Chapter 170 Symbol of Faith
Chloe felt a lack of passion between them, so she started to tease Larry. She didn't realize how terrifyingly powerful her words could be.
Larry, who was formidable on the battlefield, was conquered by just one sentence from her.
Larry gulped. "I think it's great."
Chloe blushed and said, "Hurry up and pick me up."
Larry snapped out of it and quickly picked up Chloe. He walked out of the bedroom and to the bed, placing her down.
Chloe immediately pulled up the sheets to cover her body. She blushed and smiled slightly at Larry. "It's late, let's sleep."
"Okay," Larry responded and got into bed.
Chloe turned away from him, ignoring Larry. She had ignited his desire but didn't have sex with him. He felt uncomfortable all over but endured it.
The next day, Larry woke up very early. Chloe was still asleep.
Larry went to the living room of the presidential suite, took out his phone, and called Howard, asking him to arrange for Neil to deliver some special military cigarettes and alcohol to the Martin residence at noon.
After the call, he sat on the sofa. Bored, he started scrolling through his phone. Before long, Chloe came out. She was already dressed. But her hair was messy, and she still looked a bit sleepy, looking very cute and charming.
"Honey." Chloe rubbed her temples and sat down on the sofa.
Larry said, "Honey, it's still early, go back to sleep for a while."
Chloe shook her head, took out her phone, and opened the text messages, looking at the bank notification from last night.
Larry turned away, saw the balance in the account, pretended to be surprised, and exclaimed, "Honey, there's really two billion dollars. We're rich. This time we're really rich. When we get back to Sunset City, let's buy a villa, okay?"
Chloe glanced at Larry and rolled her eyes. "Wishful thinking. I'm going to use this money to start a business and expand the Everlasting Group. With the money, the Everlasting Group can develop rapidly."
She then added, "Honey."
"What?"
"Aren't you curious why the Martinez family gave me money?"
Larry smiled and said, "It must be the mysterious Mr. Bennett. He gave you so many gifts; he must have found out that Ewan made you drink and got angry, then made Caius come and apologize."
"If you know, why aren't you angry?"
Larry laughed, "Why would I be angry? Even these big shots like my wife, which means my wife is excellent. I'm lucky to have married you, and I'm very happy. Why would I be angry?"
Chloe pouted. "If you don't become more ambitious, I'll leave you and go find the mysterious Mr. Bennett."
"Honey, don't, I'm very ambitious. I've even found a job. Oh, I haven't told you where I work yet." Larry took out his business manager ID from the Epoch Group and said, "Look, I work at the Epoch Group, and I'm a business manager."
Chloe rolled her eyes. She knew well enough what a business manager meant. However, getting a job at the Epoch Group was already quite good. "The Epoch Group is a real big corporation; you have to work hard."
"Yes, you're right, honey. I'll work hard. Honey, please don't kick me out, okay?"
Chloe pouted. "That depends on your performance. I'm going to do my makeup." She got up and went to the bathroom.
Larry leaned back on the sofa and lit a cigarette, thinking his life was great.
Soon, Chloe finished her makeup.
The two of them checked out and headed to the Martin residence. When they arrived, it was already past 9 AM.
Today was Mrs. Martin's birthday, and the Martin family was a big family. Only the closest relatives of the Martin family had arrived yesterday. Today, everyone had arrived.
The Martin residence was bustling with activity.
When Larry and Chloe returned, they immediately became the focus of many people's attention, with everyone whispering about how Maria had finally become rich.
Maria came over and immediately started scolding, "Larry, what were you doing keeping Chloe out all night?"
Chloe quickly explained, "Mom, it's not Larry's fault. I had a bit to drink last night, so we got a room and slept outside."
"Maria, last night, I took Chloe out for dinner," Cassian stepped forward and said with a smile, "Chloe had a few too many drinks, so don't blame her."
Maria's expression softened a bit.
At that moment, a police car drove up and stopped at the gate of the estate.
"Cormac is here." Everyone stood up to greet him.
Cormac Martin, a man in his mid-twenties and dressed in uniform, got out of the car and greeted everyone.
Chloe stood next to Larry and whispered, "This is Cormac Martin. He's the captain of the SWAT team and wields a lot of power. He's also the pride of the Martin family."
Larry nodded slightly. Being so young and already a SWAT team captain was quite impressive.
Chloe continued, "Grandpa was also a soldier. I've heard Mom say that he knows a lot of high-ranking officials."
"Very impressive," Larry responded nonchalantly.
Cormac, surrounded by the crowd, walked into the courtyard and sat down. A group of people gathered around him. Rowan and Solene also sat beside him. He was truly the pride of the Martin family.
Rowan asked, "Cormac, how's work going lately?"
Cormac replied, "Grandpa, it's going well, and I have some good news to share."
Rowan became interested and asked, "What good news?"
Everyone's eyes were on Cormac.
Cormac said, "Grandpa, did you know that Free is forming a super special operations unit? They are selecting 10,000 people from millions of soldiers and SWAT officers nationwide for a three-month intensive training. Those who pass the final assessment will become members of the special operations unit. And guess who the chief instructor will be?"
Rowan asked, "Who? Are you saying Free himself will be training you?"
Solene, upon hearing this, couldn't stop smiling. "Cormac, you're amazing for getting to meet Free."
Cormac shook his head and said, "It's not Free. It's Black Dragon, the Supreme Commander of Southwild, who became a marshal just over a year ago."
Speaking of Black Dragon, Cormac couldn't help but tremble with excitement. "He's the symbol of faith for all soldiers, but no one knows what Black Dragon looks like. Free said that anyone who gets selected for the special operations unit will get to meet him."
Both Rowan and Solene had been soldiers. Although they were retired now, they certainly knew who Black Dragon was.
Most of the Martin family members were military enthusiasts, and they all knew the legend of Black Dragon.
"Cormac, will you really get to meet Marshal Black Dragon?"
"He's the guardian war god of the Summer Nation. Without Black Dragon, Southwild would have fallen long ago."

The young people of the Martin family were very envious.
