze, Isabella stood still. "Either tell me what's going on or give me your phone."
The butler didn't hide anything from Isabella and said, "Madam, the signal jammer only works within the villa. Once you're outside in the yard, you can use your phone without any problem."
Isabella didn't waste a second. She hurried into the house, ran upstairs, grabbed her phone from the bedroom, and rushed back downstairs. In the yard, Isabella took a deep breath and immediately called her grandmother.
After just one ring, the phone was answered, and a kind yet anxious voice reached Isabella's ears. "Isabella, is it my Isabella?"
Isabella could imagine her grandmother waiting by the phone for her call. Her heart ached terribly.
Isabella suppressed all the negative emotions, lowered her head, leaned against the wall, kicked a pebble on the ground, and smiled brightly. "It's me, Grandma. I'm sorry. Yesterday, when you called me, I was on the plane, and my phone was off. I missed your call."
"It's my fault for making you worry. When I come back to Maple Valley to see you, you can scold me or vent your anger however you like."
Mrs. Wallace's voice sounded much more relaxed. "You silly girl, how could I bear to scold you? I'm getting old and always have wild thoughts. When you didn't answer the phone, I even thought something might have happened to you."
"You were overthinking, Grandma. I'm doing well."
"Yes, yes," Mrs. Wallace reproached herself. "I shouldn't have said those things."
Isabella endured the bitterness in her heart and said affectionately, "Mrs. Wallace, you're the best. I love to hear anything you say, no matter what."
Mrs. Wallace's panic gradually faded, and her voice became more cheerful as she started talking with Isabella about some pregnancy precautions.
Isabella didn't find it nagging at all. She listened attentively and occasionally responded. As she listened to her grandmother's words, a genuine smile appeared on Isabella's face.
But happiness and luck were always fleeting. After Mrs. Wallace finished her instructions, she said, "Go and enjoy yourself, broaden your horizons. Make the most of your youth."
Isabella wished she could continue chatting with her grandmother like this.
However, she couldn't afford to show her emotions, afraid that Mrs. Wallace would worry. So, she replied with an assuring tone and ended the call.
As soon as she put away her phone, the smile on her face vanished as if it had never been there. Now, she was determined, so determined that she had to see Sebastian, no matter what. Isabella bit her lip and clenched her hands.
As for how to leave... Isabella looked around and reassessed the situation. None of the bodyguards in this villa were reasonable. She couldn't rely on them to let her go without offending Sebastian.
The butler said, "Madam, don't worry. The old lady will be fine. Mr. Lawrence will take care of her. Since you're pregnant, it's best not to have too much emotional fluctuation."
Isabella was tired of these grandiose words. She remained calm and unaffected.
But when she saw the genuine concern in the butler's expression, Isabella came up with a new plan. This time, this plan would definitely succeed!
Lawrence Group.
After Sebastian had signed the contract with the new project partner and finalized the collaboration, Kaine approached him as he stepped out of the meeting room.
Sebastian raised an eyebrow and glanced at him, signaling him to continue.
"Mr. Lawrence," Kaine followed behind Sebastian, lowering his voice, and explained in detail what Emily had done and why she had gone to Willowbrook Estate.
Sebastian stopped in his tracks, furrowing his brow.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Lawrence. This morning, Emily asked me for the address of Willowbrook Estate, and without much thought, I told her." Kaine thought that Sebastian was angry at Emily's meddling and quickly took the blame. "It's my fault for not supervising her properly. I exposed your privacy. It's my mistake. Please don't hold it against her."
The corridor was silent.
When Kaine was trembling with fear, thinking that Sebastian wouldn't say anything, he heard him say in a magnetic voice, "I will let you off this time. Make sure it won't happen again."
Afterward, Sebastian pinched the bridge of his nose and said, "Contact Mrs. Wallace's attending physician and tell him that I want to see him."
Kaine acknowledged and then added, "Additionally, Mr. Lawrence, Lynda called and said... she wants to see you."
"I won't see her." Sebastian was not a hypocritical person. Regardless of who deceived him, they would face the consequences, even Lynda.
It was only because he had a special indulgence for Lynda that he spared her. Otherwise, she should have been punished like Isabella.
Kaine replied, "Yes, Mr. Lawrence."
Sebastian grabbed his coat and turned toward the elevator. After taking a few steps, he seemed to think of something and calmly said, "Let her come in the afternoon."
He wanted to clarify some things with Lynda, but he was interrupted last time and didn't get the chance to finish.
Now... he wanted to make it clear as soon as possible.
Kaine obediently agreed, and after Sebastian left, he sighed.
Mr. Lawrence, who was the one you truly loved? It seemed that so far, no one had been able to surpass Lynda in your heart.
But Kaine didn't dare to inquire about his boss's personal matters.
He obediently followed Sebastian's instructions and went about his tasks.
