Chapter 69 Admit That You're Angry
"Wrong," Isabella responded. "I was reproaching and questioning you, so what right do you have to talk about me? I am happy now, Sebastian treats me well, and the Lawrence family approves of me. We're even planning to have a child."
“Bella, one day... Sebastian will truly hurt you, trust me this once.”
"No need to concern yourself. You have no credibility with me anymore," Isabella said. "Besides, haven't you already bought the Souther Mansion as our wedding house? Good things are just around the corner, right?”
"I..."
"Congratulations. If there's a chance, I'd like to get to know Mr. Cooper's fiancée too."
Isabella smiled lightly and looked at the cashier. "Is my order ready? No need to deliver; I have two people here with me who can help carry all of it."
The secretary beside her glanced at her phone, trembling.
Because the phone was on a call, everything Marcus and Isabella said was clearly heard by the person on the other end.
When Kaine handed her the card earlier, he instructed, "Call me after meeting the madam. Don't make a scene or get caught."
The secretary could only comply.
She had a feeling that the more she knew, the worse her fate would be. Isn't that how it's depicted in TV dramas...
Marcus wanted to catch up, but then hesitated. “Bella, take care of yourself.”
However, Isabella seemed to have not heard his words. She picked up the packed box and gracefully walked out of the café. The secretary even kindly held the door for her.
Marcus thought that he had lost her. He believed that if he hadn't gone to rescue Bella when she knelt at the doorstep, but instead sent her money at the hospital later, explained his difficulties, he could make amends and she would forgive him.
But he didn't expect that Sebastian appeared just like that, forcefully taking her away.
In the president's office, Sebastian put down his phone and handed it to Kaine. "You can leave now."
Kaine took his own phone and nodded. “Yes, Mr. Lawrence.”
Sebastian stood up, walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, and lit a cigarette, slowly smoking it.
Yes, anyone slightly perceptive could see the clues in Sebastian and Isabella's marriage, and Isabella, as the party involved, also understood.
She was pretending to be ignorant, compromising with money, bowing down to reality.
If it were in the past, Sebastian would have hoped for a wife like her, obedient and capable of putting his mind at ease.
But now... he didn't want that anymore.
"Isabella, have you ever shown a bit of sincerity staying by my side?"
In the evening, Willowbrook Estate.
The atmosphere was gloomy, and the servants were all cautious, afraid to make a sound and disturb the master.
Isabella looked at the well-prepared dishes on the table and then looked at the man with the bad expression. She bit her lip.
Then, she picked up a piece of mushroom for him and said, "This is delicious, try it."
Sebastian glanced at her and didn't say anything. Instead, he picked the mushroom out of the bowl and threw it onto the plate.
Isabella: "..."
"What's wrong with you?" She couldn't hold back anymore. "Since we finished lunch, you've been wearing that expression. What did I do wrong?"
Sebastian still remained silent.
This man was just too good at cold violence!
Unfortunately, Isabella was straightforward and said whatever was on her mind, without hiding anything.
"Are you angry because I said I wouldn't miss you if you were gone for a week?" she asked. "Or is it because I went to buy coffee and happened to meet Marcus, and we talked, which made you unhappy?"
Finally, Sebastian coldly uttered two words: "Eat dinner."
"...I am eating, it's you who isn't," Isabella replied.
"I just won't eat what you picked for me," he said.
"Why? Are you disgusted that my chopsticks touched it?" Isabella snorted. "But you still kissed me, why didn't you feel disgusted then?"
Sebastian's mouth twitched.
The servants attending to them at the dining table all lowered their heads in unison.
Isabella didn't realize it at all. "You're clearly angry, yet you won't admit it! How can such a grown man be so petty?"
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. Why should she have to worry about him? He disappeared for three days without a word, not allowing her to leave either. Did he explain or give any instructions?
Now he is making demands of her.
Besides, if it was about Marcus, her unequivocal attitude and harsh words toward him indicated that she had no lingering feelings.
"I'm not eating anymore." Isabella put down her chopsticks. "I'm going back to my room."
As she walked away, she glared at Sebastian and then stomped upstairs.
In the dining room, a brief silence fell.
A few seconds later, Sebastian also forcefully put down his bowl, silently got up, and left.
The butler quickly called out, "Clear the table immediately..."
Back in her bedroom, Isabella threw herself onto the bed and covered her face tightly with a pillow.
So infuriating, so infuriating, so infuriating, so infuriating!!
She hadn't done anything wrong, so why was he angry?
She felt like crying, but she held back. She didn't need to be so fragile. Shedding tears over such small matters...that wasn't like her.
"That darn Sebastian, that stinky Sebastian, that poker-faced Sebastian, that icy Sebastian!" Isabella muttered. "Why is he giving me this expression for no reason?"
“Damn, I provoked him. Marcus gave me a good scolding, and I still feel bothered by it.”
"Could it be because I took his card? But that doesn't make sense... He doesn't seem like someone who cares about money. Right, I think the card is in my bag."
Isabella immediately got up, wanting to find it and return it to him.
But then...
As soon as she stood up, her knees collapsed onto the bed, maintaining an extremely eerie posture, while looking at the tall man standing by the bed.
She glanced at the door.
When did Sebastian come in? And why was there no sound?
"I took your bank card today, and I'm returning it now," Isabella tried very hard to stay composed, got off the bed, and said, "I'll go get it."
Unfortunately, her shoes were on the side where Sebastian was standing, so she had to get off from that side.
Before she could even put her feet into the shoes, Isabella was forcefully pushed back, and immediately after, Sebastian's body covered hers, completely overpowering her.
Isabella ended up in a mess. When she came to her senses, she found Sebastian's face just inches away from hers.
Looking at his handsome face, she felt annoyed!!!
"What are you doing?" She pushed him away. "Can't you let a person get something?"
"Why are you getting so angry?"
“I’m not!” Isabella replied. “When I say I’m not, I mean I’m not.”
"No one has ever dared to show me a bad attitude right to my face," Sebastian said, "You are the first."
