Chapter 388 Don't Trust Others Too Much, Except Me

Handling the most ordinary things, Isabella was still able to catch Sebastian eyes, so dazzling.

"What are you thinking about?" Isabella called Sebastian several times, helplessly tugging at his sleeve. "Snap out of it."

Under Sebastian's stare, Isabella's cheeks were particularly hot.

In front of William, she felt a bit embarrassed.

Sebastian first held Isabella's hand in return, and after this subconscious action, he asked, "Huh? What's wrong?"

William didn't want to watch, so he extended his cane and lightly tapped Sebastian's leg, pretending to say, "You don't even care about me, only Isabella."

Sebastian wrapped his arm around Isabella's shoulder. "If you're jealous..."

Before he could finish, William hit him with the cane. "Looks like Isabella doesn't discipline you much. You rascal, still daring to bully your grandma's man."

"If you're jealous, I'll show off more in front of you. You don't have the ability to foresee the future, Grandpa," Sebastian said, "Grandma has been gone for so many years. However, you remain a good husband as always. I should learn from you."

Listening to their conversation, Isabella covered her mouth and chuckled.

"You think you know so much," William said awkwardly, coughing, "Ask the doctor if Isabella can be discharged now. If she can, get a family doctor and take Isabella back to the Lawrence House. You've been busy lately, I can't trust you to take care of Isabella."

Sebastian indeed had a lot of things to deal with recently. Even if he made time to accompany Isabella, his care might still not be thorough enough.

Going to the Lawrence House for a period of recuperation was a good idea.

He thought for a few seconds and looked at Isabella.

Isabella had no objections. For the sake of the baby, she fully supported the idea.

Beside, she could thank Jarod.

Last time, Jarod told her about Sebastian's true feelings for her, but she hadn't had the chance to thank him.

Moreover, she might be able to ask Jarod to help investigate the car accident.

"I'm in," Isabella said.

"Alright." Sebastian nodded, patting Isabella's shoulder. "I'll go find the attending doctor."

Isabella's condition had stabilized, and with a family doctor, being discharged wouldn't be much different from staying in the hospital.

Thomas naturally agreed to the discharge.

Thus, it was decided that Sebastian and Isabella would move into the Lawrence House.

William was undoubtedly the happiest person.

He went back to the Lawrence House ahead of time to have the rooms cleaned, prepare essential items for the pregnant woman, and arrange for a family doctor.

"Going to the Lawrence House might feel restrictive. If you feel uncomfortable, don't keep it to yourself. Just tell me, okay?"

On the way, Sebastian held Isabella in his arms, constantly playing with her hand.

Her hand was slender and well-defined, with beautifully trimmed nails.

Sebastian had a few inappropriatethoughts.

Isabella had no idea what he was thinking, closing her eyes and leaning obediently against Sebastian's chest, helplessly saying, "Alright, I'll tell you whatever's on my mind."

Sebastian licked his dry lips, his gaze shifting from Isabella's hand, his large hand clasping hers, their fingers intertwined.

"Good girl," he said.

"And," Sebastian particularly reminded, "be careful with Jarod, avoid contact as much as possible."

Sebastian had considered a lot about Jarod, an uncertain factor, but with William around, Jarod wouldn't do anything.

The Lawrence House was definitely safer than Willowbrook Estate.

The car Jackson drove had brake issues, clearly caused by someone from Willowbrook Estate, a person far more dangerous than Jarod.

He needed to take this time to reorganize Willowbrook Estate.

"Jarod, he...."

"What's wrong?" Sebastian wasn't pleased with Isabella's mention of Jarod, pinching her cheek.

Isabella knew Jarod's secret.

She thought for a moment and half-jokingly said, "Jarod might not be what he seems on the surface."

"Isabella," Sebastian laughed, "don't trust others too much."

As if thinking of something, Sebastian lowered his eyes, his gaze darkening, and added, "Except me."

Isabella wasn't in a position to expose Jarod's hidden secret, so she responded and didn't continue the topic about Jarod.

She raised her head, her cheeks slightly red. "Yes."

Sebastian stared at her without blinking. Her sweet smile and dependent gaze made his heart flutter.

His heart stirred, and a strong sense of possessiveness began to grow wildly. He subconsciously tightened his grip on Isabella's hand.

Isabella was also observing Sebastian. She vaguely felt something was off. Why did Sebastian seem so preoccupied today?

"Mr. Lawrence, Mrs. Lawrence, we've arrived." The driver's respectful reminder interrupted Isabella's thoughts.

After thanking the driver, Isabella considerately said to Sebastian, "There must be a lot of work at the company, and Joshua might need you to keep an eye on things. You should go quickly, I'll stay obediently at the Lawrence House and wait for you to come back in the evening."

Sebastian shook his head. "I'll walk you inside."

"Sit properly and go to work early, so you can come back early," Isabella withdrew her hand, pressing Sebastian's shoulder, and smiled to the driver, "Please take him to the company, right now."

After giving her instructions, Isabella quickly got out of the car.

Standing outside the car door, although she couldn't see the people inside, she was still smiling.

She knew Sebastian could see her smile inside the car.

A smile could make people happy. Isabella wanted Sebastian to feel at ease and happy when he saw her smiling.

Watching the car leave, Isabella received a message.

Sebastian: [Don't be too considerate. I'll feel sorry for you.]

The phone almost slipped from Isabella's hand.

He flirted with her again!

Isabella's legs went weak, her cheeks flushed, and she gently touched her belly, blushing as she said softly, "Your dad is so clingy."

"Isabella!" A clear and excited female voice echoed in her ears.

Isabella's smile didn't fade as she looked in the direction of the voice and waved to Amber from afar.

Amber jogged over, bent down, placed her hands on her thighs, and panted heavily.

Before catching her breath, Amber couldn't help but grab Isabella's arm, anxiously asking, "Isabella, is it true? Two babies? Twins? Grandpa wasn't lying, right?"

"Yes." Isabella smiled and confirmed.

Amber blinked, looking down at Isabella's belly, and couldn't help but reach out, gently touching it, then quickly pulling back as if she had been shocked.
