Chapter 453 Police Arrived

That face, all sharp angles, the lines crisscrossing to show his indifference. Those eyes, colder than this stormy sky.

Lynda racked her brain but couldn't remember a single time Sebastian had been kind to her. He totally intimidated her.

That man held her hand as they walked towards the center, but her eyes never left Sebastian.

Lynda's eyes were full of pleading. She didn't want this. Sebastian knew she cared most about money, wealth, status.

What was wrong with going after what she wanted?

These days, everyone looked out for themselves, survival of the fittest. Isabella almost died, almost had a miscarriage; that was simply Isabella failing to protect herself!

Sebastian completely ignored her, standing tall and aloof in the corner.

Hatred grew wildly in Lynda's chest, becoming a towering tree.

She hated, she deeply hated Samuel for tricking her into an engagement, hated Sebastian for forcing her to get engaged to this guy, and hated Isabella even more, wishing she could torture her to death!

Edward was still diligently hosting the engagement, the scene lively and grand, but Lynda couldn't hear a word Edward was saying.

She was lost in her own world, fantasizing about getting revenge on Isabella, imagining Sebastian and Samuel treating her like they used to, holding her in the palm of their hands.

The more she thought about it, the redder Lynda's face became, her pale cheeks flushing with short streaks of blood, making her look shy.

"I was forced to get engaged to you, and this is our first meeting, yet you're blushing," this guy chuckled, leaning close to Lynda's ear, his tone kinda sleazy, "Do you like me? I didn't know I was so charming. This job is great, money and a beautiful woman."

Lynda felt a cold sensation like a snake slithering into her ear.

She clenched her hands tightly, her palms stinging from her nails digging in, the beautiful nails she had just done a few days ago breaking in the middle.

Lynda trembled uncontrollably, biting her lip and glaring viciously at the guy in front of her.

He grinned and whispered to Lynda, "I'm Dominic, your fiancé."

He sighed. "In my hometown, we don't have engagement ceremonies, we just get married directly. Even if we do get married, it wouldn't be this grand."

As he spoke, Dominic took out a ring, grabbed Lynda's hand, and put it on her finger. "You're my wife now. Don't worry, I'll treat you well. Mr. Lawrence gave me two hundred thousand dollars and will send us abroad. How wonderful."

Then, Dominic intertwined his fingers with Lynda's, raised their hands high, and unlike when he spoke to Lynda, he raised his voice to address the guests, "This is my wife!"

Someone responded from below, "Congratulations, congratulations."

Lynda felt a tightness in her chest, difficulty breathing, her vision blurring, black and white alternating, almost fainting.

It wasn't just because of Dominic's outrageous words, but also because Lynda vaguely realized that the few people responding had been the same from the beginning!

It was clear it was Sebastian's plan.

It was the first time Lynda had seen such a heartless side of Sebastian.

He had pampered her, and in the blink of an eye, pushed her into hell. He could be gentle, but he could also be ruthless. Once she defied him, it was game over.

Lynda had faked heart attacks and angina several times, but this time, she was really in pain.

Sebastian withdrew his gaze indifferently, and when Kaine returned to his side, he said coldly, "After this is over, send Lynda to Pine Ridge Gardens for the night, and send her abroad tomorrow. From now on, she is not allowed to return to the country."

Kaine responded, "Yes, Mr. Lawrence."

Sebastian glanced at the time; nearly twenty minutes had passed.

These twenty minutes would be enough for Lynda to remember for a lifetime. Her life would change from this moment on.

With a mocking smile, he furrowed his brows and glanced towards the restroom.

Sebastian didn't see Isabella come out, but instead saw Marcus and Heather standing at the end of the hallway. The two of them had strange expressions, occasionally glancing at each other and whispering.

Seeing this, Sebastian played with an unlit cigarette in his hand, his brows furrowing even more. A sense of unease flashed through his mind.

He was about to walk over when suddenly, the sound of police sirens blared outside. Then, the hotel doors were forcibly pushed open, and a group of detectives rushed in, striding towards Lynda.

"Lynda, you are Lynda, right?" A police officer showed his badge. "Someone reported that you committed murder. Come with us."

Lynda, struggling to breathe, saw the police in front of her, and her breath hitched, making it even harder to exhale. She opened her mouth, her right hand clutching her chest. "Nonsense! I didn't do it!"

The charge of murder was too serious, and the hotel fell silent for a moment.

Dominic, who had been holding Lynda's hand, recoiled as if shocked, quickly letting go and stepping back to distance himself from her.

"I knew it wasn't going to be that easy," he said, his face pale, waving his hands at the police. "It has nothing to do with me. I have nothing to do with this woman."

Lynda's body swayed, and for the first time, she was this afraid of Sebastian. He wanted to completely destroy her. He said he would let her go, but he never did!

He used prison to threaten her, set her up to marry Dominic. Then he called the police to arrest her.

How could there be such a heartless person in the world?

Lynda looked up at the police officer in uniform, full of righteousness, and saw Ruth!

She thought, 'What's going on? Why is Ruth here? Wasn't she dealt with by Samuel yesterday? Is this Sebastian's doing, or Samuel's last move?'

Lynda couldn't figure it out, nor did she have the time or energy to guess.

She clutched her chest, shaking her head. "No, I didn't! This is slander! Baseless accusations!" she rasped, loudly denying it.

At this moment, Ruth stepped out from behind a police officer, pointing at Lynda.
