Chapter 217 You're Going to Be a Great-Grandfather

"Sebastian, Isabella!" A clear female voice rang out, breaking the awkward silence.
Amber pushed open the door, revealing just her head, and greeted them with a cheery smile, "Hurry up, we're all waiting for you."
Isabella's eyes curved up, and a smile spread across her lips, "Okay, coming right now."
Amber responded affirmatively and pulled her head back in.
Isabella’s smile faded as she said, "Let’s not keep Grandfather waiting any longer; let’s go inside."
Sebastian didn't move or walk; she glanced at him and saw his expressionless face, clearly indicating his irritation.
Isabella opened her mouth to speak, but then Sebastian suddenly said, "Let's go."
He was becoming increasingly difficult to serve, and it was wearing her out.
A flicker of weariness passed through Isabella's eyes as she proactively looped her arm through Sebastian's.
Simultaneously, she felt Sebastian hug her more tightly.
The couple, from their heights to their appearances, were so well-matched. They looked intimate from afar, like any other ordinary loving couple.
"Grandpa, look how affectionate Sebastian is with his wife. Don’t be mad at him anymore. It’s not easy to have a family banquet, so why don’t you smile? Who knows? Maybe Sebastian has some good news for you," Amber coaxed Mr. Lawrence Sr softly.
Mr. Lawrence Sr. snorted, "Him? It would be enough if he didn’t make me angry; what good news could I expect from him?"
"It seems that Grandfather isn’t interested in the good news I brought today." The servant opened the door, and Sebastian stepped into the hall.
Amber had said it casually, not expecting there really was news.
She asked excitedly, "Sebastian, stop keeping us in suspense; what's the good news?!"
Mr. Lawrence Sr. sat up straight, "If you don’t want to say it, forget it. You’re just continuing your bad habits."
Despite what he said, Mr. Lawrence Sr.’s hand gripping his walking stick trembled slightly, and his eyes shone brighter than usual.
Sebastian remained silent, holding Isabella as they sat on the couch while Sebastian crossed his legs nonchalantly, resting an arm on the back of the sofa, playing with Isabella's hair, and smilingly gazing at her profile.
One pair, two pairs, three pairs... many pairs of eyes turned towards Isabella.
Due to her bashfulness, Isabella blushed under everyone's gaze.
She lowered her head, catching a glimpse of Sebastian's calm face and amusingly smirking expression out of the corner of her eye.
He was doing this on purpose!
He had already played such tricks on her twice today!
"Isabella!" The Lawrences were clever folk; it was clear what the good news was.
Amber shoved Sebastian aside and gripped Isabella's hand with surprise, "I-I-I... am going to be an aunt, aren't I?"
Sebastian grabbed Amber's arm, "Behave yourself."
That was as good as a confirmation, and the eyes fixed on Isabella now burned even more intensely.
Under the attentive gaze of the Lawrence family, young and old, Isabella curved her lips and nodded, meeting Mr. Lawrence Sr.'s eager eyes, "Grandfather, you're going to be a great-grandfather."
Initially, the room fell so silent that you could hear a pin drop.
Then, the next second—
Mr. Lawrence Sr. burst into hearty laughter, "Great news, fantastic news indeed, Isabella is truly a great contributor to our home! In a few days, I'll arrange for some professional caregivers to be sent to Willowbrook Estate; they must take good care of you."
"Isabella, I love you to death!" Amber pushed Sebastian's hand away, ignoring him, and affectionately snuggled up to Isabella, "I must take on more endorsements! I need to buy formula for the baby!"
Byron, who was always serious, couldn't help but smile and nod.
Even Jarod nodded at Isabella and offered his congratulations.
The entire Lawrence Family was revolving around Isabella, which made her feel even more embarrassed.
Her face was burning hot, and so was her heart.
The Lawrence Family was really very warm-hearted. Babies growing up in such a family would be happy even without her, she thought.
With this thought, Isabella's smile turned somewhat stiff as her heart twinged with pain.
What could she possibly do? She simply didn't have the ability to take the baby away. The baby belonged to Sebastian; it was already agreed upon.
All she could do was to wholeheartedly nurture the baby and cherish the time they had together.
Isabella regained her smile and gently touched her abdomen, "Thank you, Grandpa, thank you, Dad and big brother, Jarod, Amber."
"Isabella, no need for such politeness among family!" Amber, with her lively and radiant personality, was full of mischievous ideas.
She exclaimed, "Isabella, my agent recorded growth journals and vlogs from the moment she knew about her baby. Are you and Sebastian prepared for something like that?"
To be honest, before meeting Sebastian, Isabella had never considered having children.
She was young after all; who would think of having kids so early?
So, after getting pregnant, she was caught off guard and still couldn't quite grasp all the precautions to take, let alone think about things like journals and vlogs.
She shook her head blankly.
Amber then looked towards Sebastian, who had been squeezed out of the sofa and was standing behind Isabella.
Sebastian countered with a question, "What do you think?"
"Just as I expected, no help from you!"
Amber continued talking to Isabella, "My agent's child is three years old now, and seeing the growth records prepared by the parents made the child both shy and curious. It's so much fun."
Instantly, Isabella was engrossed in Amber's narrative, picturing the scenes in her mind as if she could imagine her future baby's surprised expression.
Her heart was stirred.
She felt a sudden urge to do everything Isabella was talking about.
Amber tempted her further, "Isabella, this will be a precious treasure for the baby."
Isabella clenched her fist, bit her lip, and turned to look up at Sebastian with an inquiring gaze.
He was twirling her hair playfully, "Do you want to journal and vlog too?"
His actions were suggestive, making Isabella blush in front of so many people.
She actually knew that Sebastian would probably disagree.
He surely didn't want her to get too close to the baby; otherwise, the child’s relationship with Lynda in the future would be problematic.
But the child would be born after she carried it for nine months. It was only natural that a baby would love its own birth mother.
"Yes! I want to make vlogs and journal too!" Isabella declared with finality.
With Mr. Lawrence Sr. around, she knew she had to seize this excellent opportunity.
"Take photos, starting from today's family dinner," Mr. Lawrence Sr. said with vigor, making his decision on the spot. "Whatever others have, my great-grandchild must have too."
"Grandpa, you're the best!" Isabella's eyes sparkled with a mischievous twinkle.
"Do whatever you want as long as it's good for the child. I'm behind you all the way. Some people," he continued, turning to Isabella after addressing her, and then prodded Sebastian's shoulder with his cane, "lack any sense of romance. Don't mind them."
Mr. Lawrence Sr. poked Sebastian, "What are you standing around for? Don't tell me you've been collecting cameras for nothing?"
Isabella couldn't be more thrilled.
So, what if Sebastian was the big bad wolf? There was always someone who could tame him.
She thought to herself with glee, 'That'll kill you, that'll just kill you,' but her face showed a sly smile, "Sebastian, thank you for your hard work."
