Chapter 47 Free King Arrives
Larry heard the sound of sirens. He knew the police had arrived.
He didn't want to make this a public spectacle. Because Chloe was just an ordinary woman who had already endured too much abuse.
He didn't want the police's arrival to expose the matter and make it known to everyone. Although Chloe was fine, if this got out, it would definitely cause a lot of rumors.
She had already endured too much abuse, and he didn't want this incident to affect her. So, he called Free King.
After making the call, he returned to the office and sat on the sofa waiting.
At the door, dozens of security guards had gathered.
They were holding electric batons, sweat beads on their faces, not daring to enter the office.
Inside the office, John lay in a pool of blood, lifeless.
Free King was in a meeting when he received Larry's call. He was really worried that Larry would act recklessly, as he had heard about Larry's temper.
He ended the meeting and gave orders, "Call the police, don't interfere with the Ella Group's matter, let the military handle it, prepare a car immediately, and head to the Ella Group."
At the Ella Group.
Although it was after work hours, many employees were still working overtime.
On the first floor of the building, a dozen security guards lay on the ground, either with broken arms or legs.
These weren't just fractures; their limbs were truly broken, forcibly twisted by a terrifying force.
These people lay on the ground, groaning in pain, some even fainting from excessive blood loss. The scene was chaotic, with some employees crouching in fear, trembling.
At this moment, the police had already arrived, sealing off the scene, and ambulances were dispatched.
These were fully armed officers.
Seeing such a bloody scene, they were on high alert, starting to inquire about the situation. Learning that the perpetrator was still inside the building, they quickly began to set up a cordon.
Just then, the team leader received a call from above, which instructed him not to interfere with the Ella Group's matter, as the military would handle it.
Soon, military vehicles appeared outside the Ella Group.
Dozens of jeeps arrived, and over a thousand fully armed soldiers appeared, dispersing the onlookers and driving away the police.
Larry waited in the office for about ten minutes before the military arrived, and the security guards at the door were forcibly detained.
A burly middle-aged man walked into the office, glanced at the lifeless John on the floor, and then looked at Larry, who was sitting on the office sofa holding Chloe.
He walked over, a hint of displeasure on his face. "Larry, this is Sunset City, not Southwild. You can't be so ruthless."
Larry stood up, holding Chloe, and said, "I'll take the back door. Arrange a car for me and get me out safely. I don't want this matter to be known outside. Anyone who saw me, I hope you can handle it."
He turned to leave.
Free King was quite helpless.
He was the commander of the Western Territory, now the commander of five armies, yet he was always being ordered around by Larry. But he really didn't want Larry to make things worse.
He said, "Wait."
Larry, holding Chloe, turned around and looked at Free King, who was wearing a military uniform with five stars on his shoulder, and said calmly, "What? Is there something else?"
"Larry, stop causing trouble. This is my jurisdiction, don't make it difficult for me. I'm begging you, okay?"
"Anyone who angers or offends me must die!"
Larry turned and left.
He was arrogant and lawless, making Free King furious, but he really had no way to deal with Larry.
Even if Larry committed a heinous crime, he had no authority to arrest Larry unless ordered by the highest-ranking superior.
He took a deep breath and ordered, "Arrange a car at the back door and send him home."
"Yes." Free King's subordinates immediately went to make arrangements.
Then, Free King ordered, "Take all the surveillance footage from the Ella Group. Comfort the families of those injured by Larry, provide treatment and compensation as needed. Anyone who saw Larry, take them away and have them sign a confidentiality agreement. Everything they saw today must be kept secret. If any information leaks out, they will be held accountable.
"Also, announce to the public that this was a joint exercise between the military and the police."
Free King quickly made arrangements.
He handled the matter meticulously.
As for the deceased John, he sent someone to investigate John's identity and found out he was from the Wilson family, one of the four major families in Sunset City.
Free King personally sent troops to the Wilson family, telling them that John had been selected for secret training to become a special agent and would not return for a while.
John's body was quietly taken away and cremated.
Free King sent a car to take Larry home.
No one was home; everyone was out.
Larry carried the unconscious Chloe to the bed and saw that her clothes were soaked. He frowned slightly.
After a moment of hesitation, he went to the wardrobe and took out a dress.
Then he walked to the bed to change her clothes.
As the Black Dragon of Southwild, he had never helped a woman change clothes before.
He was clumsy, and it took him nearly half an hour to change Chloe's clothes.
Larry had given her some sleep aids, and she slept soundly.
She slept for several hours, waking up in the evening.
When she woke up, she rubbed her head.
Remembering some of the previous events, she shuddered, instinctively pulling the blanket around her. Seeing that she was home, she breathed a sigh of relief.
"Chloe, are you'r awake?" The door opened, and Larry, wearing an apron, walked in and said, "I've made dinner. We can eat later."
"Larry," Chloe cried in grievance.
Larry walked over and sat on the bed.
Chloe immediately threw herself into his arms, crying sadly.
"It's okay, I got there in time, nothing happened," Larry comforted, "The HR manager of the Ella Group has been taken away by the police. He'll probably be sentenced to many years."
Hearing this, Chloe sighed in relief.
Fortunately, Larry arrived in time; otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable. But now, thinking back, she was still scared.
She said, "Larry, thank you."
"You need to be more careful in the future. You're so beautiful, any man would use evil means to get you. No, from now on, I have to stay by your side all the time." Larry's words made Chloe laugh.
"Did you change my clothes?" She looked at the dress she was wearing. "My underwear too?"
Larry looked embarrassed, scratching his head. "You were soaked. I was worried you'd catch a cold, so I changed you after bringing you back. I did it with my eyes closed; I didn't see anything."
"Silly, I'm your wife, no need to close your eyes. By the way, I only remember seeing you break in, but I don't remember what happened after that. What happened?"
Chloe's smile left Larry mesmerized.
That smile was like a flower suddenly blooming, so wonderful, so brilliant.
What was a beautiful smile?
Perhaps it was a smile like this.
