Chapter 401 Your Love Will Turn into a Sharp Blade
Isabella opened the car door and was about to get in when she heard Grace's words and paused.
"It's Lynda. It's really Lynda. Sebastian knows. He found the evidence long ago, and you can ask him!” Grace shouted at the top of her lungs, her neck and face turning red from the effort.
Mario forcefully dragged her away, and she slowed her steps with all her strength. "Isabella, I'm just a scapegoat. Arresting me is useless! The real culprit is Lynda, not me. Could it be..."
Grace sneered, "You can't do anything to Lynda, so you're taking it out on me? Well, Sebastian got the evidence and knew the truth, but he didn't do anything to Lynda. Lynda is living well now."
Isabella's heart suddenly tightened with uneasiness.
Grace's words unexpectedly echoed in her ears, overlapping with Samuel's ambiguous statements from before.
"It seems Mr. Lawrence has kept quite a few things from Miss Wallace."
"Mr. Lawrence lied to you, but as for what he lied about, you'll have to figure out yourself."
"Sebastian found the evidence long ago."
"Sebastian knew the truth after getting the evidence, but he didn't do anything to Lynda."
Samuel's and Grace's words intertwined and overlapped, replaying in Isabella's mind.
Isabella remained bent over, her spine arching like a bow.
"Mrs. Lawrence." Billy turned his head and looked at her nervously. "Are you okay? Are you feeling unwell? Should I notify Mr. Lawrence?"
Isabella calmly shook her head. "I'm fine."
She retracted her foot to the ground, turned around, and said to Mario, "Wait a minute!"
Isabella remained composed; she trusted Sebastian, even until now.
Isabella knew clearly who was more trustworthy between family and strangers and betweenhusband versus those who had harmed her .
'Isabella, you can't be swayed by outsiders.'
'Isabella, you need to stay calm. You can't act impulsively. Trust is fragile. Once broken, it's hard to repair,’ Isabella silently warned herself.
Finally, she stood in front of Grace, maintaining a safe distance.
Her face was cold. "Grace, do you know the consequences of talking nonsense?"
Grace tried to see a breakdown on Isabella's face.
However, there was none.
How could she be so calm?
"Surprised by my calmness?" Isabella asked and answered herself, speaking softly, "Because I don't believe you at all."
"You and Lynda just want to provoke me andmake me miscarry and break down?" Isabella shook her head. "Forget it. It’s not going to happen."
Grace's eyes widened as she glare at Isabella, shouting angrily, "I'm not lying! Isabella, Sebastian really knows the whole truth. He has all the evidence!"
'That's impossible,’ Isabella said softly in her heart.
Sebastian told her he hadn't found the evidence.
He said he would tell her if he found any.
He also said he suspected Lynda, and if he had evidence, he would give her an explanation and punish Lynda.
When Isabella thought of this, her mind flashed with Sebastian's strange behavior these days.
Those oddities she found strange but couldn't understand.
Isabella's heart suddenly ached, as if many tiny ants were biting and gnawing at her heart.
'Impossible.'
'Impossible.'
'Definitely not.'
Isabella quickly extinguished the thoughts in her mind.
She couldn't fall for it.
Isabella smiled, a mocking snort escaping her nose. "Where's the evidence?"
"Lynda texted me! Isabella, how can there be such a foolish woman like you in this world!"
Isabella crossed her arms, coldly watching the hysterical Grace.
She shrugged and nodded. "Alright, where's the text?"
She calmly extended her hand.
Grace was incredulous. "You trust Sebastian that much?"
"I trust my husband. Is there a problem?" Isabella retorted, wiggling her fingers. "Show me the text."
Grace gritted her teeth and shook her head. "Isabella, I don't have the text. My phone broke. But I have no reason to lie to you. You'll find out sooner or later, and when you do, you'll break down."
"Phone broke? Good excuse." Isabella laughed.
"Your love for Sebastian is so deep. In just a few months, you've come to love him this much. Neither I nor Lynda can compare to you,." Grace suddenly said, her face showing admiration.
Before Isabella could understand what Grace was up to, the admiration on Grace's face vanished, replaced by wild laughter.
She leaned forward, stretched her neck, and said word by word, "Isabella, I'm waiting for the day you find out the truth!"
"On that day, all your love for Sebastian will turn into a sharp knife, stabbing your heart, slicing it piece by piece!"
With that, Grace laughed so hard that tears came out.
Isabella was resolute. "That day will never come."
A few concise words negated Grace's entire rant.
"Fool!" Grace spat at Isabella. "You fool!"
Isabella dodged and looked at Mario beside her. "Take her to the basement and lock her up tight."
"Yes!"
Isabella didn't linger; she turned and waved to Billy, who drove the car over.
She opened the car door and got in.
The car sped away, and Grace stomped her feet, shouting several times, "Isabella, you're so stubborn!"
No one paid her any attention, and no one responded. And she ended up inhaling a mouthful of exhaust fumes.
She wanted to say something more, but the exhaust fumes choked her words.
Grace's face turned red with anger, and what made her even angrier was Mario's unmerciful dragging.
Mario hailed a car and roughly threw her in.
She tried to escape, but Mario pressed her head against the car window, her face almost deformed from the pressure.
Then she heard Mario say, "Mr. Lawrence, there's something I need to report to you."
Mario recounted everything that had happened in detail, including Isabella's unwavering trust in Sebastian.
Sebastian had just left the conference room when he received the call.
He stopped in his tracks, his heart soaring and floating in the air.
He raised an eyebrow, his voice hoarse, and asked softly, "Did she show any unusual behavior?"
"Mrs. Lawrence trusts you very much, she wasn't swayed by anyone, and she acted as usual," Mario replied.
