Chapter 102 You Will Regret It

The whole family was sucking up to Chris.

Chris made a call, and the Ortiz Family general's secretary informed the General.

The General stepped in, and only then did Timothy, the director of the Five-State Business Alliance in Sunset City, bring Francis to apologize in person.

Now, Victor could have his birthday party at the Imperial Residence.

Victor was ecstatic.

He immediately held a press conference to announce the news.

Meanwhile, Harry was busy arranging the birthday party, making invitations, and sending them out.

Larry had been staying at Frank's Mortal Clinic when he saw the news about Victor's press conference.

Larry knew the issue had been resolved, and the Five-State Business Alliance had already apologized.

All problems were solved.

Larry headed back to the Lewis Family.

He rang the doorbell.

Harry's youngest daughter, Stella, who had moved to Neon City, opened the door.

Stella didn't know Larry well before, but now, she did.

As soon as she saw Larry, she crossed her arms and sneered, "You really have some nerve showing up here."

Oscar was about to run some errands. Seeing Larry, he immediately started cursing, "You bastard. Get lost."

Larry ignored them and walked straight towards the villa.

"Stop," Oscar shouted.

"I'm here to see Grandpa Victor," Larry said, not wanting to argue with them.

"You've been kicked out of the Lewis Family. You're not the son-in-law anymore, so you have no right to be here."

"Yeah, get lost."

They showed no respect for Larry at all.

Larry was puzzled. 'The Five-State Business Alliance apologized, didn't they? Shouldn't the Lewis Family be sucking up to me? Why are they still acting like this? What goes wrong?'

Larry couldn't figure it out.

At that moment, a Bentley pulled up.

Victor got out with a cane.

Harry and Chris were with him.

Victor had rushed back after the press conference to announce his 80th birthday party. "Chris, I really have to thank you this time. You made me proud."

Chris, looking smug, said, "Victor, it's just the Imperial Residence. We should keep a low profile."

"Yes, low profile."

Chris and Victor chatted as they walked.

Larry saw Victor and immediately walked over with a bright smile. "Grandpa, I wasn't lying. You really can have your party at the Imperial Residence. But why didn't you call me? I called my boss as soon as I got back. He made the Five-State Business Alliance apologize."

Oscar walked over and slapped Larry on the head, cursing, "You idiot. It's all because of you that we got beaten. Now that we know Chris stepped in and solved the issue, giving Victor the qualification to hold his party at the Imperial Residence, you're here to steal the credit?"

Victor was furious when he saw Larry. He raised his cane to hit him.

Larry dodged in time. Larry stood aside, looking at Chris next to Victor. "You stepped in to help?"

Chris stepped forward, adjusted his tie, and said, "I just made a call. The Ortiz Family's capabilities are beyond what a bastard like you can understand."

Stella walked over, holding Chris's arm, and looked at Larry with disdain. "My husband Chris is now the deputy captain of a special police unit in Neon City, and Chris's uncle Daniel is the secretary to the General of the Neon City military district. Such a trivial matter can be settled with a single call."

Larry's face darkened. His credit had been stolen again.

Larry looked at Victor. "Grandpa, do you believe Chris?"

Victor's face was stern as he scolded, "I shouldn't believe you rather than him."

At that moment, a business car drove up.

A tall, fair-skinned, and stunningly beautiful woman in professional attire stepped out of the car.

It was Chloe. After taking over the company, Chloe started auditing the finances and discovered some issues, so she came back to inquire.

As soon as she got out of the car, she saw Larry standing in front of the Lewis Family's mansion.

Chloe was slightly stunned, then walked over and called out, "Grandpa."

When Victor Chloe, his face softened a lot, and a smile appeared on his aged face. "Chloe, what brings you here?"

"Grandpa, I found some issues while organizing the company's finances, so I came back to ask about it."

"Come, let's talk inside."

Victor was nice to Chloe, but when he looked at Larry, his expression changed, and he angrily said, "You come in with me. Let's clear things up while Chloe is here."

Chloe glanced at Larry without saying much and turned to go inside.

Larry also walked into the villa without showing any emotion.

In the villa's living room, the Lewis Family members were all seated, only Larry was standing.

After Chloe learned the whole story, her face turned very ugly with anger. It was truly shameful.

Chloe couldn't believe that Larry, to avoid divorce, had lied to Victor, saying he could hold a birthday party at the Imperial Residence. Victor went there excitedly, only to get beaten up.

Now Chris had stepped in to solve the problem, but Larry claimed the credit. "Larry, you really disappoint me."

Larry stood aside, glanced at Chloe, and asked, "Chloe, do you not believe me either? You’ve been to the Imperial Residence."

"That's enough." Chloe stood up and scolded, "I won't believe you. I saw it with my own eyes, Sam saw it with his own eyes. It can't be fake."

"No, what I'm saying is..."

"Larry, can you stop being so shameless? It's bad enough that you tried to seduce my cousin Helen, you also embarrassed Victor, and now you want to hog someone else's credit. The Ortiz Family has connections in the military district. What about you? You have nothing, just a criminal who has been court-martialed."

Larry wanted to explain. He wanted to tell Chloe that he didn't lie to Victor. He wanted to ask, "Didn't you go to the Imperial Residence? Didn't you stay there for ten days? How can you not believe me?"

But Chloe didn't give Larry a chance to explain.

Victor, smoking a cigarette, said, "Larry, you've been in the Lewis Family for a while now. With Chloe's current status, you're not worthy of her. How about I give you $100,000 to divorce Chloe. From now on, you have nothing to do with the Lewis Family."

Even though it was because of Larry that Victor got beaten up.

But with Chris, this grandson-in-law, stepping in to solve the problem, now Victor could even hold his birthday party at the Imperial Residence.

Victor was in a good mood and didn't want to argue with Larry. He was also willing to give some money to make Larry leave Chloe.

"Larry, hurry up and thank Victor for his generosity."

"Do you know what $100,000 means? Even if you served in the military your whole life, you wouldn't earn so much."

"Thank Victor."

The Lewis Family members kept mocking Larry.

Larry saw Chloe's stern face, full of anger.

Chloe was already dissatisfied, and now hearing Victor say these things made her even angrier.

Larry was helpless. He had overcome all kinds of difficulties, but he couldn't get past this hurdle of love.

Larry knew that no matter what he said now, Chloe wouldn't believe him. Since that was the case, what else to explain?

Larry looked at Victor. "Victor, you will regret this."

Then, he looked at Chris. "Neon City military district, the General's secretary? I've remembered that. Tomorrow, your uncle Daniel will be out of a job."

"That's hilarious," Oscar laughed out loud, "Out of a job? Do you know what rank the General's secretary holds? Do you really think you're the Free King?"

Chris's face was filled with anger. "Larry, don't be too arrogant."

Seeing Chris mad, Victor angrily said, "Get out."

Larry turned and left.
