Chapter 217 Free Aftermath

At noon, Justin got his knees busted and his hands all twisted up. He'd just had surgery, and now Larry had tossed him from the second floor.

His whole body was a mess, pain off the charts.

He was lying in a big ol' pool of his own blood, barely able to move.

Right then, Justin felt the cold grip of death.

His teeth were chattering as he whimpered, "Please, don't kill me. Give me a chance. I got money, I'll give you money."

He was scared out of his mind. Never in his life had he been this terrified. Death was staring him in the face.

"Get me to a hospital, quick."

Justin knew if he didn't get to a hospital soon, he was a goner.

Larry sat on the steps, looking at Timothy with a cold stare, "Justin's a fool, and you're just as dumb? Your brain's not working right in your fifties. I might've quit, but I was one of the Five Great Marshals. Even if I'm out, you think you can mess with me?"

Timothy tried to talk, but his whole body was in agony. As soon as he opened his mouth, his teeth started chattering.

Next to him was Sam.

Sam had been through hell and back. He should've been dead, but Larry used some silver needles to keep him hanging on.

Right now, he was conscious, hearing every word Larry said. His heart was pounding. 'Larry is Black Dragon? No way.' he wondered.

'This loser who married into the Lewis Family could be Black Dragon, the head of The Serpent Group? He was supposed to be dead in Southwild Cedar Grove, even the Southwild General confirmed it.. This can't be right.'

Sam couldn't believe Larry was Black Dragon.

He couldn't believe this guy, who worked his butt off for the Lewis Family, was Black Dragon.

But he didn't have time to think much. His head was spinning, and thinking about it made it worse.

"I won't let anyone mess with Chloe."

Larry got up and walked over to Justin, who was lying in the blood, and stomped on his crotch.

Justin's eyes went wide, his face twisted in pain, and he let out a scream.

Then, Justin passed out. Timothy's face went pale seeing this.

Justin was his only son, not even married or with kids yet, and now he was crippled.

"And you." Larry walked over to Timothy and said coldly, "You said you wouldn't go after the Lewis Family, so I let you live. But you broke your promise. You think I'm easy to mess with?"

Larry lifted his foot and stomped on Timothy's chest.

Timothy screamed. Then his head slumped, and he was dead.

Larry walked step by step towards Alexander.

Alexander had been thrown from the second floor by Larry, breaking his leg. He was on the ground, unable to get up. He saw what was happening and was shaking with fear. He regretted everything.

If he'd known Larry, who married into the Lewis Family, was Black Dragon, he would've never messed with Chloe, never set up Sam.

"Black Dragon, Commander, please spare me. I was wrong. I'll do whatever you say." Alexander kept begging for mercy.

"Alexander, we had no beef, so why'd you mess with the Lewis Family?"

Larry stood over him, looking down. He lifted his foot and kicked.

Alexander, who could've been a big shot in Neon City, died just like that.

Timothy and Alexander were dead. The whole villa, over a hundred guys, all dead. Only Justin was still alive.

But even alive, he was done for.

With his limbs busted, even if he didn't die, Justin would spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair.

Free got Larry's call and sent in a helicopter.

Soon, a bunch of helicopters showed up and landed at the estate.

Free, decked out in battle gear, appeared.

He saw the mess in front of the estate—Timothy, Alexander, and Justin all lying in their own blood. He walked over, frowning, and asked, "What went down this time?"

"Nothing major," Larry pointed at Alexander on the ground and said, "This guy's got a rap sheet a mile long. Dig into it and wipe out all his goons. As for Timothy, say he was in bed with some gang members, got arrested, and was taken out by the military."

Then he glanced at Justin, who was barely hanging on.

"Get Justin to the hospital. Whether he makes it or not, that's on him." Larry didn't finish Justin off.

The Carter Family was part of the Five-State Business Alliance. Leaving Justin alive was a warning to them; otherwise, they'd be a pain in the neck later.

Free felt kinda helpless. He thought Larry had mellowed out, but nope, still as ruthless as ever. So many bodies, all thanks to him.

He wisely kept his mouth shut.

Even though Larry was brutal, he never hurt regular folks. The people he took out were the ones who had it coming. They dodged the law but couldn't dodge Larry's justice.

Plus, Larry used to be the commander of Southwild. When he got the gig, the top dog of Summer Nation gave him special privileges.

Larry waved to a soldier, pointed at Sam, who was lying there with his eyes wide open, and said, "Get him to the hospital. Free, I'm gonna need your chopper."

Free nodded and ordered, "Move it, get him to the hospital."

"Yes, sir." A bunch of soldiers rushed over and loaded Sam onto the helicopter.

Free pulled out a cigarette and handed one to Larry.

The two of them sat on the steps of Willow Creek Lodge.

"Larry, look, I helped you clean up another mess. Can you tell me what you said to the bigwigs in Aurora Citadel last time? Why'd you suddenly quit?"

Free had been chewing on this question for a while but couldn't crack it.

Larry took a drag, staring at the pitch-black sky, and murmured, "Summer Nation's a mess. The government's got all these shady characters, and a lot of folks with bad intentions. They just fear the power of the Five Great Marshals and don't dare to show their true colors. I'm just the start."

Free was puzzled, not quite getting what Larry meant.

Larry stood up, patted his shoulder, and said, "Soon, someone's gonna come to you. Make sure you pick the right side."

With that, Larry turned and walked away.

Free sat on the steps, smoking, and looked up at the dark sky.

He was a simple guy, not into all that political stuff.

But Larry had made it pretty clear, and he could piece together some of it.

"Things are about to get real." Free sighed.

Meanwhile, Sam had been rushed to the hospital. Larry saved his life, and after getting to the hospital, he was quickly stabilized.

Larry then headed to Mortal Clinic.

Chloe had already changed into a fresh set of clothes from Amelia.

The two of them sat in the room, just staring at each other.

Amelia had known about Chloe for a while but never got the chance to meet her. Now she finally did, and yeah, she deserved the title of the most beautiful woman in Sunset City.

Chloe, on the other hand, was frowning, wondering who this woman was and why she was with Larry.

The TV in the clinic was on, broadcasting the news.

Right then, a news bulletin cut in.

"Good evening, folks. We've got breaking news. Tonight, the military got a tip about a criminal gang gathering illegally at an estate in the suburbs. The military took action against this gang. Among them were members of the Carter Family. During the operation, Timothy Carter resisted arrest and was killed on the spot by the military."

As the news played, Free showed up on the screen.

A reporter was interviewing him.

Free stood in front of Willow Creek Lodge, speaking loudly to the media, "Sunset City won't tolerate any crime. Once we find it, we'll crush it."

Seeing the news, Chloe was stunned.
