Chapter 23 My wife is missing
Lawrence Group, CEO's office.
The head of the PR department asked, "Mr. Lawrence, you are planning to announce the news of your marriage... am I correct?"
"Yes."
"Then, would it be possible for you to provide a photo of you and your wife?"
Sebastian was taken aback by this question.
He and Isabella... they didn't have a photo together, only the one on their marriage certificate. He couldn't possibly use that.
This realization filled him with frustration. He took out a cigarette but didn't light it, then discarded it with a flick of his hand. "What do you need a photo for?"
The head of the department was taken aback by his ever-changing mood. "Mr. Lawrence, if you announce the news of your marriage, you need to include a photo of you and your wife. Otherwise, no one will know who Mrs. Lawrence is."
"I just want to announce the news of our marriage, I don't want her to make an appearance, or to be widely known."
The head of the department remained silent, choosing to respect the CEO’s wish, thinking Mr. Lawrence may want it this way to maintain their privacy.
“Mr. Lawrence, I can't argue with you on this.” Was the reply from the PR Manager.
"Never mind." Sebastian frowned, "There's a new product launch in the marketing department this afternoon. I will attend, and at that time, I will announce the news of our marriage."
"Alright, Mr. Lawrence." The head of the department immediately nodded. "I will make the arrangements."
Sebastian waved his hand.
He picked up the cigarette he had casually tossed onto the coffee table, reached for a lighter, and just as he was about to light it, when his phone rang.
Sebastian lit the cigarette while answering , "What's going on?"
"Mr. Lawrence," the driver's panicked voice came through, "your wife... she... she's gone!"
A pale plume of smoke rose, Sebastian had almost chocked on the smoke as he rapidly exhaled, his urgent voice rang out, "What are you saying?"
"My wife is missing."
The driver sounded anxious and trembling. "She hasn't come out of the hospital since she went in. I waited and waited, something didn't feel right, so I called her, but no one answered. When I called again, her phone was turned off."
"I'll went to the hospital immediately and checked. The nurses and the attending physician all said that she left an hour ago..."
How could she just disappear out of the blue?
In that moment, Sebastian felt like his heart had been emptied, followed by a plummeting sensation.
He stood up, grabbed his car keys, and ran outside.
Kaine rarely saw Mr. Lawrence in such a state of panic. He dashed past like a gust of wind.
Kaine quickly followed, "Mr. Lawrence, Mr. Lawrence, what's happened?"
Sebastian pressed the elevator button forcefully, his face so dark it seemed like water could drip from it.
"Go immediately and check the hospital's surveillance footage. Also, make inquiries through both legal and illegal channels. Let it be known that whoever has dared to touch Sebastian's woman...”
"Must Hand her over now!" he did not need to continue with the threat as his reputation would speak for itself.
Kaine was also shocked. His wife was in danger?
"Yes, Mr. Lawrence!"
Once Sebastian made it to the parking lot he entered the fastest sports car he had, bringing the engine roaring to life. Sebastian stepped on the gas pedal and hurried to the hospital.
The driver was trembling like a sieve. The two well-trained bodyguards bowed their heads, already prepared to face Mr. Lawrence's anger.
He got out of the car and kicked at the two bodyguards directly, "What are you good for? Two people watching one person, and you still managed to lose her?!"
"Mr. Lawrence," the bodyguard answered in pain, "it's our negligence. We thought that the Madam would be safe in the hospital, so we didn't follow her inside, and just guarded the gate..."
"Useless!" He spat out furiously.
Sebastian walked quickly towards the surveillance room. Even the hospital director was alarmed and hurried over. After hearing what happened, he was also scared out of his wits, knowing their would be repercussions.
If something happened to Mrs. Lawrence in the hospital and she was seriously injured, Mr. Lawrence might tear this hospital down!

Sebastian stared at the screen, not letting any detail go unnoticed, afraid to miss anything.
Finally, when he saw Isabella's figure appear on the monitor, he held his breath and clenched his fists.
Isabella pushed open the door and entered the adjacent stairwell. A few dozen seconds later, a tall, black figure followed her in.
After that, the two of them never came out again.
"Check the surveillance of the other exits, the garage, the back door, all the doors, retrieve them immediately!" Sebastian gave orders, "Right away!"
"Yes, Mr. Lawrence." They all scattered trying to carry out the given order as fast as possible.
However, no matter how they searched through the surveillance footage, they couldn't find any trace of the two leaving.
They didn't even see the man's face. Trying to find Isabella's whereabouts like this was like finding a needle in a haystack.
Sebastian's face turned pale with anger.
"Find her for me, at any cost, no matter what it takes!"
They would dig three feet underground and search every corner of New York to find Isabella!
He left the hospital, quickly mobilizing his own manpower, and distributed them to various places to search for Isabella.
At the same time, he also reported the abduction to the police, his influence ensuring he got their full co-operation.
"Tell them," Sebastian looked at Kaine, "whoever finds Isabella will be rewarded generously."
"Yes, Mr. Lawrence."
At this moment, at the press conference venue. Joshua was sitting on the stage, constantly looking at the time and continuously sending messages to Sebastian, but he didn't receive any response.
It was almost time for the media to ask questions and conduct interviews... Wasn't Sebastian supposed to make the engagement announcement here.
Why hadn't anyone shown up? What was going on?
Just as Joshua was about to stand up and make a phone call, someone crouched down and approached him from behind on the stage.
"President Johnson, something happened."
"What happened?"
"Mrs.Lawrence was taken by an unknown individual and Mr. Lawrence is currently searching the City for her whereabouts. It seems he won't be able to make it.” Kaine said.
"Please take care of this matter. We cannot afford any negligence."
Joshua frowned, "Missing? How can a living person disappear... was she kidnapped?" he tried to get more details from Mr.kaine.
