Chapter 20 Equity Transfer Agreement
The Lewis Family.
Victor saw Harry and his family return, but Chloe was nowhere to be seen.
His face immediately darkened, and he angrily shouted, "Where's Chloe? Why didn't you bring her back?"
Julia quickly walked over and supported Victor, "Grandpa, don't be angry. Let me explain first. Chloe went too far. She made our whole family kneel. We all knelt to her, but she still wouldn't come back. She even demanded you give Scott ten percent of the company's shares, saying you were biased because everyone in the Lewis Family has shares except their family."
Victor's face turned grim with anger.
Julia promptly added, "Grandpa, it's not me scolding you; these are Chloe's exact words."
"She really made me angry," Victor said.
Victor was so furious that he was gasping for breath, cursing, "Just because she has some connection with Leo, she thinks she can do whatever she wants, not even respecting me as the head of the family."
Oscar exaggerated the story of how they went to fetch Chloe, describing how they knelt and begged her, how Chloe insulted them, and how she cursed Victor.
On the way back, the family had already discussed their plan.
Chloe's return was inevitable.
Once Chloe returned, she would surely take control. They did not want to see that happened.
However, if Chloe didn't come back, the Lewis Family would suffer significant losses.
They decided to badmouth Chloe in front of Victor first.
Chloe's previous mistakes had almost led to the downfall of the Lewis Family, and with this incident, even if Chloe returned, she couldn't possibly take control.
Victor was so enraged by these words that he almost fainted.
Leaning on the sofa, gasping for breath, he pointed his cane at the silent Harry and furiously said, "Give Chloe the ten percent shares she wants. As long as she can come back, give them to her. Have her call Leo of the Legion Lord immediately."
Although Victor was old, he wasn't senile.
Only with Chloe's return could the Lewis Family continue to cooperate with the Legion Lord, and the Lewis Family's business could reach new heights.
Mortal Clinic.
Chloe looked at Larry with a puzzled expression, "Larry, why is Leo so good to me? I don't even know him. He personally took me to the Legion Lord, and now that I've been expelled from the family, he terminated the cooperation with the Lewis Family for my sake. Be honest with me, is it because of you?"
Larry knew he couldn't hide it for long, so he smiled and said, "Yes, it's because of me."
"I knew it. So it's really because of you," Chloe said, suddenly realizing.
Larry explained, "I'm an orphan. I served in the military for a few years and have some skills. I once saved Leo's life, so he owes me a favor. The cooperation between the Legion Lord and the Everjoy Company, and today's incident, are all Leo repaying that favor. Now the favor is repaid."
"Thank you," Chloe said.
Larry held Chloe's hand, "We're family; no need to thank me."
"By the way, how do you know medicine?" Chloe looked at Larry, finding him very mysterious.
Larry smiled and explained, "Sunset City is known as Pharma City, gathering famous doctors from all over. I grew up in an orphanage, and the director was an old doctor. I learned a bit from him."
"Just a bit?" Chloe gave him a sidelong glance.
She was aware of the severity of her injuries. Her entire face was disfigured, and even the most advanced cosmetic surgery would have difficulty restoring it. Yet, Larry healed her in ten days.
Although her face, which was scratched a few days ago, was still bandaged, she could feel it healing slowly.
"Really, just a little. The one who truly saved you is him. He's a hidden master of medicine," Larry said, pointing to Frank, who was sitting and smoking nearby.
Frank immediately stood up, awkwardly smiling, "Chloe, hello, I'm Frank. I grew up in the orphanage with Mr. Bennett. After he joined the military, I went to study medicine."
Chloe didn't doubt them and believed their words.
However, she was still a bit worried that she was asking for too many shares.
The Lewis Family's main business was the Everjoy Company, but besides the Everjoy Company, they also had various other enterprises, including restaurants and hotels.
All their assets combined were worth several hundred million dollars.
Ten percent was not a small amount, and she worried that Victor wouldn't give it.
All she could do now was wait.
Soon, Harry arrived at the Mortal Clinic again.
This time he came alone, bringing the company's share transfer agreement.
"Chloe, this is the transfer agreement personally signed by Victor. As long as Scott signs it, he will own ten percent of the family business. Now that you have the share transfer agreement, shouldn't you call Leo and ask him not to cancel the cooperation with the Everjoy Company?"
Chloe took the contract Harry handed over and carefully examined it.
Seeing that it was indeed a share transfer contract, she smiled with joy and exclaimed, "Larry, my grandpa really gave it to me. Tha's good news to my dad."
"Chloe, make the call quickly. Right now, dozens of trucks are at the Everjoy Company loading raw materials. Once this matter is resolved, we can celebrate later." Harry urged.
Chloe looked at Larry.
Larry nodded and said, "Go ahead; make the call."
"Can I really do it?" Chloe was unsure, as the favor was owed to Larry, not her.
Larry reassured her. "You can do it, make the call."
Chloe then took out her phone and explained the situation to Leo. Without any hesitation, Leo agreed to continue the cooperation with the Everjoy Company.
Harry, listening on the side, finally sighed in relief.
Although they had given away ten percent of the shares, as long as they continued to cooperate with the Legion Lord, the Lewis Family's business would grow, and their funds would increase.
"Chloe, it's your grandpa's 80th birthday banquet after ten days. Remember to come. I'll head back now," Harry said before driving away.
"Larry, let's go home quickly and tell my dad the good news," Chloe said, pulling Larry along.
Seeing Chloe so happy, Larry felt truly satisfied.
He went home with Chloe.
Her father's house was tightly closed.
Chloe, holding the contract, felt very nervous and gently knocked on the door.
Soon, the door opened.
The person who opened the door was a woman in her twenties, wearing a thin dress and flip-flops. She was beautiful; this was Sam's wife, Mindy Rodriguez.
Mindy's face showed a trace of disgust as she said, "You don't need to come back. Mom and Dad don't want to see you. Get lost."
With that, she slammed the door shut.
From inside, Sam's voice came. "Mindy, who is it?"
Mindy replied, "Chloe."
Sam immediately knew Chloe had come back again. He opened the door, saw Chloe standing outside with a contract in her arms and tears in her eyes, and pulled her inside, saying, "Chloe, come in quickly. Mom and Dad are out."
Mindy quickly stepped in front of Sam, coldly saying, "Sam, what are you doing? If Mom finds out you let Chloe in, you can never get money for a new car."
Sam had come home partly because the Lewis Family was in trouble and he wanted to be with his parents.
The other reason was that he had learned Maria had an extra fifty thousand dollars. He wanted to buy a better car and had been asking Maria for the money.
That money was the breakup fee those rich kids had given Larry to leave Chloe when he went to pick her up from work.
"You don't need to come back."
At that moment, a middle-aged woman walked over, holding a golden retriever.
She was Maria. Seeing Chloe, she looked disgusted.
"Mom."
"Don't call me that. I don't have a daughter like you," Maria said.
Chloe's eyes filled with tears, but instead of crying, she handed over the contract.
She said, "Grandpa has agreed to let me come home and even gave me a share transfer contract. As long as it's signed, we will own ten percent of the Lewis Family's shares. I brought it back specifically for Dad."
