Chapter 370 Opportunity
                    Larry was lost in thought.
He was mulling over what the shadow had said and thinking about the Gu master from a century ago.
Control the world with Gu?
Abigail's sudden shout jolted him. He looked up to see her standing in the doorway of the hospital room. "Geez, you scared me, yelling out of nowhere like that."
"Where did you go?" Abigail asked, eyeing him suspiciously. She stepped out of the room, glanced around to make sure no one was there, then came back in, crossing her arms. "It's late, and you snuck out. Who did you meet?"
Larry yawned.
He walked towards the bed and said softly, "I slept too long and felt a bit restless, so I went for a walk."
"Really?"
Abigail looked unconvinced.
Larry lay down and nodded. "Yeah, what else?"
"Alright then."
Abigail didn't press further.
But she still felt like Larry was hiding something from her.
The night passed quietly.
The next day.
Larry woke up but didn't see Abigail.
He was hungry.
Ever since he got infected with Gu, he had gotten hungry quickly, and his appetite had increased.
He knew it was because the Gu inside him was absorbing the food he ate, making him feel hungry, tired, and even weak.
"Where did she go?" Larry murmured softly.
He was very hungry but didn't feel like moving.
He lay in bed, picked up a cigarette, and lit it.
But after a few puffs, he found the taste of the smoke unpleasant, even nauseating, and felt like throwing up.
He put out the cigarette.
"Here I come." At that moment, the door opened, and Abigail walked in with food.
She placed it on the table and smiled, "Hungry?"
Larry nodded slightly. "Yeah, a bit."
Abigail opened the food container, picked up a piece of meat, and brought it to Larry's mouth. "Open up."
Larry glanced at her but obediently opened his mouth.
As soon as he did, the piece of meat was stuffed in.
He chewed gently.
Abigail patiently and carefully fed Larry.
Larry had never been treated like this before, and he couldn't help but think, being taken care of feels pretty good.
"So, what are you planning to do next?" Abigail asked while feeding him.
Larry said softly, "Take this opportunity to rest and heal."
"By the way, your body?" Abigail stopped feeding and looked at Larry with concern. "The doctor said you have an unknown virus in your body. Although it's not contagious, it severely damages the immune system and attacks the nervous system."
Larry corrected her, "It's Gu."
"Gu?" Abigail asked, puzzled. "What's that?"
Larry didn't know much about Gu either and didn't know how to explain.
Larry didn't answer, and Abigail didn't ask further. She focused on feeding him.
After the meal, she wiped Larry's mouth with a tissue and handed him a cigarette.
Larry waved it away. "No more smoking. By the way, can you help me with the discharge paperwork?"
"Discharge?" Abigail frowned. "Look at you, you can barely walk. If you don't stay in the hospital, where will you go?"
Larry said softly, "I'm a doctor myself. I know my body. The hospital can't save me; I can only save myself."
"Oh, right, you're a miracle doctor. I'll go handle the discharge."
Abigail nodded and left the room.
Larry lay down to rest.
He fell asleep shortly after.
He was in a deep sleep when Abigail returned. She had completed the discharge paperwork and somehow got a wheelchair.
She looked at the slowly waking Larry and pointed to the wheelchair. "Get in."
Larry chuckled. "Isn't that a bit much? I can walk."
"Stop pretending," Abigail said sternly. "Get in. The doctor said your condition is special. You should move as little as possible. The virus in your body drains your energy. The more you move, the more active the virus cells become."
Larry nodded.
The doctor's assessment matched his own.
Abigail helped him out of bed and into the wheelchair.
Then she pushed Larry out of the hospital.
Outside the hospital.
Abigail asked, "Where to now?"
Larry looked at the bustling city.
He felt a bit lost.
In this vast city, he had no place to call home.
He sighed and said, "Let's find a hotel to stay for a few days, then we'll head back to Sunset City."
"Okay." Abigail knew Larry had business in Aurora Citadel, but she didn't know what it was. She wisely didn't ask.
She could guess it was something very important.
Abigail pushed Larry to a car, helped him in, folded the wheelchair, and put it in the trunk, then drove off.
She found a five-star hotel and booked a suite.
Once settled in the hotel, Larry didn't leave.
He was waiting for the shadow's response.
He waited a whole day.
At night, the shadow appeared.
On the hotel room balcony, Larry looked at the shadow and asked, "How did it go?"
The shadow said, "King agreed. He said to assist you fully with whatever you need."
Hearing this, Larry felt relieved.
The shadow continued, "An opportunity has been created for you. In three days, King will leave Aurora Citadel for Thalassia. Accompanying him will be the Secretary-General, the Chief Administrator, and the Commander of the Legion of Flame Surge. There's an important cooperation between the two countries, so most of the big shots from Aurora Citadel will be there. This is your chance."
"Okay."
Larry nodded thoughtfully.
Although Alistair would be leaving, the dungeon was heavily guarded. If the jailbreak was discovered, he would quickly be surrounded by the Legion of Flame Surge.
After thinking for a moment, he said, "I'll come up with a jailbreak plan. You assist me when the time comes."
The shadow handed him a slip of paper. "My number. Call me if you need anything."
Larry took it, glanced at it, then tore it up.
"See you." The shadow leaped off the balcony.
Larry looked down.
He saw the shadow move like a ghost, swiftly descending along the drainpipe.
They were on the eighth floor, but the shadow quickly and smoothly reached the ground and disappeared into the night.
"What incredible skills."
Larry couldn't help but take a deep breath.
No wonder he was King's personal guard; his skills were terrifying.
Larry was confident in his own abilities, but against this mysterious shadow, he had no chance of winning. He might need to use the Against Heaven 81 Needles to stand a chance.
Larry returned to the room.
He took out the Against Heaven 81 Needles.
It was a thin steel wire.
He pressed a spot, and the wire instantly spread out into eighty-one silver needles.
Then, he picked up one needle, gently squeezed it, and the scattered needles quickly reassembled into a steel wire.
"The existence of the Against Heaven 81 Needles defies current physics. What secrets do these eighty-one needles hold?"
Larry played with the Against Heaven 81 Needles, murmuring softly.
He had found it in a cave.
The medical book he had only briefly explained the combination of the eighty-one needles but didn't mention their specific use.
Over the years, he had been studying it but hadn't figured out much.
