Chapter 472 Chloe's News

Larry turned around but didn't sense any danger.

Confused, he muttered to himself, "What's going on? Why do I suddenly feel this sense of dread?"

He thought maybe he had drunk too much, shook his head, and kept walking.

But it wasn't long before that unsettling feeling returned.

It was like being watched by a venomous snake, making him feel uneasy. This time, he didn't ignore it and kept walking, then suddenly turned around.

In that instant, he saw a crowd of people behind him.

Among them was a man in a black jacket and hat, around fifty years old, with an ordinary appearance that you'd forget after a glance.

Yet, Larry sensed a dangerous aura emanating from him.

It was like a snake ready to strike at any moment.

Their eyes met.

The man in the black jacket smirked slightly.

Then he turned and walked away.

Larry quickly followed him.

He chased the man into a deserted alley.

Larry sped up, taking a few strides to catch up, and reached for the man's shoulder.

The man dodged effortlessly, avoiding Larry's grasp.

His movements were strange, and before Larry knew it, the man was behind him, pressing a knife to his lower back.

Larry was shocked.

He was on the verge of becoming a second-level fighter, yet he couldn't see the man's movements clearly.

How powerful was this guy?

"Who are you? Why are you following me?" Larry asked coldly, not daring to make any sudden moves.

He felt the knife being removed from his back.

He turned around.

He saw the man's back.

The man tossed an envelope to him.

Larry caught it perfectly.

"Who are you?" Larry shouted.

But the man didn't respond and quickly disappeared around the corner.

Larry looked at the envelope, which had no writing on it. He opened it.

Inside was a photo of Chloe.

On the back of the photo was an address.

"If you want her to live, be at Mount Aragon within three days."

Larry looked at the address, his expression serious.

Mount Aragon was a mountain in Summer Nation.

From what he knew, it was a volcano, with no one living within hundreds of miles. It was a desolate place.

Who was this person?

Could it be that Richard had taken Chloe to Mount Aragon?

Larry took a deep breath, grabbed the envelope, and headed back to the villa.

In the villa's living room.

Larry handed the envelope from the stranger to Paisley.

Paisley opened it, saw Chloe's photo, and read the message on the back.

She frowned and asked, "What's going on?"

Larry shook his head. "I don't know. A stranger gave it to me. He's incredibly strong. If he wanted to kill me, I'd be dead already. But he didn't kill me; he gave me this envelope."

Paisley looked puzzled. "Mount Aragon is a volcano. Who would want you to go there, and what do they want?"

Larry shook his head.

He couldn't figure it out either.

"Should I go?" Larry asked Paisley, feeling lost and unsure of what to do.

"Of course, you should go."

Paisley said, "You mentioned the person who gave you this is very strong. Since he didn't kill you and gave you information, he must have a purpose. To find out what it is, you need to go. I'll go with you."

Paisley wasn't worried about Larry's safety.

She believed Larry wouldn't be in danger at Mount Aragon.

If there was any danger, it would have happened today. The enemy wouldn't need to lure him to Mount Aragon to make a move.

Larry nodded. "The photo says a lot. I have to go check it out."

"I'll book your tickets right away," Esmeralda said, pulling out her phone to make the arrangements.

While she did that, Larry and Paisley examined the photo, trying to piece together who might have sent it. Despite their efforts, they couldn't figure it out.

Soon, Larry and Paisley left Esmeralda's house and headed to the airport.

Before leaving, Paisley reminded Esmeralda to keep practicing the Qi cultivation method. Even if she couldn't cultivate Qi quickly, Larry had absorbed the cold energy from her body, so she wouldn't be in danger for at least half a month.

After giving her instructions, they left.

At the airport, Larry and Paisley boarded the plane.

Mount Aragon was near the northwest border of Summer Nation.

That day, Larry and Paisley arrived in Harrison City, a city in the northwest of Summer Nation.

They walked out of the airport side by side.

Paisley said, "Larry, Mount Aragon is over three hundred miles away. I checked the map; the road only goes about a hundred miles. We'll have to walk the rest of the way."

"Okay," Larry nodded. "The person gave us three days. We should be able to make it. But I still don't understand who took Chloe there and why they want me to go."

Paisley shrugged. "I don't know either. Let's rent a car first."

"Alright."

Larry nodded.

They rented an SUV from a car rental company in Harrison City, grabbed a quick bite, bought some supplies, and left Harrison City, heading for Mount Aragon.

The SUV drove along the desolate road.

The sky gradually darkened.

"Larry, we're near Mount Aragon. The road ends ahead; we'll have to walk," Paisley said, braking the car to a stop.

Larry, who had been resting in the passenger seat, opened his eyes and saw rocks blocking the road ahead. He nodded, "Alright, let's get out of here."

He opened the door and got out.

Paisley turned off the engine and got out, too.

They grabbed some food and supplies and started walking towards Mount Aragon.

Meanwhile.

At the summit of Mount Aragon.

It was a volcano.

Chloe sat cross-legged on a rock, raising her hands. A powerful force gathered in her palms, and she struck out.

The force hit the ground, creating a small crater and kicking up dust.

Nearby stood an old man.

It was Richard.

Richard smiled. "Not bad."

Chloe retracted her energy, smiling. "Richard, if it weren't for you catching the fire snake at the volcano and giving me its powerful gallbladder, and helping me refine it with Qi, I wouldn't have become this strong in just a few days."

"Luck," Richard smiled. "I didn't expect to find a hundred-year-old fire snake here. It was terrifying; even I almost fell victim to it."

"Richard, what level am I now?" Chloe asked, curious.

Although Richard had taught her a lot, including martial arts, she didn't know her current level.

Richard thought for a moment. "In terms of Qi strength, you're barely at level three. But you have no martial arts foundation. Even someone without Qi but with strong combat experience could defeat you."

"Chloe, remember, Qi is secondary. Your own skills are crucial. With Qi, you must learn to use it and fully unleash its power."

"Yes, Richard, I understand."
