"Isabella," Anthony's voice came through, "didn't keep you waiting long, did I? Ah, Brittany, you're here too."
Brittany looked somewhat surprised. "Are you Sebastian's new wife?"
"Yes," Isabella nodded. "However, starting today, I am also the secretary of the Lawrence Group. Nice to meet you, my name is Isabella. Please take care of me from now on."
Brittany reached out her hand. "Hello, I'm Brittany."
After giving the two a glance, Anthony chuckled, "Brittany, would you like to have dinner together?"
"No, I have a business trip in the afternoon, no time," she smiled. "Next time, I'll treat you both."
"Okay, Brittany, bye-bye."
Isabella got into the car and asked, “Brittany is so beautiful.”
"Yes, indeed. Every time our talent scouts see her, they say they want to recruit her."
"But... it seems like there's a story between her and Joshua."
"Well, it's quite a dramatic entanglement," Anthony nodded. "It's quite poignant."
Gossiping is part of woman's nature.
In the restaurant, Anthony told Isabella about Joshua and Brittany's affair in great details.
She had her mouth wide open the entire time, with a look of astonishment and mixed emotions. "How can it be... Joshua doesn't seem like that kind of scumbag."
"I thought the same. But there is concrete evidence, so they broke up just like that," Anthony spoke on and on, taking a sip of water to moisten his throat. "I heard that Brittany initiated the breakup and Joshua readily agreed without any hesitation."
"He didn't even apologize or anything?"
"That's right. Brittany loved him so much that if he'd shed tears and made promises, she might have softened. But...he didn't."
Isabella had a favorable impression of Joshua. He was humorous, sensible, without any distance between them, and had helped her several times. Who would have thought...he was a scumbag.
"Given that they work in the same company, won't it be awkward when they meet?"
"I'm not sure, I rarely come to the Lawrence Group," Anthony replied. "But did you notice the way Joshua looked at Brittany today?"
Isabella nodded.
"It was clearly a lingering affection, a deep love that couldn't be let go...but then, why didn't he ask for her forgiveness in the beginning?"
"Perhaps he knew he had done wrong, felt guilty and unworthy of her?"
Anthony picked up a piece of beef and chewed it slowly. "Possibly. I heard that when they were caught in bed together, Joshua had the stench of alcohol all over him."
"Being unfaithful while drunk..."
"It's all just hearsay. Only the people involved know what really happened."
Isabella pondered for a moment. "The most unbelievable thing about this whole situation, in my opinion, is Brittany's cousin."
"Exactly!" Anthony vigorously nodded in agreement. "So every time I see her, I roll my eyes. She knows that guy is her cousin's boyfriend, yet she still got involved. What was she thinking?"
Isabella took a bite of her meal but then hesitated, realizing that she had something specific to ask Anthony today. It suddenly became hard to swallow.
She took a sip of water before looking up and saying, "You know a lot of gossip, don't you?"
"That's right," Anthony boasted. "There is no gossip that escapes from me. Whether it's about the Lawarence Group or the entertainment industry."
Isabella asked, "What about Sebastian?"
Anthony froze for a moment. "Him?"
