Chapter 460 Wanting Isabella to Hurt Like Him

She thought, 'Sebastian tells me not to lie, but he can spin a huge lie and set me up? Lynda bullied me so badly, yet he never thought about punishing her. If Samuel hadn't stepped in, Lynda would be living the good life.'

"No, no one kidnapped me." Isabella swallowed her bitterness and said calmly, "Let's talk about this back at Willowbrook Estate."

Sebastian's eyes narrowed, like he was piecing something together. "So, you went with him willingly?"

Isabella didn't want to engage. "Think whatever you want."

She wasn't going to back down anymore; backing down only got her hurt. She was done with that.

Sebastian repeated, "So, you went with him willingly, right?"

"Can you stop asking? Can we talk about this at home?" Isabella was getting impatient. She didn't want to argue with Sebastian, especially not in front of others; it was too humiliating.

"Why can't I ask? Are you scared to answer?" Sebastian's heart felt like it was being torn apart. He swallowed hard and said, "If you're scared, fine, I'll say it."

Sebastian's eyes turned icy. He grabbed Isabella's chin and pulled her close, the knife pressing against her forehead, cold and painful.

The chill from the knife seeped into her skin, reaching her heart.

Sebastian continued, "You went with him willingly. So, after I stopped you, you two kept in touch, right? Yesterday, Lynda was taken by the police. This was your plan, wasn't it? All the promises you made to me were lies, just to deceive me, right?"

Every sentence Sebastian spoke felt like a crushing weight on his body.

Finally, he gritted his teeth, his gaze shifting from Isabella's bathrobe to Samuel's.

The first time he saw them in bathrobes, hugging, he didn't think much of it. Now, he couldn't help but wonder about their relationship.

Last night, while he was in surgery after the car accident, what were they doing?

The thought was driving him insane. His pride in his calm demeanor was crumbling.

Sebastian's breath was shaky, a hint of a sob in his voice, "Did you two sleep together last night?"

Isabella's heart turned cold at his words. She couldn't believe Sebastian would think that. Kidnapping was one thing, but to suggest she had been with another man?

She remembered when Sebastian wanted her to forgive Lynda and him, offering her money and bags. That was the first time he unintentionally humiliated her. Now, this was the second time.

To him, she was probably just a money-hungry, fickle woman. Sebastian would never see that it was his mistakes and lies that drove her away. He would only hurt, humiliate her, and even point a knife at her.

She thought, "Is there anyone worse than Sebastian in this world?"

Isabella's heart, though battered and numb, still ached.

"Mr. Lawrence, don't you think your words are a bit too harsh?" Samuel smiled, but his eyes were icy. "Mrs. Lawrence and I..."

"Yes," Isabella cut him off, staring straight at Sebastian, her chin up, a twisted smile on her lips. "We've been in touch all along. Everything I said about forgiving you was a lie to make you drop your guard. See, now Lynda's in jail, isn't she? We pulled it off. And yeah, we did it, Sebastian. Isn't it obvious?"

She thought, 'Sebastian, you once said I could lie to you once, so here it is. You think I'm tainted, so let's get a divorce. But why is it so easy for you to lie, and so painful for me? My eyes are burning, and I want to cry.'

Isabella fought back her tears, but her bright smile masked the pain in her eyes. She was actually smiling, and it felt oddly satisfying.

Sebastian's eyes were dark, locked onto Isabella.

In his world, there was only Isabella, and in his ears, only her voice.

Seeing her cold demeanor and hearing her cruel words, Sebastian felt a different kind of pain, unlike the fear he felt when Isabella was hospitalized and nearly miscarried.

That was fear; now, it was pure rage. At the same time, Sebastian felt humiliated.

He thought, 'I'm not good to her? What else does she want me to do? Does she really want me to die?'

"Are you serious?" Sebastian's voice was so hoarse it was almost unrecognizable.

Isabella nodded. "Yes, I'm not lying."

"Isabella," Sebastian's whole body ached, his head, heart, and limbs all in agony. He exhaled, "You're asking for death."

Sebastian thought about how foolish he had been last night, believing she had been kidnapped.

He had run so recklessly in the heavy rain, chasing after her as if his life depended on it. Fortunately, he had been lucky and avoided any accidents.

Lynda deserved it, but with the Baker family's influence, he couldn't act. He had already done his best to satisfy her.

How dare Isabella betray him! Sebastian felt a murderous rage. He wanted Isabella to feel the same pain he did.

But Sebastian's hands were trembling, his fingers cold; he couldn't bring himself to hurt her, not even able to grip the knife properly. He could be ruthless to himself, but not to Isabella.

Isabella seemed to read his thoughts, her lips curling up as she glanced at him.

"Do it." She closed her eyes.

Her eyelashes were long and thick, curling upwards. When the light shone from above, it cast a shadow.

Sebastian couldn't see any change in Isabella; she still looked so obedient. How could she suddenly become so hurtful?

He was furious, burning with anger, which consumed his rationality.

He gripped the knife handle harder, the veins in his hand throbbing, showing how angry he was.

But from beginning to end, no matter how much force Sebastian used, he controlled the knife tip, never letting it touch Isabella.
