Chapter 405 Undying Warrior
Larry stared at Alden, waiting for him to spill the beans.
Alden took a deep breath and said, "You won't believe what they're cooking up in that lab."
Larry's curiosity was piqued. "What is it?"
Alden replied, "You know about Gu, right? It's the deadliest poison out there. Each type of Gu takes years, sometimes decades, even centuries to cultivate. Every Gu is highly toxic and carries a bunch of unknown viruses. The Gu itself isn't the scariest part; it's the viruses it carries."
"What are you getting at?"
Alden's expression turned serious. "They're researching viruses in that lab."
"Viruses?" Larry was stunned.
"Have you heard of the Immortal Warriors?" Alden asked.
Larry shook his head. "Nope, never heard of them."
Alden explained, "They use viruses to mess with human cell structures, making people super strong, numb to pain, and turning them into mindless killing machines that only follow orders."
Alden's face grew even more serious as he continued, "The Southwild Eight Heavenly Dragons approached me, and I started planning. I infiltrated the lab and discovered their project. It's a terrifying virus. An ordinary person who takes it will become a formidable fighter in just a few days, and they won't fear death."
Larry's expression also turned grave.
He hadn't expected Alistair to be secretly researching something so dangerous.
He couldn't help but ask, "How strong are they?"
Alden shook his head slightly. "I'm not sure, but they shouldn't be weaker than SSS-level assassins. They might be just a step away from Martial Masters."
"Do you have any research data?" Larry asked.
Alden handed Larry a USB drive. "The Eight Heavenly Dragons stole this. I got it this morning and brought it to you. I haven't looked at the data myself, so I don't know what's in it."
Larry took the USB drive.
Alden warned, "Alistair is incredibly powerful and has secretly recruited many experts. Countless people are willing to die for him. The fact that we managed to steal the data without being noticed is a flaw in his management. Now that the research data has been stolen, it's definitely leaked. The Eight Heavenly Dragons will need to lie low, maybe even leave the country to avoid trouble. The Shadow Syndicate will also act discreetly. You need to be careful; he might suspect you're behind this."
Larry nodded. "Got it. Thanks for the heads-up."
Alden continued, "The Immortal Warriors might already exist. If Alistair starts searching for the data, he'll definitely deploy them. Be careful if you encounter them."
Larry smiled faintly. "Don't worry. I'm not the same as I was before."
Alden glanced at Larry.
Seeing the confidence on Larry's face, he could guess that Larry had already mastered Qi.
Alden was envious of the method to cultivate Qi.
The main reason he agreed to cooperate with Larry was that Larry had the method to cultivate Qi.
Alden's martial arts skills were already at their peak, and he was just a step away from cultivating Qi.
He rubbed his hands together, smiling, and asked, "What about the promise you made to me?"
Larry waved his hand slightly. "I'm still in the research phase. Don't rush. Once I fully understand it, I'll teach you. That way, you won't have to take any detours, right?"
"Alright." Alden looked resigned.
He knew Larry's intentions.
Larry was wary of teaching Alden the method to cultivate Qi, fearing that once Alden mastered it, he might turn against him.
"Alright, you can go now. I need to head out, too." Larry stepped out of the car.
Alden drove off.
Nearby, a young girl stood with a wheelchair.
Trinity pushed the wheelchair over, smiling softly, her dimples showing.
"Larry, are you done talking? Ready to head back?"
"Yeah, let's go." Larry nodded and sat in the wheelchair.
Trinity pushed him away.
Larry sat in the wheelchair, staring at the USB drive in his hand, lost in thought.
Immortal Warriors?
His expression grew serious.
Using viruses to alter human structures wasn't that hard.
He had once used drugs to train, making his body so strong that ordinary knives couldn't cut him.
Viruses were scarier than drugs.
He had experienced the terror of viruses firsthand.
Soon, they arrived at the Lewis family home.
Inside the Lewis Villa.
Maria was playing poker with a few wealthy women.
Seeing Larry come in, she ordered, "Larry, go buy groceries and cook. We're having lunch at home."
"Mrs. Lewis, this was once the Black Dragon. You dare to order him to buy groceries and cook?" one of the wealthy women asked, slightly surprised.
"What's the big deal?" Maria laughed. "Even when he was the Black Dragon, he had to obey me in the Lewis family."
"Impressive."
"Having a son-in-law like him is quite a status symbol."
The other two women praised.
Maria, however, looked disdainful. "He's no longer the Black Dragon, and he's sick now."
Larry ignored them and stood up from the wheelchair.
Trinity immediately went to support him.
"Larry, what are you doing? Didn't you hear me talking to you?"
Larry stopped, turned, and looked at Maria, who was standing up angrily. He said calmly, "If you want to eat, cook it yourself."
"Larry, I'll go buy groceries and cook. Let me help you upstairs to rest first," Trinity said promptly.
Larry waved his hand slightly. "No need. Let's go. Help me upstairs to rest."
Larry went upstairs, and Maria's face turned livid with anger. She shouted, "Larry, don't think that with Chloe's protection, you can stay in the Lewis family peacefully. I'm telling you, getting back together with Chloe is absolutely impossible."
Larry ignored her.
Upstairs, in the room.
Larry turned on the computer and plugged in the USB drive.
It contained some research data, but he wasn't a scientist and couldn't understand the information.
Larry removed the USB drive and put it away, then sat down, deep in thought.
Trinity wisely didn't disturb him.
After a while, Larry instructed, "Trinity, go to the military district."
"Okay." Trinity nodded. "Are you going to see Free? What do you need him for?"
Larry instructed, "Ask him to check how many research labs Alistair has in the country. If possible, also check if there are any abroad. After seeing Free, go find Matthew and have him use the underground intelligence network to investigate."
"Okay. Anything else?"
"No, that's all. Go ahead." Larry waved his hand slightly.
"Got it." Trinity turned and left.
She had been acting as a liaison recently.
Because Alistair was very powerful, Larry didn't dare to make phone calls. With Alistair's abilities, it would be easy for him to monitor Larry's calls and obtain his conversation content.
