Chapter 212 Larry's Domineering Nature
Justin hit the ground with a thud, the sound echoing off the stage.
Everyone's jaws dropped as they watched the chaos unfold.
"Larry!" A cold voice cut through the noise.
Timothy, all suited up and fuming, stormed over, eyes locked on Larry.
Larry just glanced at him, grabbed Chloe, and started to walk away with a dismissive snort.
"Stop him!" Justin yelled.
In no time, a swarm of security guards and a few cops surrounded them, blocking Larry's path.
"You think you can stop me?" Larry's face darkened.
"Loser, let go of Chloe," Maria snapped as she approached. "Haven't you made a big enough fool of yourself? Get lost."
Larry didn't even acknowledge her.
Seeing the crowd of guards and cops, Chloe looked worried. She clung to Larry's hand and whispered, "Larry, you should go. You can't take on their power and influence."
Larry looked at her and said, "Leave my wife behind and go? No way."
Chloe's throat tightened. She hadn't expected things to get this bad.
Timothy stepped closer, his voice icy. "Larry, you're not who you used to be."
"Yeah, no kidding," Larry shot back. "I'm not the same Larry, but that doesn't mean anyone can push me around. Justin and the Carter Family are asking for it."
Larry marched towards the stage, where Justin was still sprawled out.
With all the Sunset City big shots watching, Larry grabbed Justin by the collar and yanked him up.
"No one messes with my wife or the Lewis Family. You mess with us, you pay the price."
He kicked Justin's knee, making him scream in pain. Another kick shattered Justin's other knee. Then, Larry twisted Justin's wrist until it snapped and tossed him aside like trash.
"It hurts so much. Dad, kill him!" Justin wailed from the ground.
The room went dead silent, except for Justin's cries.
Everyone was in shock. Larry had the guts to cripple Justin right in front of the Carter Family?
The cops had their guns drawn, a dozen barrels aimed at Larry.
Chloe's face went pale with fear, while Timothy looked like he was about to explode.
Abigail on the stage was also stunned.
"This is what you get.," Larry's voice boomed through the hall.
"From today on, anyone who messes with Chloe will regret it. Anyone who targets the Lewis Family will be destroyed." Larry's tone was ice-cold and commanding.
"Arrest him," Timothy barked, shaking with rage.
A former employee, no longer one of the Five Great Marshals, how dare he act so cocky?
The cops started to move in.
Larry stomped hard, and the stage shook, then collapsed.
The cops froze, stunned by the display of power.
While they were still in shock, Larry stepped off the stage, walked up to Timothy, and jabbed him with a silver needle a few times.
Timothy crumpled to the ground, powerless and speechless.
"Timothy, if you want to live, go to the Lewis Family and apologize. Otherwise, you won't last three days."
With that, Larry grabbed Chloe and walked away, everyone’s eyes glued to them.
No one dared to stop him.
Justin was sprawled on the collapsed stage like a dead dog.
Timothy was on the ground too, veins popping on his face, looking like he was in a world of pain. He couldn’t even speak.
What was supposed to be a grand engagement party turned into a total mess thanks to Larry.
The big shots in Sunset City were scratching their heads.
How could Larry, this so-called useless son-in-law, have the guts to take on the Carter Family in their own crib? Wasn’t he scared of their revenge?
The Carter Family was the top dog in the Five-State Business Alliance in Sunset City. Crushing the Lewis Family would be a piece of cake for them.
But a few folks who knew Larry’s real deal had a different take.
Even though he’d quit and wasn’t the Black Dragon anymore, and even though a lot of big shots wanted him dead.
He wasn’t dead yet.
A living Black Dragon, even if he wasn’t one of the Five Great Marshals anymore, was still not someone you’d want to mess with. They wouldn’t dare to cross him lightly.
The Carter Family, though, was asking for trouble.
Chloe, in her white wedding gown, looked like a noble swan outside the villa.
Tears welled up in her eyes, and she cried, "Larry, I'm sorry. I've let you down. I don’t want to drag the Lewis Family into this mess. From now on, we’re done."
She was touched by everything Larry had done for her.
But Larry had pissed off the Carter Family.
She couldn’t leave with Larry; she had to apologize.
Otherwise, the Lewis Family would face the Carter Family’s brutal revenge.
A billion-dollar family’s wrath was something the Lewis Family couldn’t handle.
"Do you really think I'm scared of the Carter Family?"
Larry looked at Chloe, seeing the tears in her eyes. He couldn’t stand it either. He reached out to wipe her tears, cupped her face, and said, "Chloe, I really don’t care about the Carter Family."
Before he could finish, members of the Lewis Family rushed out.
Victor, leaning on a cane, scolded, "You piece of trash, you're ruining the Lewis Family."
Maria had a pleading look on her face, "Larry, I beg you, let Chloe go. You and she are not meant to be."
Sam was also furious, cursing, "Larry, you useless piece of trash, get out of here."
Then, looking at Chloe, Sam pleaded, "Chloe, you can’t leave. If you go, I’ll be killed and the Lewis Family is done for."
Chloe knew all this.
Once they left the villa, the Lewis Family would face the Carter’s wrath.
She looked at Larry, her eyes filled with tears.
"Larry, I'm sorry. I can’t leave with you. Forget about me." With that, she cried and ran back to the villa.
Inside the villa, many of Sunset City's elites were gathered in the hall.
Chloe returned once again.
Justin had already been pulled out of the collapsed stage by security. His limbs were broken, and his face was filled with pain.
Chloe knelt on the ground, crying, "Mr. Carter, please give me a chance. I will divorce Larry completely."
He weakly raised his hand and pointed at Chloe in great pain.
"Chloe, all of you are finished."
Larry followed her in. Seeing this scene, he frowned.
It seemed that unless the Carter Family was taken down, Chloe wouldn’t leave with him.
